    Brandon's acting as Quintus on Ramah's death scene was **chef's kiss** one of the best in portraying a Roman! (Kirk's Gaius comes very close second, to add.)

    Quintus is, BY FAR, my favorite. There are well-cast essentials (Roumie), but the artistic risks of Potter's eccentricities compel me to scootch closer to the screen when he comes on. I've known guys like Quintus; he's authentic to me. I cannot get enough...

    Went through a series of technical issued in this one. Camera stopped recording and corrupted the file half way through, so we had to start over. Managed to partially restore the file, but it's still pretty messed up. Used some parts of it though. Then an issue with the shutter speed on my camera, which led to a weird and very motion blurry image. But nevertheless pretty happy with the episode. Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

    Funny thing is, I know a woman who talks in this stereotypical Russian accent. Some differences, but generally the same. So stereotypes come from somewhere, but they’re vast generalisations

    • @BeyondReelTalk
      @BeyondReelTalk หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I know. My brother lived in the US for 7 years, has the strongest accent I've ever heard. But still, there's big difference. It's very strong, but actual pronunciation is different. One of the best Russian accents I remember in mainstream movies was done by Florence Pugh in Marvel. It's very prominent but not caricature.

    • @BeyondReelTalk
      @BeyondReelTalk 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure what exactly you mean. There's plenty of commercial castings going on. And films too. I guess more TV than film but just because the amount of TV shows is huge right now and every TV show goes on for several years sometimes, so they by default need more actors.

      @@BeyondReelTalk Of course! Thank you for some very interesting questions. I think my personal favorite was (not really a question) but yall talking about self criticism in acting, was very interesting to listen to. It’s funny… because as a fan such as myself and others like me never really think about that yall go through these emotions and self awareness, as actors. Because you are still, just human. You’re very awesome for asking these questions! Xx

I saw you are still experimenting with format, and I’d agree you can probably limit the preview intro to 5 seconds or less, rather than 30 seconds or so. One. Shocking line or phrase, then start the real video. Looks like some of your videos had some blow up at over 1,300 views. That’s fantastic for your subscriber count! I guess if you are shooting some extremely expensive stunt that can only get 1 or 2 takes without bankrupting the whole movie then they have to use Red or other expensive hardware.
