Hi! My name is John, I live in Wisconsin and have loved sirens since I was a kid. I developed a strong interest after hearing Milwaukee's sirens during some particularly spooky tornado warnings. My channel started in 2007 and I recorded sirens for a few years. Eventually life got in the way and I took a break from posting regularly.
Fast forward to 2023, I heard about Milwaukee's siren system being replaced and decided to get back out and document my old friends before they're gone. I began to realize how much I'd missed it.
Now I'm making up for lost time and enjoying this unique interest with some of the cool people I've met. Almost weekly, I head out to see sirens around Wisconsin and beyond. I'm also working hard to improve my video quality and editing. There's lots more to come, so stay tuned!
Thanks for checking out my channel. If you like this stuff, subscribe for more!

ASC T-135AC Tornado Siren Test, Full Alert, Hudson, WI 10/2/2024
This is the first stop on an awesome day trip with Mitchell, Holly and Jeff. Although this siren has been recorded a whole bunch of times, it's quite a neat experience to get this close to an active T-135AC/P-50. It was also cool to meet up with Chris, Coen and Sam.
This is a really cool spot for filming, and with the hills and the water tower, you can get a lot of nice shots. The wind sucked pretty bad and somewhat limited my options, but someday I'll go back and film from some different angles I have in mind. Also the screen on the projector is majorly effed up. Thank you for watching. Enjoy!

Noon blast? Nah, do it at 12:09 instead to keep 'em guessing! After recording the P-15 in Pleasant Prairie with the others, Jeff and I came to see this potent little fella in action. I'm sure this is due to timer issues, but good lord, I've never encountered a noon siren that was this late. After waiting nearly 9 minutes, I figured it wasn't going to happen and was packing up to leave. Just as ...

For this particular test, I had nothing specific in mind to record, so it was decided to meet Holly, Frank, and Marley at this interestingly mounted P-15 in Pleasant Prairie. The test was late and fairly short, but it was a good one. I framed my shot like a total doofus, but then I "fixed" it, so it's fine now. Shut up. Then we all hung out and chatted, I rust-proofed my Explorer by spilling mo...

This thing is silly - an EOWS 115 on an ASC controller. It does that stupid quiet wind up (which I hate) then blasts you with one cycle of attack, essentially. Wow! I grew up hearing a proper dual tone SiraTone 115 used for fire calls where my grandparents lived, and that thing was loud as hell. It pretty much blasted me out of a sound sleep numerous times. This one, while fairly loud, doesn't ...

Tuesday night siren test?! You'd better believe it! I loaded my stuff in the Exploder and traversed the beautiful sunset into Ozaukee County to the magical land of Fredonia, Wisconsin, home of the beloved P-15 that tests on Tuesday nights at 7pm. I set up, began to record, and waited...and waited. Finally, at about 7:10, I called the Fire Department and inquired about the siren test. The guy th...

Stop number 2 of Labor Day Sirens 2024: The Model 7T in Wausau, WI. It's my first time hearing a 7T up close. There were a bunch of us here, as the Milwaukee group met linked up with Evan as well as Mitchell and Drew. The test was sadly quite short, only about 19 seconds of alert, possibly due to the holiday. Still, it was punchy and rather neat with its ASC and ACA boxes (notable enough that I...

Happy New Years Eve! I'm skipping a bunch of backlog, but this is my last test of 2024. With the Monday before New Year's off of work, I decided to hit the road and record a noon blast. Here's the maiden test of Kenosha's brand new, very out-of-place 2001-130. ECS pulled an equally based and scheisty move here. They done screwed everything up and pissed everyone off by slapping this thing in the middle of Kenosha's Fulton-maintained ACA system. Allertor is one of my top favorites

Nice shot! Sounds amazing!!
I saw that same p50
Over-recorded much? No? Okay then. Cool shot tho!
@SirensOfTheMidSouth Thanks! It definitely is over-recorded LOL. This thing is an experience, though. I'll never not enjoy seeing and hearing it!
this never gets old, I still need to get my yearly recording of it soon
Thunderbolts are one of my favorites. Just Subbed! Though I have no twister warning sirens I love to listen to them go off
@apismellifera1000 Thanks for the sub! I'll continue to provide you with as many siren vids as I can!
@@RamFett If I could have 4 sirens they would be FS Thunderbolt 1003T, ACA Allertor, FS 3T22, and ACA Hurricane
Healthy sounding P-50
i always wondered what whirring sound was when the siren faces away. like a motor running? some videos have it very prominent and others are quieter. What would be the reason for this? And great video, seeing this before i clock in. 😅
@@StormFlareRecords My understanding is that it's just air rushing in/out of the projector.
Cool! Love that Raspy tone!
hell yeah man love those P50s the acoustics of this area sound insane when it faces you
Ahh I see the rotor still makes that loud slamming noise when It starts up. NGL, This is easily one of the best P-50/T-135AC/RM-135 recordings I have ever seen! The echoing and wavey sounds from the wind makes it sound all the more awesome IMO. I can't imagine how creepy it would be to hear this at night during a tornado warning. Nice video!
@zachzebra56 Thanks, man! I placed audio a bit farther away than normal, because the last P-50 I recorded with my Tascam peaked the hell out of the audio, even with gain turned down. As a result, it managed to capture that warbling air rushing sound much better than usual.
@RamFett Nice! P-50's are not to be messed around!
The good old Hudson twister whistle lol
Epic 😊😊😊😊😊
YAY
The P50 has holes
Amazing!! Best sounding Model Decot produced!

I’m gonna probably go next month don’t buy the park by Jackson and hear the thing for the last time. Hopefully it won’t be too cold and snowy and windy. I’m planning on going to second week of February or maybe March or May one of them times I heard it last year in February that was in Valentine’s Day
That's a fun one to see. I've recorded it 3 times now. It hasn't rotated in a long time now, so keep that in mind.
Once these are gone, they’re gone hit the videos though coming so what is it the last hurrah for these things? When will it be the final run?
@steveperelli3602 The project is moving very slowly, so there's no telling at the moment. I will continue to record Milwaukee's old system until they are all replaced, though. Allegedly, this month was the last test for the courthouse P-50, so I recorded it once again.
It’s Milwaukee Wisconsin’s problem
Every siren that Milwaukee has will end up in the graveyard just like that it’s better to fix them and maintain them then replace them for forget getting rid of them idea is that right? I’m trying to say it’s not my idea or problem it’s emergency management problem so whatever happens happens whatever will be will be a Que sera sera
So I'm not that familiar with GCS, what's their relation to federal? Are they like Darley in the sense?
@MichanaAlerting From what I've read, they were very similar to Darley, rebadging Federal cores to sell under their own brand.
No. I will not shut up. You zoomed in too far. This video is ruined as is my day. JK, I'm just being annoying. Nice video regardless!!!
Ah yes, the Union Grove nooner
Beautiful!!!
Definitely a rare model 5 with its housing and the 8 port siren. I also love how it's painted to match the water tower. That's pretty ingenious IMO. Still, a noon blast 9 minutes after the supposed noon blast? Oof! Anyways nice video!
Always cool to see this ones mount. Very interesting use of a pre existing structure.
what kind of blower dose it have
Cool mount!
I know of an sth10 in Belmar NJ mounted like that on a cell tower

Oh dang it's on an asc controller instead of the good ole siratone, that sucks.
2:16 why doesn’t it do that anymore
(Edit) holy fuck this thing is wild, IT USES A SIRATONE, YET SOMEHOW THESE MFS JURYRIGHED SOME ASC SOUNDCARS INTO THE SIRATONE… WHAT anyways here is the original “info” Yes, this is a federal EOWS, not an ASC rebranded one. ASC never made rebrands of the EOWS. Instead, this is equipped with an ASC electronic siren controller, if the Computlert ever supported electronic sirens, it most likely is one. (I think it did)
It's one of the rare tornado siren
Very nice. I should get another video of this before it eventually gets replaced
@supermaximax10 Thanks, Max! That was the reason I recorded it - see it before it goes bye-bye.
@RamFett Gotcha. Also, the OM-120 will also be replaced in case if you aren't aware
@supermaximax10 Yeah, I've heard that. It's supposed to be replaced by a T-135, correct? I'll record it one of these days.
@RamFett yes
This thing again 😮💨
@MichanaAlerting Suffer through the experience like I had to! It's unique, at least.
@RamFett Yeah I was being dramatic. I've just seen a couple videos of this and still think it's a bit of a monstrosity, but I don't actually hate the ASC controllers that much
I probably wouldn't have said "SiraTone" unless it actually is USING a SiraTone controller but I think I get why you called it that. Yes, I myself am not keen on those ASC electronic siren controllers, ether. If I had to choose, I'd definitely pick UV more than any ASC electronic siren controller.
@Siren1000T1 LOL, I'm not losing any sleep over it. The SiraTone controller is in there, as it was originally built, just bypassed. I'm not getting that technical about this goofy thing.
@@RamFett That is so bizarre.
I may be the only person in this comment section that actually likes the soft wind-ups on Electronic sirens.
@niks_crazy_world I'm glad someone can appreciate it!
I dont like that asc electronic siren wind up imo
@@will09666 You're not alone on that one, man.
I never really got why ASC electronic sirens did that insanely quiet wind up then straight full blast. No one is gonna hear that from a distance. (ASC sirens: brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH) Anyways nice video.
I think it's just to get the attention of people standing really close so there are at least expecting it when their ears get blasted off
@zachzebra56 I've heard (and I cannot not verify the veracity of this claim) that the intent is to "warm up" the drivers before going full-send with them.
@@RamFett interesting, I always thought it was to alert nearby pedestrians that their ears are about to be blasted off instead of blasting them off right away
@RamFett I mean, on paper, It makes sense.
the stupid thing about this is somehow this was set up do this THROUGH the original controller! there is a video of someone from SWS running the original controller. so its wired up to both
What happened to the original siratone controller?
@@zachzebra56 the control board apparently still exists they wired the ASC controls to run through the Siratone amps
@DrpanProductions Thats strange. I never thought you could do that. What I meant was why would they wire a new controller through the old one if the old one works. Maybe it doesn't generate tones anymore?
@@zachzebra56 you gotta realize this siren is well over 40 years old. It was probably more cost prohibitive to do it this way
