    Heyyy, I'm about to get the parts for the mask printed and was just wondering if instead of dry welding, I can just use superglue to assemble it all together?

    • @Skrag00

      Yes, of course! I did both, but if I were to redo it, I'd just super glue it.

      I printed this with Cura, the Lulz Bot edition. Any slicer would work! For instance, I have a prusa, so I'd use the prusa slicer now

      Great thanks! I printed the top half and it came out perfectly but the bottom has just failed on the mouth. Did you have to add supports to the mouth?

    • @Skrag00
      @Skrag00 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm glad you're starting this project! I'm fairly sure I added supports and if your first attempt failed, you should support that area. It's hard for printer to bridge a gap that large. If you're ever in doubt, slicers usually have auto supports, and you can use that to see where it expects failure.

    • @Skrag00
      @Skrag00 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on the game, but usually, they have thickness. What you do is run a sim on a card version of your cloth (it's a 2D, one-sided mesh), and then transfer that simulation data to the version with thickness. This means the very complicated mesh acts like the very simple card version. It's cheaper on the sim side and looks better.

    As a gamer who delve into game documentaries a lot, I'm somewhat familiar with the methods used but they all stayed in surface level, and in the documentary they usually don't show a long segment of engine footage, so this video and it's clear instructions definitely helped me understand the process of game making even more! Wanted to know more seeing the 001 in the title, and unfortunately found out there wasn't a 002 and so on, if you decide to pick this back up again, i will definitely comeback for more!

    Thanks for making this video! I have been referring to it many times and am in the process of making it. Just wondering how does the main skull pieces connect to the wireframe. Is the fabric stuck to it as well?

    • @Skrag00
      @Skrag00 ปีที่แล้ว

      The fabric is hot glued, mainly the forehead section, while the lower part just hangs. I'm not exactly sure what wire you're talking about, but I'll explain both. One is actual wire that is bridged between the nose and laces the jaw together. The jaw wire is bent into place. The wire between the nose was heated and melted into place. The other wire frame is 3d printed and spray painted gold. This was simply glued in place. I made sure while building it that it would fit and look good while constructing. Make sure you give yourself some space to put the fabric between. Hope that helps! Feel free to ask again if you're stuck

    キル光線じゃあないっスか…!

    • @Skrag00
      @Skrag00 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no idea! Everyone is replying to me in Japanese that's its called a kill ray, but in the English manga, it is called a Kiru Beam. Named after Kiruko. Here's a quote Maru says after Kiruko calls it a Kiru beam "Your Kiru Beam? As in a beam that you, Kiruko, can use?". It's pretty ironic because this is just after Kiruko was just complaining that it's annoying how people were calling the monsters different things 😁

    • @cyruschow7834
      @cyruschow7834 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know much about Japanese but キル(ki-ru) is more frequently to mean kill. Since Japanese borrow many word from other langue and really love to localize them, ‘kill’ becomes キル(ki-ru) and John become ジョン in Japanese. (Just imagine it is like people use foreign language to make things cool.) And in this case, kiruko (キルコ) is written nearly the same as kill. So google translate probably translate kiru-beam (キル光線) to kill-ray. Also, I think Japanese may see beam really the same as ray. Both word can translate to 光線 anyway (光=light and 線=line/ wire/ beam by google translate).

    • @SambaFromMouth
      @SambaFromMouth ปีที่แล้ว

      Kiru-Beam is double meaning. キル(Kill) & キル(Kiru)

    Nice videos, but I couldn't help but notice you aren't wearing any PPE gear. You definitely don't want to be inhaling the fine plastic particles from the sanding or the fumes from bondo. This should be done in a well ventilated area and ideally with a respirator on. Stay safe, you only have one life!

    • @Skrag00
      @Skrag00 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the message, I'm glad you are looking out for others. I actually bought a respirator during my current project (the next video). I was sneezing during sanding earlier, but now it's much better. Also, wearing a respirator around resin. I've been fairly good at protecting my skin, but I do need to be more cautious. Thank you again!

      Yeah, thanks again! The foam padding on the inside was a bit of a pain, having to puzzle piece all the parts. It looks pretty good and covers the sharp Fiberglass edges, but maybe there's a better way to do it than how I did it. Good luck!
