I may hold all my hours glasses , 3 packs a day and trading may be enough to get 2 playable cards off each. I can see getting on par with meta come the next 5 wins in a row event.

Less cards in the main set tells me they may be planning two mini sets this time instead of one. Which would make sense given how they went overkill with how many legendaries are in Gen 4. We already assume every legendary is going to get a full art and/or rainbow alt art rare. Then they like to do 1 star illustration rares of more common cool mons. That’s where our Lucario comes in. I feel like the eeveeloutions from Gen 4 have to get one. The starter final evos may get 2 stars. There are a ton of other solid potentials like the new evos, Magmortar, etc. Spiritomb is a solid illustartion option. Seems like half this generation are good candidates for illustrations of 1 or 2 stars. They can’t pack that many rares into one set, even just lookingbatblegendaries alone. Breaking it all up makes sense.

140 cards, hoping giratina and darkrai is included in that number. Also, they said there are gen 2 ex mixed up in the set. Looking forward to seeing lugia, ho oh, tyranitar, and the legendary dog trio in there 🤞

Garchomp and Togekiss seem to have a mid damage or an attack with a downside that requires Cynthia support card to be viable.

Pachirisu EX is definitely a nod to it winning the 2014 World Championship. Sejun Park is prolly the closest thing to Ash IRL.

I don't like Cynthia at all. Because now it's either Garchomp alone is weak and requires Cynthia to deal a good amount of damage or he is strong on his own and the combo is absolutely busted and game breaking. First point also hurts deck versatility as you always have to play Garchomp and Cynthia in the same deck to make Garchomp a good card.

I am a bit confused, didn't an official source state that they're going to release over 280 new cards with the upcoming set? Why 140+ now?

The set is probably being split exactly down the middle, like 140/149, since the end of GA+MI was around 240 cards total

Well, other EXs can maybe come at a later time with something like a Giratina expansion pack

Honestly I think it's fine. They opened the game up with 3 packs since you need a decent base set to build onto. Now it'll be 2 packs and 1 pack every few months to add new cards to the mix. Still means we'll get about 10 new Ex Pokemon with this next set. If they want the game to last that's not unreasonable.

I am so happy with the f2p experience. As of now I have completed all of Genetic Apex and Mythical Island diamond cards. Only cards I am missing now are rapidash full art and golbat full art and the other rarer cards which I am okay with not having. I can get all the playable cards and make any deck I want. I know its a bit rough at first but you can eventually make any deck you want with the help of trading and I think that's a nice environment. If you premium or rare cards then pay for them.

I'd be okay with all of these trade currencies if they opened up the limits to 2* 3* and even crown rares. My issue isn't pulling 1234 diamonds and 1* I have plenty of those. I want to trade for higher rarity cards.

3:18 I actually sneaky hate this. Because now I have to keep extras in case of trading when really I want to put flair on them. Specifically around the 3 diamond & up as the commons are just that.

I feel like 140 is still quite a bit. Just the ones we say so far look to change things up quite a bit.

I'm not picturing how are we going to find the trades if its with friends only, and we can't even chat. Sounds hella inefficient. Would we have to be trade spammed until they hit a combination that we are willing to trade?

Am I the only one that thinks not ramming through 200 + cards every 6 weeks is good for the longevity of the game? 60 cards changed so much when mythical island dropped. 140 allows free to play players to catch up with all the cards. this is really good for the economy of pocket imo

icl as a f2p im fine with less cards,gives me more time to still get some missing genetic apex cards while not falling behind

I imagine the trade tokens will slowly generate like wonder pick tokens and you use the trade hourglasses to speed up the time need to replenish the tokens.

I wouldn't mind the Trade Hourglass actually, it's just the Trade Tokens really looks so bad

I don’t think Articuno will get no play, it would make sense to just run both. Articuno is still a 2 shot on mostly everything without having to lose energy.

It makes sense for lucario to be fighting as it is primary fighting type in the games plus its ability bolsters fighting types and would not synergize with a metal deck at all.

The reason they keep reprinting Eevee is because they eventually will remove boosters and they don't want people upset if they can't get a card required to use the eeveeloutions.

I think 2 packs is a good middle ground. 3 packs is too many as it splits your resources a bit thin and makes it a bit difficult to pull certain cards that you may need. 1 pack is too little as it means no split and you can literally pull the entire set in one go which kind of counterintuitive of how this game structures itself. That may just be me.

I think there will be a third that has Arceus on the pack, but just a single pack expansion like with Mythical Island.
