@@ontherailsuk did well didn’t he 😂😂
When I first saw the start I though oh she's stuck on dead center and driver has reversed a bit to get her off dead center. As she went forwards the second time that's what I think happened for if she still went in reverse then that a problem with the valve gear. That happened to her on a series of mainline runs on the North Wales coast in the 1990's. She was in Llandudno Junction station in full forward gear but continued to go in reverse. What was worse was it was a press run and Clan Line was substituted although with the press being fed loads of booze I doubt they even noticed the engine had been changed. She looks nice in the black livery with sunshine lettering and I wonder if one day they'll paint her in malachite green with sunshine lettering. She's been painted in all sorts of unauthentic liveries over the years from maroon with the nameplate Hogwarts Express in the hope that she would be the engine to be used in the Harry Potter films but the producers thought she looked too modern for their films. She's been painted in purple for the late queens seventy years of reign. BR green of course and now black so malachite and BR blue are future liveries perhaps. Canadian Pacific was in BR blue at one stage so why not Taw Valley
Fantastic video Kev the 37s are a fantastic locomotive at doing loads of thrash
@DanielEdmondson-d7n they really are, one of the best.
@KevsTrains I agree
It is like getting barked at or told off by a pitbull or a bulldog.
@@waleedarif6740 🤣🤣
Is it,?
I think the New Hall at Locomotion is a bit bigger and it's got quite a lot of locomotives then the Main Hall but because they have 2 halls at Shildon they can probably get some more small locomotives in Main Hall. But overall it's brilliant
As one of the team who restarted Inter-City (Rail Blue Charters/Cargo-D) I still smile that some of the original Porterbrook and Angel Trains stock from Long Marston and Kineton is making people smile. The first of the MK3's were actually painted in a Mercedes used car resale-prep body shop, and the finish on them was pretty staggering
@@kimjongbingbongtingtong4430 they look fantastic
Thats really cool. Lucky you!
@@ChessieFanYay on this occasion that is a certainty
A slight pity about those maroon Mk2 coaches because if it was a full blue/grey set that could very nearly have replicated a scene from the late 80s/early 90s! The Mk4 sets look splended in LNER swallow livery. Once they go I will not be travelling on the ECML if I can avoid it. I find the IETs totally un-enjoyable to travel on, especially over longer distances which is supposedly what they were built for....?
@@soundseeker63 I know, a full set would have been fantastic and I know what you mean, not the best design.
On it! I was second coach back from the 37! Great thrash the whole journey. Your train actually bowled me out of the 91! I was waiting in the vestibule for it to go past and didn’t realise it had! 🤣
@@Nate0493 sorry 😂😂
I hope a full Intercity 225 train gets preserved as a charter train. I know there's a Class 91 in the museum at Bo'ness.

Wow 11 coaches isn’t that longer than normal train lengths of the era? Always seem to remember that the big inter city train sets were about 9 coaches? Also… this probably a really dumb question I’ve never asked… what does the C1 mean on the end of the coach … seem to see it on different coaches of different times ?
@@buffplums 11 was a regular sight in the good old days. C is a clearance code for length of coach, C1 being 20mtrs long, C3 23mtrs long. Hope that helps you.

Serendipity, old man, serendipity. BR really spoiled it for the generations that followed with the simple, elegant and unforgetable blue and grey livery. Even the carmine and cream was memorable. The present ones are like fireworks - bright, flashy and short-lived.
