You can throw stones or craft a sling that uses stones for ammo. And you might like to know, the music was rather loud this episode.

There was an alter and candle stubs in that first ruin room with the skeletons. Good for decor.

You can make slabs(half blocks) of both wood planks and cobblestone. You can place them vertically or horizontally and I think you can chisle them as well. Just don't use them for outer walls because they don't count as solid, so it won't count as a house or cellar.

You can make ladders with only sticks, also you can climb them when they are placed every other block, that way you use less.

I think if you use a chisel on a tool you can break it up and remelt it. Or maybe it was the hammer?

I know I'm several episodes behind, so if you already know these, please disregard. Spears do more damage when thrown. I've heard (haven't verified) that if you spread out your ore when smelting, it heats up faster. That is, if you have 20 chunks to make 1 ingot, put 5 in each of the 4 slots. That will save on fuel. There is a mod "auto map markers" you have to activate it in game, then it marks whatever you interact with. Configurable. If you put water (1 liter?) in one of the first two slots of the cooking pot with something else, you get soup. This allows you to cook even 1 single carrot for more nutrition.

I enjoyed following your unedited adventures. It did lack a bit of panning, but then again, I'm a panning freak.

I tend to put few mods. I think a mod that makes sense is the chiseling tools, because as good as chiseling is in game, it lacks a way to copy complex shapes that can make chiseling hard to love. Another one is the spyglass mod, as it lets me add zoom in a way that feels entirely consistant with the base game. You have to smith the two halves of the spyglass and use glass for the lens. Then carry it on you to be able to use it. It's cool.

Tip for digging with cave-ins. I found the supports to be of very little help in general. The best strategy is to dig blocks below the level of your feet ahead of you and below where you are planning to dig into the ceiling. That way, when cave-ins occur, the material fills the void below the level of your feet and does not damage you. In that way, cave-ins are a real help in clearing out large spaces underground and exposing minerals. In summary always make sure that your feet stand on a block that is at least one block higher than the surrounding blocks. That way falling blocks won't get to you. (you could also stand on a ladder on the floor.

Galena is a lead bearing ore. Borax is also worth stocking up on.

Lingnite is brown coal. Usually large deposits and very useful fuel.

Put the storage vessel with food in a hole with a hay bale on top and it will keep food fresher longer tha just the vessel alone. You can also use pick to dig a small chamber in the stone to make a cellar. Use a ladder (made from 7 sticks) to get in and out and cover with a hay bale until you can make a trap door. Food lasts much longer in a cellar.

Don't throw away sand and gravel. Make a pan from a log and sieve them to find useful items and copper bits.

I'm enjoying the series but please stop speeding up video while you're moving about. It works well when you're crafting but the super fast movement is inducing nausea.

Most metal ores are found in igneous rocks. (makes sense). Some are specific to sedimentary rocks. You will learn to recognize the types. But in general igneous rocks will be where you find most of your metals.
