Corner of Westfield View and North Avenue in Wakefield. Can’t believe this was 34 years ago !!!!
Allô. Ça c'est une moto. Les autres ne sont que des motos. Mais, Motards.
I have a X5 and they are the best bikes ever. I have heaps of modern bikes but always love my wee Suzi the most.
That was my pride and joy. I spent loads of money on that bike and time. It was mint 👍🏻 It was amazing to ride, so light and nimble. I had so much fun on it. Why did I sell it for £300 back then 😩😩
Awesome!! 😊😊
😂😂 love it 💪💪👌
He woulda been having the time of his life then on that bike 😊
😅😅 I didn't know they had legs 😂
lovely video!
Don't like the logo on his back..
I wouldn’t wear that now , I’m 34 years older lol 😂 but back then it was in memory of a friend who’d lost his life in a road accident, bless him. His name was Shaun Johnson, he was 26 and from Streethouse. Thanks for watching the video 👍🏻
@@Teddydodge55 God bless him and you
Children playing outside? Surely not!
I had one
I wanted an RD 250 in 1977 but just couldn’t afford one, £1200 and I was on £20 a week.
KH400 running Belray smelt gorgeous....
Brilliant 👍👍👍👍 giving it a fist full
Is he stilll alive!
Couldn't afford one then can't afford one now
Telling your younger siblings “just hold the bloody camera still and point it there! Don’t move!” 😂😂
I recognised the location instantly. I’ve a mate lives in that end house 🙂
Top of North Avenue, back of Pinderfields hospital in Wakefield 👍🏻😁
Take me back to 1989 please teddy 👍🏼
Grubby little urchins.
Happy days 1970’s classic Japanese bikes. NO SMOKE, NO POKE.
When the World was nicer.
Sound like Yorkshire lads
....they don't make 'em like that anymore!
Worth the wait
They were great for pulling wheelies, mine had allspeed pipes on with k&n air filters. Good old days.
Bloody fantastic bit of film and history. Good wheelie to boot!
I bought one when I was still at school with my milk round money about 1983 for £140 wish I still had it
All the X7 guys I knew had the Sheene replica fairing kits fitted. I personally had a Z250 Kork Ballington replica which was as slow as chuff (4 stroke) so I got rid and bought an LC. Best handling bike EVER!
You could ask it to wheelie and it would so lite but great fun.
I had a old Yammaha 50, Mako 440, mz
At the local chippy two RD400s regularly wheelied past. One of them once arrived with his leg in plaster, but dissapointly no wheelies that day 😅 memories stick 😊
😂😂😂 ❤
It was a lot of fun and I made lots of freinds with little bikes but now I am getting old and far too many of them didn't make it this far all from crashes.
Whaaaa crazy fast wheely!!
My RD250-E was faster than any X7
Magic
Reminds of a guy we recently lost in a bike accident. Witnessed him many years ago as kids doing a very similar thing on his ram air gt250. The shower of sparks and inevitable crash with torn denim and scuffed skin was a sight to behold. Rip legend.
Used to see the lads impressing the girls out front of school on these...leaving a trail of blue smoke and castrol 'T' if you could afford that stuff! 😉 😂
I have an X7 GT250 in my shed. Loads of noise, feels fast, great fun. Terrible brakes and actually slow lol. But for a first bike it was a blast!
Nice wheelie .. Not a mobile phone in sight..video recorder.. wind down car Windows... . ACE !
I had an X5 GT200 that the cops thought was a 125, I miss those days.
Yam DT the same All running around with tuned 175s
GOOD LAD. 😂😂😂
super is this chap still alive
Remember a lad with a Yamaha rd 350 pulling a wheelie past the school bus, remember thinking you can’t get cooler than that 😊😊
Nice one happy days
We were all carefree back in the day. Great times!!
When that power band comes in, just amazing 🤩 I rode for hours on end , I’ve had so many bikes the RD was the one 👊🏽🫡
Takes meback to myyouth
45 yr old footage clear as day but use modern recorders when seeing bigfoot.....🤷
