Hi Brett, We were there May 27-June 4, 2023. 70-75 degrees and mostly sunny. Bike ride was easy and cool experience, great way to see the valley, provided for some excellent sight lines. It took 3-4 hrs with some stopping {lunch}. Went about 15 miles. $ 30 for 4 hrs. Yes I would reccomend that. If I only had a few days w/ kids I would do Tunnel View, Bridalveil Fall only 1/3 mile hike...easy. 1 hr. Short hike to Lower Yosemite Fall, maybe a mile round trip....easy well worth it. 1 hr. Mirror Lake hike easy. 2-3 hr. Iconic Mist trail hike is a must see but pretty hard.... and takes a good half day if everyone is up for it. Have fun...trip of a life time. Dave

@@davemaukmarionohio6582 Thanks For your tips Dave. We are coming over to LA for a 10 day cruise to Mexico to see the Solar Eclipse next year. We return to LA and have 10 days till our return to Australia. Its gonna be go go go to squeeze as a much in as possible.

Excellent, sounds like a great vacation. You will really enjoy Yosemite ! FYI - Do not wait to get reservations if you want to stay in the valley which I highly reccomend! We began trying 1 year one year in advance, and it took 4 days in a row before we finally got a reservation. If you stay outside of the valley it coud take 1-2 hrs to get in each day.....not fun.

Thanks so much for your compliment, I used a gopro and had it on the superwide setting. I was suprised to see so many dead trees there ? I read somewhere they estimated the Grizzly Giant at 2995 years old......

Hahahaha so true, we have been playing together for over 30 years and we have not gotten any better, hahaha. We have enough stress in our jobs so we just go out and blow off steam, have good fellowship, drink a few beers, have a satisfying dinner and home to our wives by 7:00. Thanks for commenting

Great, you will love it ! We made our reservations a year and a half prior to going and we were lucky to get them then. We went on the 6 day trip with Western River Exp. It was literally a trip of a life time. We are hiking Yosemite in 2 weeks, another bucket list item. They have had record snow fall and melt this year.

Hi Merle, we went the week of May 24, 2021.You will love it. I get cold easily so I took wet suit gloves with the finger tips cut out...wore them everyday. Also took wet suit boots and wore them daily under my Keen sandles.....that worked out well. The gloves helped hiking too some of the rocks were sharp. Make sure you are in shape if you want to do the hikes. They are all great. Getting acquainted with everyone on the raft was rewarding. Take a comfortable pillow. It will get cold at night in April. I got chiily at night in late May, be prepared. Maybe take a few snacks ? Take good rain pants and coat. Hope things go well for you. Have fun. -Dave

Hi D G, You must do this...it is great ! I went May 27. I think it is the best time to go. Not too hot and not too cold. Plenty of sun. The water is the prettiest in the spring, later on in the summer it turns brown due to the rainy season. I used a go pro 9. I took 5 batteries with me and a power pack. I went thru 2-3 batteries a day. I just did a re edit on this movie and I now have a 7 minute version to watch. Thanks, hope you make it

Thanks Bando, we are just some old hackers that still enjoy playing different courses, having a few beers and a good dinner. Played the Monument and Crooked Tree while we were there also. Glad you enjoyed the video.

Wow ! I am impressed. Good for you, you must have really enjoyed them. I am only 67 and I chose not to do it again. Instead we are doing a 6 night trip to Yosemite next spring. I am little concerned about the fires now though.

Yes, if you want to get the most out of the trip, get in shape, if you are not already. We had some really cool hikes I would have not wanted to miss. Most less than a mile but one or two were very steep. I got winded. Our temps were from 90 t0 106 and down to about 58 at night. I slept in a sweat shirt. Still needed a rain suit on most days due to cold water. I took snacks but did not need them, we were very well fed. I wore wet suit gloves and footies, you may not need them in August but I am glad I had them ? Take a good small pillow. Go on all the hikes...they were great ! If you plan to video put " RAINX " on yor lens to keep off water spots and take many batteries ,I took 5 go pro batteries and a charger. 2 batteries died from the heat. Make sure you do not sleep by a side canyon, that is how the fatlaties happened after a hard rain this summer. any other questions let me know. Have fun. Dave
