Hello everyone! I decided to take my love for travel a little farther than just my usual photography, and will be creating some short videos of the things I see when I explore. To my family and friends at home, thank you so much for all of your support and kind words over the years, and I hope these videos give you a chance to see more of the world through my adventures.
Alnwick Castle Day Tour
For my last day in Scotland I booked a day tour with Timberbush Tours down to Alnwick, England. We made a couple small stops through the day as well, including the Holy Island to see Lindisfarne Castle, and Bamburgh Castle. It was a whirlwind day, so much so that I forgot my phone on the bus at one point!

The 5th and final day of my Hairy Coo Tour; Culloden, Clava Cairns, and St Andrews
มุมมอง 20014 วันที่ผ่านมา
The FINAL day of our tour started in Inverness where we made the short trek to the Battlefield of Culloden and spent close to an hour wandering the grounds. With our small van we were then able to make a quick stop at the Clava Cairns, and followed it up with lunch in Pitlochry. Our last stop of the tour was a few free hours in St Andrews, where I didn't make it to the golf course, but I did cl...
Day 2 of 5 on the Hairy Coo tour: Glencoe and Lochs
มุมมอง 542หลายเดือนก่อน
I realized that my original upload had gone awry, so here is the second (and completed) rendition. Day 2 started in Oban and ended on the Isle of Skye. We drove through Glencoe, made a stop at Loch Shiel and the Glenfinnan Viaduct, tried whisky at the Ben Nevis distillery, and two quick stops at the Commando Memprial and Eilean Donan Castle.
Day 4 of 5 on the Hairy Coo tour: dipping our toes into the highlands
มุมมอง 693หลายเดือนก่อน
On day 4 we set off from Inverness and made our way north into the highlands. We took a short hike at Rogie Falls to watch fish jump up the river and enjoy the short but soothing waterfall. From there, we continued to Corrieshalloch Gorge, which had the BEST bathrooms on our entire journey. After a short hike and a stomach fluttering bridge cross, we viewed the incredible falls into the deep go...
Day 3 of 5 on the Hairy Coo tour; Isle of Skye
มุมมอง 2482 หลายเดือนก่อน
Amidst the wind and rain, we braved the Isle of Skye to witness a truly magical landscape. We made stops at Bride's Veil Falls, Lealt Falls, Kilt Rock, Mealt Falls, the Quiraing Lookout, Fairy Glen, and lunch in Portree. We made a pitstop in Plockton for a seal tour, and ended the day in Inverness.
Day 1 of 5 on the Hairy Coo Tour in Scotland
มุมมอง 5984 หลายเดือนก่อน
The first day of my 5 day Scotland tour started off with a detour from the get go. The itinerary called for a stop in Glasgow, but since we had no travelers to pick up and there were delays along the highway, we went a little off course. Enjoy day 1! I linked the company I used below. www.thehairycoo.com/
Edinburgh, Scotland; Arrival day and city walkaround
มุมมอง 7K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
For my birthday this year I decided to go back to my favorite country, bonnie wee Scotland. I purposefully planned an extra day before my 5 day tour so that I could relax in Edinburgh and soak in the beauty that is this city.
The Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica
มุมมอง 3324 หลายเดือนก่อน
Our last tour before the folks headed back. We did a Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica tour and it was busy!! On this day, I learned how poorly my GoPro stabilizes in dark spaces, so I apologize for the shakiness. I also blame part of it on the number of people and how often we were jostled while inside. Visiting in the summer may seem like a good idea, but it was HOT and there were thousands of...
Colosseum and Roman Forum tour: Rome, Italy
มุมมอง 1955 หลายเดือนก่อน
Our first big tour in Rome was at the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. It was HOT!! We rested up by hopping on a Big Bus Tour to check out other parts of the city. I booked our tour through GetYourGuide, with Crown Tours. Our tour guide, Lara, was fantastic!
Day 2 in Salzburg, Austria - Salzburg Cathedral
มุมมอง 1485 หลายเดือนก่อน
Since we got rained out of our Berchesgaten tour, we explored a bit more this day. I tried to visit a museum, which was also closed, so we all ventured into the Cathedral instead.
Fortress Hohensalzburg and Salzburg, Austria
มุมมอง 1166 หลายเดือนก่อน
My folks came to visit so we took a few days to explore Salzburg Austria. While my stepmom and her friend shopped, the guys and I trekked up to Hogensalzburg Fortress. I've started playing with a GoPro, bare with me as I transition away from my phone haha

Watch my failed attempt to ride all of the rides in the Disney park on Chriatmas Day. The foot traffic was INSANE! I had big plans, but they fell through. It was still an incredible day.

Needs more dreich! 🤭
As a local, I find it highly offensive that you mentioned Outlander, and you can't even get the names of the fighting forces correct 😮 Highlander has nothing to do with the Battle
Im sorry to have upset you! Can you give me a short lesson? I'd love to learn the history better, as I was just getting bits and pieces from small signs
Love watching it:) Thank you for sharing
I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for watching 😊
Hi, im from Edinburgh and i live not far from Holyrood Palace and iv just came across this, very good well done but theres lots and lots still to see in Edinburgh
I visited Holyrood last Christmas and it was amazing! I was bummed I couldn't take pictures of the trees they had inside
@@TheBookishTravelNerd why not ?
@@akdstralisjnr4002 I'm not sure if it's all year round, but they had signs for no photography. If I remember correctly, it was to protect the privacy of those who still utilize the palace sometimes
@ yeah i think its a security thing, iv asked people here in the radio station and thats what they think too
Thank you for sharing. I love the Scottish Highlands.
A very honest, true and charming portrayal of my homeland. You should work for the ‘Visit Scotland’. Haste ye back. Thanks for sharing.
I truly love Scotland, it is GORGEOUS! And everyone is always so friendly 😭❤️
Sorry about the weather, we will try and do better on your next visit. 😉💙
Hahahahaha i actually enjoy cooler weather! The misty atmosphere makes the landscape much more mystical
Brilliant video Heather! I really enjoyed it.... I'm looking forward to number 3...
That church /cemetery looks eerie haha The castle 😍 super cool!
Also… at the 17:30 mark you show the Heart of Midlothian, that shows where the old jail used to be and also where the gallows where. The locals never walk on it as it’s seen as bad luck and they also spit on it to ward off any evil spirits that may still be lurking there. Jut across the road and up a wee bit is the Deacon Brodie pub, Deacon Brodie is the real person that the story of Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde is based on
I knew not to step on it, but couldn't remember the full history and meaning, thank you for the information!
S,much history there and much of it gory…. Not wanting to give you the heebie jeebies but looks like your hotel was next door to where Burke and Hare lived….. I’ll let you google them lol
Oh no lolol I'm kind of scared to check 😅

Best wishes on your birthday and those yet to come .from Scotland .
Thank you! It was an amazing trip ❤️
That cemetary is for the church of Sankt Sebastien. Mozart's family is buried to the left of that central path, on the way to Bishop Wolf Dietrich's mausoleum. Afterwards, before you hit the Staatsbruecke, was the Linzergasse, which is the neighbourhood in which I lived (1982-83). I lived at Priesterhausgass 6. Btw, its pronounced "Salt-s-burg," not "Salssburg." My bank was to the left of the fountain (next to the cathedral). I haven't been back since 1999. God, I miss it so.
It was my first time there and I loved it!
I am the first to comment here. Hey Heather, do you remember where that store (trains/toys) is? Cause I have been for two times in Salzburg and I've never seen one like that. Nice work! Daniel from Rio de Janeiro.
Hi! I'll drop the Google Maps link below, but it was called: Hobby-Sommer GesmbH & CO KEG haha it was very clean, had a lot of different models, cars, and accessories, and the man working there was VERY helpful! maps.app.goo.gl/rdYHHUgM6yym92H67
Do not get the late bus it’s pandemonium no queuing it’s feral
Six months later, the "feral" bit still makes me chuckle when I see it hahahaha
"Promosm" 🙄

Nice walk Heather - some great sights around a great city
How lucky I came across this video! I’ll be going to Denmark in about 10 days from now. And I’m pretty sure I booked the same hotel that you got. Your video is very informative and I can’t wait to see everything
The hotel was in a great location, and the staff was very friendly and helpful! Have a great trip!
I've really enjoyed your video! Sound and video editing impressed. Btw thanks for ideas of location for visiting ;) May I ask about camera you're using and stabilaser?
For this trip I was just using my Samsung S23+ with no stabilizer! I do have a gimble but I haven't used it yet.
Oh yes, Sweden's first submarine 🙂
😂😂😂
@@TheBookishTravelNerd I don't know if you know that we tease each other here in Scandinavia plus Finland, our weird little brother, 🙂 You should hear the Swedes tell Norway jokes, it's on another level. I think it is a national hobby. Sooner or later, there will come a Swedish response to my comment. Just wait and see.
You need to go to Billund. Lego house and Lego land is there. Both might be too much for one day, but it is very good both of them. EDIT: YT video "Inside LEGO House, Denmark's tribute to the famous brick | CNBC Reports"
As a beginner, this video was peeerfeeeeect! Stable camera movements and kind narration below that. You have talent to continue this vlog further and further. I am not a vlogger at all, but I want to evolve there as well. What I can suggest, watch some videos about the transitions, camera movements, video and sound effects, etc. These will lift up your videos a lot in the future! Nice job, Heather, nice job! Liked and subscribed, of course 😊
Thank you for the suggestions!!
Those leaders you talked about at Amalienborg, is the Royal family. I don't know if you are still in town, but since you are into books, you should visit The Black Diamant (Den sorte Diamant), it is the royal library.
I'm not, but I plan on going back and spending a full day at Tivoli, so I'll add this to my list! Thank you!
