Wrong! You are cancelling momentum effect of an earthquake by applying a load at the other end than the base. If you applied this at the base this would be what's needed. Knowing software is not necesary same as knowing physics ;)

Thanks for the video. Do you know how to use the Distorted element deletion function available in Abaqus 2020+? I have tried to edit the Input file using (,0.1,0.1,,,) control parameters. But It doesn't seem to work. I have also enabled Element deletion, and I am using a VUMAT for an explicit analysis which aborts at halfway mark due to excessive distortion.

what was the purpose of choosing temperature dependent data and provide data at 600C when you had to give 20 C in predefined field ?
