I think it’s so interesting, because people that believe in judicial restraint may agree and want for the laws to be changed, but they’re handing it down to local levels with the hope that people can rule themselves well through elected officials. Considering that federal judges are appointed, and not elected by the public, I think this is a very fair general rule (though of course, it shouldn’t always be followed).
