Kimutsik || Interview with Glenn Gear
In partnership with the CONTACT Photography Festival, PAMA presents the exhibit "Kimutsik (dog team)", 2023, by Glenn Gear. This artwork features untethered dogs running freely and returning as spirits, set against a backdrop of beadwork crafted by the artist. It reflects on a time when government laws led to the tragic loss of Inuit-owned dogs, pushing Inuit into settlements.
Join us for an interview with Glenn Gear as he shares the inspiration behind Kimutsik, featured in the exhibit "Oh My Dog!", guest-curated by Chris Finn. The animated video and banners will be on display until November, with "Oh My Dog!" running through November 3 and the outdoor banners up until November 21.

This land was once beautiful fields and apple orchards
Compare that to Brampton now
Oh no😢, and it has become delhi today😢
Best mayor canada ever had and will ever
It's a shame what's happened to Brampton
Lol I remember getting lost there as a small child after I hid inside a rack of clothes..Luckily a nice lady found me crying and brought me to the lost and found where my mom picked me up..
My mom managed the arcade Fun & Games in the mid to late 80's. What a childhood I had!!
I only saw one jeep with "no farmers no food "on its door.
Beautiful! Thank you!❤
Somthing looks diferent then, gee , I just can't put my finger on it,,,,
The holes at the top of the lid are not for venting and cooling warm milk. They are for prying the lid off using a tool that I don't know its name.
I used to pick up parts at that Plymouth dealer when i worked for Cooksville Dodge. 🚗
Now its a shithole i wonder why
Terrible. Only one picture from Meadowvale, for one second, and barely anything outside of Caledon or Brampton.
And we had to ruin it
Queen 👑 of Mississauga ❤
Diversity is our strength, F ING toilet now. Born , raised, fled like a refuge as far as I could get from the crime ridden crap hole.
I was born that year in Mississauga
The photos at 1:47 must be from on top of the hill at Ching park. It's amazing how much Brampton has grown
1973-1994 born and raised, what a shame.
Same here..Grew up there in the 80s..Alot of great memories..I live most of the way across the country now and it pains me every time I go back seeing what it's become..
Holed up eh i...🙋...update....nnnn🧦🇨🇦na pokeame
before India knew where Brampton was.

The great replacement is no longer conspiracy theory.
I remember when they announced that the mall would be open on Sundays - my brother and I walked over but the whole time I was looking around expecting God to strike me down for sinning (by indulging in commerce on the Lord's day) Lol! A year or so later we found a hundred bucks in the parking lot (we were ecstatic) and went straight to the video game store to buy a Nintendo game (I think we bought "faxanadu") Bramalea was clean, safe, wholesome, and even in some sense, godly. I miss these days.
THANK-YOU CANADA FOR WAKING UP THE WORLD
ACE
lol do a video of then and now...
Heart Lake, many summers spent there in the late 70's, me and my buddy swam there every day and must have done 1000 miles swimming between the 2 docks, Carla the blond and the Guelph U brunette were the lifeguards back then when the subdivisions were first out in out there. Thousands of frogs and garter snakes in the spring and summer before they built the Heart Lake community center w the fake lake, ppl used to camp on the little island out there, lol. My ex's sister owned the wbole corner just up from Main and Queen that lead to Railroad St, Gage Park was amazing back then as well.
Went to Centennial public school in the late 70's and we hung at the mall (and McDonalds of course) all the time on weekends and after school. Lots of memories of that place, from buying cheapie batteries at Radio Shack for our JVC RC-M70 ghetto blasters w Tony Mitchell. Renting movies on Xmas day at Jumbo Video, K mart for Levis, the 80's were pretty innocent and fun back then.
0:48 i see the man started the trend to casually dress for grocery shopping
WONDER WHERE PETE IS NOW
There are two of these machines for sale in my area for 150$ Canadian…are these a good investment or a curiosity?
Why black and white film ? 📸
Welcome to Bramladesh Kaneda
at 0:06 I'm greeted by the sight of my childhood street and park only 2 years after I was born! very cool pictures to see🙂🙂
I grew up near SW, I remember when they added the addition for The Bay. I used to play space invaders at the Kmart entrance while my mom shopped, and I still have my Future World (Arcade) membership card. They installed a waterslide over by O'tooles side of the mall. We also snuck in one time and rode our BMX inside before security saw s :) good times, 80's was the best.
oooohhhhhhyes
Totally terrific
A steam engine in 1970 I think not.
Vivian’s sporting goods when’re it was as easy too buy a gun as it was a hockey stick. Before they let the terrorists in.
I didn't know Brampton had a Shopper's World, but i grew up in East York Toronto, and remember spending a lot of time at the Shoppers World in the 70's and '80's as a kid with my brothers and mother located near the intersection of Danforth Rd and Victoria Park Ave. Lots of boutique style stores, an Eatons, and even a Zellers with a dine-in restaurant. What you see hanging across the isle at 0:28 are Easter egg art work coloured by local school kids in the area. We'd use crayons and come up with our own designs and the school would submit them to the mall. Prizes were given to the most popular artworks. Fond memories of a great time!
Pure Gold. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!
Everything was going pretty well in canadian society then the government came
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing this. It paints such a euphoric contrast of the city. It’s crazy to think how much the city had developed since then
It was killed by pressure from the U.S. government. Politics got in the way. That’s the long and short of it.
A crowning glory moment in Canadian history.
I can’t believe there are only 17.comments.
IM WONDERING WHY THE PARKING IS FULL AT 930 AM NOT MUCH THERE) IM THINKING VISITORS APTS NEAR) ( 2024)
