    Michael....I am surprised by your story. I have perceived you as gentle,kind,sensitive. It saddens me you were raised by such a mother and family,in general. I would be elated to call you my Brother. I mean this. I have my own story of abuse;it does harden one,shifts one's perspective about life ,in general. Me??Turned out to be a loner,but extremely intuitive and empathic. not bad. Much respect and love.J.

    Superb sound; lighting needs work. It's probably that light in the bottom-right of the picture causing the camera to overcompensate on the exposure. Try putting lights behind the camera towards your face and pointing any lights behind you to the wall. As you're discovering it takes planning and forethought. Treat this channel as a practicing channel and it'll pay-off in your van-life one. Sound is more important than visuals 90% of the time cos people can still make-out what's happening from sound. Camera and streaming technology will drop frames before dropping sound for that reason. You should be proud, BTW: remarkable progress. And get into a regular sleeping routine!

    Has lapel mic, doesn't connect to camera (again) 🤦‍♀ Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs says you first need the essential physiological needs sorted to reach "self-actualisation": they are food, shelter, warmth. Done. Next is health, safety, security and employment. I'm assuming you're employed so, done. Now you have the building blocks in place to keep climbing and live life again. Well done. PS, if you're going to create a van-life channel, start practicing here first by creating more content, cos if you can't get your lighting, sound and editing right, your van-life channel will be competing with loads that do.

    • @michaelcordes
      @michaelcordes 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I realised I hadn't put my sound to external mic until after recording. I don't script so wasn't going to redo it as I listened and it was acceptable because on the bottom left of your computer screen is a picture of a speaker it's called your volume control. as for Maslow's hierarchy firstly until you've been sleeping rough in the UK you're just flat out insulting anyone whom is, secondly Maslow is wrong shelter is your first priority, the elements are what will kill you the quickest, second is water you will only last 2-3 days at best without water you can go 60 days without food before you die. I appreciate your engagement, views and expert advice but if it offends you that much I'll stop holding a gun to your head and forcing you to watch it. generally my subscribers are more concerned about my journey not the shade of green of my rug so lighting isn't going to stop them following my journey. I've been working on my van life channel for several months because unlike this it isn't a vlog it's going to be a production so the equipment I will be using isn't a 4 year old phone.

    • @TheWhippinpost
      @TheWhippinpost 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@michaelcordes Calm down. Reread what I wrote and with a cool head you might see that it was with your best interests at heart. I have watched many of your vids over this last year, and several times I've had the volume at 100% - not through headphones, through speakers. Please understand people listen in many different environments; driving, on the bus, through loudspeakers etc. You invested in a lapel mic cos you knew it was an issue and I don't think since you've owned it it's been put to good use - maybe once. People will click-out if they can't hear the host and you'll never know, but the algo will. Maslow doesn't state in what order food, shelter, warmth comes in, he uses the words "and": food, shelter *and* warmth. I have been willing you on to get better at this and make something of this channel so you can effectively highlight the message your portraying and hasten the journey you're on. You have the eloquence and intelligence to communicate and help yourself and those who can't. You can utilise this platform to best effect because of that gift. If there's *anything* I wrote that betrays that then that's you being deaf or letting a bad day get in the way of judgement. You should be getting more views: a couple reasons you don't is because of sound and light (and an attitude judging by your response to me). I know you have a lot on your plate, why should you know how the algo works, but there you go - people like to see and hear - it's basic stuff if you think about it - and it's not on them to hang around and adjust settings. I am one of those who do, and it makes for a poor experience. Wishing you luck, food, warmth and shelter, and a growing channel. And breath...

      hi joseph i hope you are well. thankyou for your concern. i'm doing ok i had my probationary assessment for my gas safe registration that some Muppet had tried to sabotage . i passed with flying colours and the inspector said he has no concerns about my knowledge and ability. so that's a huge up yours to the ones who tried to ruin my career that i've spent so long trying to rebuild. recently i've been working on my mental health my ptsd is always ever present i'm trying to learn new coping mechanisms that don't involve illicit substances. i've been keeping up with going back to the gym I'll use the excuse that i'm bulking but at 5'7'' i now weigh the best part of 180ilbs so i think some sort of diet is in order as a lot of my shirts no longer fit! i have new content coming soon with some amazing news and updates, i've just had to keep everything to myself whilst i beat anything my saboteurs try and throw at me. i don't get why they won't just let me live. it's been over 3 years i've admitted my wrongs and owned them, i've worked hard to make amends and do good things that make a difference for others. even if these people knew me personally i no longer resemble the man i was many years ago. for all my wrongs i had my reasons and i stuck to a code there are people in this world that are truly terrible and there is no comparison between who i was and the worst out there. hopefully the trolls will realise they won't win and every time things have been sabotaged i've just come back stronger. big love michael

    I don't think calling homeless people with addiction problems "human excrement" is appropriate. Not when homelessness is beyond crisis levels, the drivers of which you may not understand. Looks like you've got quite a nice set up there. How do you know you won't end up homeless again? No doubt as a fit looking bloke with a sexy voice if that happens some lady will soon offer you a home with her. But not all homeless men get that opportunity.

    I live in a flat but have my personal Homeless kit ready at all times as I've been on the brink of losing my flat several times and had my benefits stopped. I have a waterproof thermal sleeping bag with additional waterproof sleep bag cover. A small easy carry survival kit and all new 100 % waterproof clothes / shoes , all sitting there for several years just in case as things are getting worse with rent / council tax, bills etc . My Daughter and my family have been separated for many years..also I have my Acoustic guitar 🎸 so can busk 7 days a week to hopefully help with money...I am naturally a loner and surviver so prefer to be homeless on my own because also I dont smoke, drink or take drugs, I do have high functioning Autism...hopefully this doesn't happen but I've lost accommodation in the past, and sofa surfed several times for months till I get some benefits or even part time job somewhere...I usually give a homeless person a small amount of spare change or buy them a pie or cakes etc ....😊

Obviously I don't know you personally, but my gut instinct tells me that you're ok and the type of person I would find on the same level. You have tripped up and gone down the wrong path when in very difficult times. I bet I would f*ck up too, if my life fell to pieces like yours obviously had in the past. Hmm, I had a thought. A lot of the woods being dangerous might the size of the country you're in. Is there any real "secluded" areas left on that island ? Maybe in Wales? I would liken it to going into Central Park in NYC and trying to camp there - no thank you. Maybe get way, way out of London, like pick up a map and find a place with no towns for miles each direction, heavily forested, if there is any. I do a lot of stealth camping here in the States and its relatively easy here due to the land available.

    Great video mate. Shamelessly came from the AutoAlex videos, but glad I watched. I justifyable believe there is a proper disconnect between reality and information, one we've all experienced, but haven't had personalised the way it has been since social media came into being. Too many blame the people looking for a better life without realising that poor management of resources isn't the fault of those benefitting; it's a result of those co-ordinating. Trust in political systems has waned significantly in recent years but given that they still make the rules, we should push them to the edge to ensure everyone gets the right outcome. Most people, posed the question without bias or exterior influence, would agree that accepting people into their country is great. It is just the deliberately ignorant who want to push a narrative of EVERYONE not like them is illegal. While undocumented migration is a problem (and would be for ANY country the world over), the violent response is an excuse to caress the demon of desire, not the pursual of solution. All the best, glad to see you're loving the van life big man!
