The harrowing plight of an unrepentant criminal, annoyed his victims can't just forget about it and move on. Gaslighting, manipulative, waste of life.

The New Zealand Herald, Radio New Zealand and many other reputable sources have written about the reasons that John Cameron and the church board were investigated and then resigned. Which was a very, very good thing.

There is a lot of public reporting available for people to see the abuse that occurred at Arise church. John is an abuser who has taken no accountability for his actions. Not someone anyone should look to for leadership.

Some important context I feel is missing from this video, regarding why John Cameron left his former church, from a story by journalist David Farrier: “Hundreds of victims came forward to detail allegations of sexual and physical abuse, exploitation, racism, and financial mismanagement at Arise. When it became clear that publishing their stories would be a damning indictment on the church and particularly its most senior leaders, founder John Cameron then tried to block publication with threats of legal action.” This has all been publicly reported. Please do your own research and judge for yourself.

Just saw this video and was shocked to see that John Cameron is “preaching” again. Albeit it in a different forum. Having attended “Arise” church several times when I was new to Wellington and been constantly accosted by other members via phone calls, messages, and even drive bys. They demanded money, regular attendance, initiation events and pouring out of my personal story. None of which I felt comfortable with. This led me to keep an eye on the church over the following years and I wasn’t surprised to hear about the abuse perpetuated over the years. Somehow I’ve kept the hope and kept the faith and still believe. But I believe in the Trinity ..: not a powerful church with a powerful figurehead doing their version of Christianity.

i was a part of john’s church and i never felt closer to god as when i was babysitting his kids for free, picking up his groceries, getting yelled at about the lighting setup, and chased down the hallway by his brother! the lessons he left a generation of kids is something we will never recover from

I have a question? I have a friend who i met flatting and they shared about how they were in ministry helping with kids and as a support role and now grieving the loss of a family member. How can you care and make sure they are good? What can you do to be there for them when they may not like happy music being played?

You don’t build by abusing people, & we need to stop building church around a single person! We damage people in the name of building the kingdom of God.

I also wanted to say to John that the person that came at you (we know it wasn't him - satan uses any vessel he can find), we need to pray for him. He came after me too for defending you. What you said about when you and Gillian pastored and counseled people and that she went to "what happened to you when you were 8 years old"... that person is that person that needed that counsel then and I pray that this leads him to finding it x

Love you and Gillian John. You are both amazing. When I was a new born again believer in what then was CLCA you were my favourite person to listen to share the Word. I am grateful for the seed you watered in my spirit then and also that my best friend found the Lord because I found the Lord and was watered by you. She is part of Arise because I knew in Christchurch there was an Arise Church so reached out to them to cover her and help her flourish. If you hadn't followed the Lord's calling that watered me and you hadn't planted a church in the city she moved to so I knew where to reach out to for her... I don't know if she would still be saved. .. Yet because of all of that, she is still a part of that church and growing, not only her, but her three children are being brought up with the Word because of all of this story too. Arise has her there because of the seed you watered in me, that led me to lead her to Jesus. Forever and ever and ever grateful for you.

Fear can also be healthy. A protect method. Fear of man needs to be taken out. Fear of God is awe, reverance but also extends to a fear of losing your proximity to him.

Rich you can’t just make up excuses on what John did. Leaders don’t use there interns and drain them, they don’t use them to do there gardens, they don’t abuse people. There needs to be accountability and there is none
