Hi I wanted to ask, is the mic setup easy? Do you just have to connect the mic wire to the poly and it's all setup? Thank you 😊
Does this work just as well if you have dual touch screen displays connected to your MTR kit, i.e. interactive touch on both screens works well?
Unfortunately I haven't tried with dual touchscreen. But I would expect it to work.
Good addition! Now they need to replace the DisplayPorts with HDMI so you don't need extra dongles.
I somehow agree with you. But others are happy with DP, since they don't unplug that easy.
In your demo Is E60 connected over ethernet or usb ? I red that the remote wasn’t supported with teams, obviously not ?
In this demo it is connected on USB via Icron extenders. As I understand It will be supported on ethernet in mid november.
When you showed the group framing, I was about to say, "Wow, that is too laggy. " But then when you enabled the presenter tracking, it was much more responsive. Thanks for doing this demo!
Thanks for your feedback. Yes Group framing is way slower, but that is to have a mode, without to many changes.
Very poor sound quality. Weren't the users microphones not used?
@@crazypict agree But the test was for the camera. I only had a single table mic connected
It's great to see the quality of the latest HP/Poly kit Lars. Good job. 😊
Thanks a lot for the feedback.

Thank you for sharing. My organizator use teams room pro license with mtr endpoint device, sometime account automatically signout with error code 50199 with status falure on entra id checking. How to known exactly this issues and the best way to resolve it.
Graham did a great writeup about it here: www.thegrahamwalsh.com/microsoft-teams-android-based-devices-failing-to-sign-in-with-intune-error-50199-in-azure-ad-logs/
Hi, is the voice recognition you're discussing only available in Microsoft Teams Rooms? Or is it available for 'normal' Teams meetings?
With Zoom, if you enable the "hide non-video participants" setting, it basically does this same thing, and has worked this way for 10+ years without "AI". All it's doing is changing the video layout based on how many cameras are turned on. Not sure why Team's iteration of is considered "AI" or anything special.
Impressive difference - nice!
Thank you so much.
Hi Lars , do you know if with the Poly Studio and adding a expansion micro the sound has the same pattern / behavior `switching between the expansion mic and the audio device ? this is automatic ? Or must to be parameterized? BR
Hey! By adding the expansion mic the Poly Studio is by standard setting switches to expansion mic. But you can change this setting in poly lens cloud (its free for now) and put it on "auto". in this case, the higher dB will be considered, which mic to use
Is there a Teams Room Certification I can take? Isn't the fisrt step to certify a room?
Hey Lars, Is it possible to not always view the whiteboard and just use it as second display for the meeting? ie show participants or shared content in full screen?
Yes that is possible. But with the Surface Hub now going to be a Teams Rooms, it would probably be a lot cheaper just to choose a Teams Rooms and setup with Dual screen.
@@larsberlau well I'm actually having a real big issue with Teams Rooms and how it handles multiple displays. I just started a new role and now deal with Teams instead of Zoom. I don't really have much control over what content goes on what screen in Teams. Such as putting participants or content on each display. Zoom has so much granularity with this, depending on how many displays you have, when someone is or isn't sharing content. Teams assumes that the displays are always side-by-side in dual display mode. It's hard to be more specific but this would be in a Surface Hub 3 in a multi purpose space that already has 3 separate large displays in the room. I want to be able to utilize the display when I'm not using it as a whiteboarding surface.
@@kevbrobot I agree - Zoom is much more flexible on how the screen should be used. The issue is that even in Coordinated meeting you do not have the option of choosing the default layout of the Teams Rooms or Hub. You will manually need to change Layout on each device in every meeting.
2014 ?
Thanks. Sorry of course 2024
outdated since October 2023.
Fantastic presentation. How you got the devices on screen to display the content as if they were real, I don't know. Bravo!
I use NDI... Have made a guide here: th-cam.com/video/66lVz44R_IM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wlBgRQ_9vZfhUMq9
Can you share how you mount the microphone on the ceiling?
Here is how I did it: 1drv.ms/w/s!Am4cDoccExEKgYhP9wHYrCFhT8D7Ww?e=li70IQ
Lars~Like. yo did gorgeous drone~ farewell! :)
Thanks a lot
i have an issue, when trying to do the same i receive the “signin out, device isn’t enrolled in device administrator” error, how can i fix it?
This is probably because you haven´t enabled Android Device Manager. This is forced by Microsoft from August 2023. Was not needed previously.
How can i enable it? Should i change some settings on intune?
@@marcolinoermellino2345 Yes, under Devices, Android, Android Enrollment - tick the box for Android Device Administrator
Great discussion Lars! Keep them coming. As you said would also love this in the meeting room including your own agenda, whiteboard etc.. 🙏
Thanks! Next video will be out already tomorrow
Interesting demo. How are you powering all of this? Are you using a mobile hotspot for the data connection?
Everything is powered by an Ecoflow River 600. I have a 4G router and a PoE Switch for the console. with all connected including the screen and videobar it can run for around 3 hours.
fantastic video, very informative and detailed.Big thumbs up
Does it have cost, or other type of licencse? Or is it included in the eregular licences?
If you have a Teams Rooms on a Meeting Room Pro license, then it is included. If you don't have, then you will need a Shared Device License
@@larsberlauThanks mate
Hi Lars. Great video and to the point. I'm dealing with the same exact challenge in one of our Training Rooms which is almost a large size room. Adding mics to the ceiling instead have given me something to think about. Do you know if it's possible to add more than 2 expansion mics on the x50 or even x70? Because our training room is slightly bigger even 2 ceiling mics might not be enough I'm afraid.
Sorry for the late reply. As of now it is only possible to add a single expansion mic to the X50 and X70. Unless you go with a external DSP like Shure QSC or Biamp.
@@larsberlau Hi, do you know if this has changed? Also you are base in what part of the US?
@@Ndpmnyc This setup is still working. Although the 2nd generation of Poly Studio X-Series. like X52 and X72, will also support the IP Ceiling mic. But in this video I use the Debut Expansion Table Mic, just mounted in the ceiling. This is still working. I am based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Love your sessions, guys ! Keep ´em coming
Thanks a lot ;-)
Hi ,regarding room account I'd , can you help me with it. How to create it,can I get your email I'd
If you share your mail, then I can send you a guide
Great video Lars! Keep them coming don't forget a ☕️ in between.. 😊
Thanks! Coffee is needed everyday ;-)
thanks. can you do that from your PC and share some videos or excel files or PDFs?
What about the calendar and sending invitations to the teams room device directly with that license? Do we need to add additional exchenge online license to have that feature so the room device can answer the invitations and show the calendar as it was before?
No additional licenses is needed. If you use basic or pro license, then you are good to go. But you need to create a resource account if it is a new room
can we cast from laptop or just only working on phone ?
Yes you can cast from PC as well, Microsoft have just hidden the function a bit, take a look here: www.linkedin.com/pulse/cast-your-pc-teams-rooms-lars-berlau/
Great demo! Would love to see an update after all the firmware updates!
Consider adding some slide or visuals, would help make it more interesting.
Thanks for your input. We will consider doing that when it makes sense
can't wait to test Voyager Free 60+
Me too ;-) Unfortunately I am still waiting for my unit. But the audio quality seems to be really good, when I am in calls with my colleagues who have them
Very useful, thanks for your effort
On surface hub, can I set up coordinate meetings from the interface rather than provision package?
Thanks a lot ;-)
Yes, that have later been done available... go to the Teams app on the Surface Hub and from there go to settings. You will need admin password, but then it will be as easy as on the Teams Rooms
Thank you Lars! Greatly appreciate your work!
Thanks a lot.
The only scenario I can think of having Basic and Pro licenses is if you have MTRoW and MTRoA, there is no point to have a Pro lciense in an Android device.
Depends on your needs. if you want to have dual screen setup, if IT require Intune enrollment. Then you will need to go with Pro license
The only way I got multiple video feeds working is share screen - and something like together mode!
I also did a test with Inogeni Share 2U, which is a really nice box for multiple video feeds th-cam.com/video/IksYgoWkZR4/w-d-xo.html
Great article Lars! Cheers!
Thanks a lot
did you test with Samsung FLip?
Yes i have two Flip which is running with Android based solutions. Works very well. Just be aware that the whiteboard from Flip can not be shared in Teams.
@@larsberlau there is tips for that: join the teams meeting with your computer, next step cast from pc to the flip. And accept option of return device on the pc. Then lauch the whiteboard from the teams on the pc. So you can use the touch on the flip with the team whiteboard 😉
@@Kaaby49 Thats true, But I don´t think that is something a normal user would be able to find out. I have also used HDMI out from touch screens to HDMI ingest... But I think a more clean installation will be sometihng more users will be able to use in their daily job.
Stryhns Gruppen har købt 2 af disse(Kun soundbaren)og vi har problemer med de starter i for høj volume(De starter i 80%). samt at de ikke starter op automatisk når brugeren forbinder til udstyr. TV tænder, kamera tænder men soundbar forbliver slukket.
Tak for din kommentar. Jeg vil anbefale du tager fat I Lenovo (Lasse eller Martin) som har med udstyret at gøre. De kan forhåbentligt hjælpe dig videre. Hvis det er Teams de kører, så kan man indstille default audio output. Normalt er det 50%
Zoom has a "side by side" option built in. I'm surprised that Teams requires this workaround to do the same thing.
I know Zoom has a side by side option. But I like that Teams does it in two seperate windows, if you have two or more screens then you would be able to choose where to have the content and video feeds
@@larsberlau Oh, in that case you can enable Zoom's dual screen option and it will give you two separate windows and then you can tile them however you like :)
@@ScottSchramm Cool! I did not know that
Great, thanks! I was wondering about why we had an E3 licence assigned to a room and now I know i can get rid of it! Cheers
Thank you Lars for this video. How abt webex meeting? And one more question can MTR device have point to point call with Cisco webex room?
Today it is also possible to do direct guest join with Cisco Webex. You will need to send the invite before the meeting. So no ad hoc calling today. Here is a short description about it: www.linkedin.com/pulse/cisco-webex-call-teams-rooms-lars-berlau/
Is it strictly necessary to have a second smaller touch screen?
I have the same question.. I have installed an MTRoW as an PoC and connected it to an SMART Board 7086R Pro and all I get is the Teams Room "Meeting Managing" Layout and no Camera Layout
@@SchmuFoo It seems that a "single display" teams setup requires two monitors. One large, one small. Where the dual monitor setup requires two main monitors and a small one. I've given up on the single monitor setup, and got a 13" touch monitor as secondary. Quite annoying
@@DKTAz00 Could I use an old Android tablet or windows Surface as a touch screen for the remote? What are the best instructions for doing a DIY teams room?
Hello ! What is the brand of the touch display ?
