I read through the first 15 volumes of the Manga this month.

Honestly the best part of the franchise. Hunt for the Dragon Balls is a fun start to the story and it works as a short adventure. The 21st Tenkaichi Budokai added the martial arts aspect of DB and provided Goku’s motivation for the rest of the franchise. The Red Ribbon Army arc is the best arc in all of Dragon Ball such a great and emotional arc which ends with Goku getting to reunite with Gohan. 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai is my favorite tournament arc, Tenshinhan is such a great villain and his development during the arc realistic and honorable. Piccolo Daimao provides the spectacle that would be seen in Z, I didn’t enjoy that arc too much but Goku vs Piccolo was still peak. 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai was Goku finally reaching the top of the mountain, great combat and shows just how far Goku had come since the beginning of the series. I enjoy Z and I tolerate both Super and GT but none of them compare to Classic Dragon Ball imo.
