I spoke with Martin Brownlow and he never mentioned any build in progress for the Jag. He said he had a doom-like engine that was running 2-3x faster than Doom though but that was the extent. Granted that was quite some time after. As far as it running on the Jag, I could believe it to be fully possible since Martin was an amazing programmer. MC3D tells all, it was insanely fast with the VR headset.

Those speakers look like they from the 80s, they sound excellent. Have you recapped the x overs? I redone my mission 734i speakers with mundorf replacements and they sound stunning!

I got a bootleg of the Happy Drive upgrade for my 1050. I don't think the guy charged me more than $35 (forty years ago) and he even installed it for me. It was great! I'm looking forward to getting this back of Spring Break, along with the first three Atari models and a bunch of other accessories and software that were taken from me when I moved to California thirty years ago.

Not to be a downer, but this looks to perform at the $200-300 level. It's roughly about the performance of an 8 year old gaming laptop, or a 10 year old gaming computer. The graphics core integrated into the newest CPUs today performs similarly (some variation depending on DDR5 speeds used). An RTX 2060 is about twice as fast as the 5500XT. A Ryzen 5800X is 2x-4x the performance of the i7-3770, depending on single vs heavily-threaded loads. The lower CPU frequencies, lower IPC, and limited core counts are becoming a large bottleneck now days, in production apps, and in any AAA game. The CPU in this system is more a bottleneck than the GPU you installed. That said, these old or off-lease SFF and mini-tower workstation PCs are a great value in general. The last one I purchased for $100 a few years ago had a i7-6700 and 8GB of RAM, no HDD. It worked great as a surveillance camera server, using QuickSync from Intel's IGP. Nice basic computers with low TDPs and power consumption. Today I'd look for an off-lease around $100-120 with an i7-9700, for the 8-cores and 4.7GHz max turbo. The i7-9700 is a better match for the 5500XT, for today's games at 1080p.

So you have this running on real hardware which is awesome, but I'm wondering is would it run under emulation or on a Raspberry Pi3? I don't have a Atari 1040STe but I do have a MiSTer setup, so I'll need to give it a try.
