Camaro 6 BCM overheat fix
มุมมอง 4.2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Had some issues at the track with a bunch of random codes and limp mode. Found the BCM in the trunk to be pretty hot. I cooled it off and had no more issues that day. This is a quick simple fix to help cool the BCM in the trunk when tracking in hot weather.
Gen 6 Camaro Rear Harness Relocation Because of Tire Rub, Wheel well
มุมมอง 2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Quick little video showing you what harness to relocate in the driver's side rear wheel well. When Gen 6 track cars are running wider tires, the tires can eventually rub through the fender liner, damaging the connector underneath. If the tire rubs through the harness, it can ground out the wires, causing the car's electronics to go berserk.

Great detailed video 👍🏽👍🏽 ,, for me I would never but a heavier exhaust on my car even if the sound was great
The way you set the piston in, there was probably an air bubble inside hampering cleaning action..
Great video wish you could do my zl1 !!!!! I don't know anyone in st Louis that could do it .
I own this exact cleaner. My recommendation is to get a short length of garden hose to attach to the drain valve. Run the hose to a 5 gallon bucket it makes emptying and flushing the ultra sonic cleaner much easier.
@@mikefisc9989 excellent advice!
carb cleaner works better if you can find the 5 gallon size
Sir, thanks for the video. I recommend getting a lavalier mic. The echo and distance in your audio is a bit distracting.
Definitely grabbing one of these
Looks very similar to a Hornady L-n-L I bought a few years back for quite a bit more than the HF offering. Also looks like Vevor makes a similar format. I have been happy with mine and am sure the HF will work as well. I was really surprised at how hot the solution would get during use. Certainly a shop “must have” for small parts cleaning.
You need the "Tub of towels" from harbor freight they are good tool wipes.
@@Dcw-rp6ib I’ll give them a try!
Thank you for the video. Do you plan on doing a follow up?
Yes I do, this is the first season we are racing on them so I will do a follow up probably this winter when we go thru and freshen everything up on the car
@@trackcarzllc awesome. Sounds good!
Does this wire has something to do with the pcm on the other video of urs
It can…the PCM and body control modules all talk to each other. If one overheats or gets a hit by a tire and damages a wire, weird error messages can pop up on the dash. Everything from ABS to airbag to e-diff to battery errors can happen
Those downshifts are ear porn!
Year and a half? I have china tools older than that
Nice driving Bud 🏎️🙂
My rear wheel is turned inward a bit it’s so slight I’m trying to figure out which one of these arms is bent
What gps tracker/camera are you using?
It’s the OEM PDR built into the car…you can get them in Camaros and Corvettes
I have a 2017 Z06. Can you be more specific? Are you running it in conjunction with an app to get the overlays?
The cars have PDR (Performance Data Recorder) built into them from the factory. The Camera is located up behind the mirror and all the data is pulled from the car’s computer. The gps tracks it automatically when you activate the PDR. The car has built in software that overlays all the data with the camera view, so you don’t have to do anything. The is a little slot under the dash near your left knee that you insert an SD card into. Then you go into main screen on the media center, go into Performance Data Recorder, and a start/stop menu pops up. The only thing you have to do on track is set the start finish line the first time you drive over it, then it properly logs all the laps with correct lap times. It’s a really slick system GM developed and is a great learning tool. Not all Camaros and Bette’s have the PDR option installed, I believe it was a standalone option at the time.
Man, you’re awesome. I have it and found it. I really appreciate the help and maybe I’ll see you at Dominion soon.
Does'nt the shock now bottom out before the bump stop?
What about premature wear concerns ? Any issues with alignments ? Also , I have the base model . Same set up ?
Did you have any additional modifications on your suspension?
Yea, lots...Electron Sport JRI Coilovers, all SPL links in the front, some SPL links in the back, BMR adjustable toe links, Hotchkis sway bars...probably a few other things I am forgetting
Nice clear video!
Does this exhaust setup have HFC’s or nah?
Nope
The grips clean up really well with WD40 on a paper towel
Did this end up fixing it ? Having the same on my 2019 ss where I’m driving goes into stabili and limp mode and get a whole bunch of loss communication codes
It did fix it for that day…also check the harness connector behind the left rear wheel, up behind the fender liner. Sometimes that can be problematic
I used a floor jack with an 8 inch 1/2 inch extension to get the stubborn bullets to seat all the way, had to use my feet to pump the jack handle but it worked great after some trial and error since I did mine on the floor of my garage.
Any more road noise after installing these?
Very helpful, thanks!
What tires? Thanks
I think those were the GY SC3s
I was working turn 11 that day. The most impressive car and driver I've seen at Dominion
Was that a ZL1 or a ZLE originally?
Just an SS 1LE
@@trackcarzllc lol I guess that's what I meant.
Did the front end links give you any problems? I just did my lift yesterday, and that extension was the biggest issue I had. In fact, I'm not 100% I've got them tight enough.
I honestly don’t remember them giving me an issue
How livable/drivable is this cam? Thinking about getting it.
Slight surging at parking lot speeds, but not bad at all on the street. I would consider it livable
@@trackcarzllc I decided on a BTR stage 2 V2. It is very livable and runs almost as smooth as stock. I love it. Tuning it now. I love how this video shows your timing advance. It gives me an idea where to head with my timing maps. Super helpful. I have a 2014 camaro SS with long tubes and the btr cam plus lots of supporting upgrades. Thanks for the vid!
Thanks.. Just did this on jack stands.. Hardest part was getting the car off the ground... Maybe an hr of work just because the pins fought a little bit.. Mine didnt come with instructions so this video was great !!
Great video, what are the torque values?
I was out there that day in the blue ss1le your car sounded fantastic. Very quick car.
Do you feel any improvements after this??
car looked and sounded amazing
I don't like the basket. it is inconvenient when you want to take it out.
Great job: Your car sounds Awesome!!
Does vehicle has to be aligned afterwards?
I recommend it but you may get lucky. All of the control arms are suspended from the subframe, so if you lower it from the car, it might not go back up in the exact location it dropped from. It’s not gonna be anything major and you probably won’t notice it visually, but it definitely could lead to some premature tire wear or adverse handling at the limit. For as expensive as these rear tires are, I’d recommend a good alignment afterwards.
Thanks for posting the video. Helped me with my installation today.
Did you have to get it tuned after installation?
No, not with just a cat back
Was you experiencing a cranking but no start?
Love my icon stuff! I use my ¼ & ⅜ flex heads all the time, now that theyve been used for about a year theyre well broken in & buttery smooth. Absolutely great rachets for what i need them for
What model is Camaro SS or lt ?
SS
Sounds amazing!! What kind of setup do you have there?
8:50 Ask ME how I know 😅 Same
Thanks for making this video. Just installed this kit and for anyone wondering you should be able to do this install with the exhaust on of you have aftermarket mufflers. I think you could still do it with the stock big suitcase but it will probably be annoying to do the rear.
Can you post some more videos of your car although I’m not doing a stroker I will be doing fbo with a cam on this muffler setup!
Can i ask what brake pads/rotors you use to avoid any ice mode?
I run the Girodisc rotors with Hawk DTC 70s all the way around
carz with a z, how unique. 🙄
Holy shit 🙌🏻 finally someone broke down and explained the suspension! Thank you 🫵🏻…subscribed!
