The Sigma 28-70 F2.8 L mount is the perfect zoom lens to use with the Dji Ronin 4D. It is very compact and lightweight so it works very well, even on car rigs like the Tilta Hydra Alien, you can Zoom in and out without losing balance. If you like this video please leave a comment :D

I pulled the trigger and bought the DJI RONIN 4D. I think this might be my favorite camera so far.
Can you please upload a video of how you set up the focus wheel to zoom instead of focus. Having a lot of trouble with that
What is the size of the Tilta Focus Gear Ring? I'm having trouble finding the measurements? I don't have this lens to measure it, but want to buy it for this setup.

Congratulations on purchase. I want to buy some cine lenses for narrative films. What lenses have you managed to test out that give some sort of character? and what lenses give it that cinematic quality? Any help appreciated

Hey could you answer something for me? Is the Lidar suppose to light up?….because my Lidar system does not light up the two flashing lights….
Hi, sure. The lidar flashing is only seen in camera, you can’t see it with your eyes. You can point your smartphone camera to it and see it 👌

do you need to buy additional accessory to mount the dji focus pro unit? I have the Tilta cage
No. If you have the tilta cage or any cage you can mount the Dji focus pro.

I find that my zoom lens does not work with the focus motor anymore due to it recognizing that it’s an autofocus lens. Did you have issues with this? I was using tamron 28-75
You have to assign the focus motor to work as a zoom motor. Mine works great
Can you tell me which size I have to order for the tilta gear?
I ordered the full pack from Amazon. I can’t remember the exact size :/
I found this so helpful! I’m using the 17 - 28 DJI - I find it’s really noisy and it’s just to wide! I’m having to shoot in super 35 just to get that extra reach. Your review has made it clear this will be super helpful! Did you find the focus works ok? My experience with the E mount for DJI was horrendous but I really want to be able to work with something like this. ❤

I don’t have it to test it but it might be too front heavy.
Great contents and wonderful video! Really helpful! For the issue of the length of the extension cable, a good solution is to use two cables connecting each other and reach a maximum of 6 meters!

Good day, when it comes to the auto-focus, is it plug & play like the DL lenses? No need to calibrate and will work at any zoom level (which is an issue with most Sony zooms for the Ronin 4d)?

What about adjusting both the zoom and focus simultaneously, especially with non-parafocal lenses?
You need to have a parfocal lens. The sigma 28-70 is almost parfocal and works great. I bought it last week and it performs very well. I will post a video soon.

@@BillMcdad This LiDAR is included with the Ronin 4D camera in the box. If you mean the DJI RS 3 Pro LiDAR, it is sold separately. There is new DJI RS 4 Pro, which can be used with a newer, better LiDAR that is also sold separately.

Awesome and informative video, I believe you said that you can use the focus motor from the RS3 Pro in place of the 4D focus motor? Are you sure about that and if so how? When I plugged my focus motor from my Rs3 Pro it wasn't receiving power, please elaborate .
I think I read about somewhere that is possible to use the rs3 motor instead. Are you on the latest firmware ?

Hey Filipe! Really nice video! I am binging every video there is on TH-cam right now on the Ronin 4D because I am heavily thinking about getting one.. There are only a FEW things that are still making me think whether I should get an FX6 instead but I am so in love with this camera.... I have a few questions and hope you can help: 1. since the LiDAR only reaches up to 10 meters, is there any way to focus to infinity or will it never focus when you point it to something super far away? 2. The number one thing that still makes me think is that the 120 fps in 4K crops to 2.39:1 instead of 17:9 and I am wondering how much quality you are losing when you crop the 2.39:1 back to 17:9 because you already only have 1712 pixels in height in 2.39:1 - what is your experience with this? I shoot a lot of fast movement and often use slow-motion 3. how bad is the rolling shutter really? I think it is definitely noticeable when you know, but then on the other hand I noticed that the RED Komodo e.g. that has a global shutter looks way more "stuttery" when panning fast from left to right, even though the lines are straighter... 4. Do you only need the DJI ssd to shoot ProRes raw or also for pro res HQ? Muito obrigado in advance brother, have a great day.
Hi Phill, thant you for your words. I have been there too. I think I watched every TH-cam video too 😅 1 - if things are very far away usually I use MF and pull focus by myself, it is super easy to manually pull focus on this camera. But u can also use AMF and override the AF, it also works very well. 2 - you won’t lose a lot of quality if you do that but you will need to think ahead for you composition. 3 - the rolling shutter is only noticeable if you pan very quickly, but I saw a lot of movies that have that on their shots, I think we can see it but 90% of the people won’t notice that if they aren’t told what it is. I can live with that, it’s the same rolling shutter of my S5ii so it’s not that bad, specially it you shoot s35. 4 - you can shoot ProRes HQ without the ssd but if you want ProRes RAW you will need the SSD. Really nice shots in the video! I shoot a lot of cars aswell, and gonna shot a lot of interior for an upcoming project using the 4d flex. Did u use a jib or is it hand held the shot 52 sec in your video? We are planinng on using dolly and slider/ubangi but if you are doing it handheld I might change my mind! It's my first big project with the ronin but from my initial test the system works great! One moore question. How to you calibrate the focus motor to the zoom but still keep the control on focus aswell?
Thanks 🙏 it’s good to have feedback 🙌 that’s all handheld, and that was one of the selling points for me with this camera. I used the 18mm lumix for that and shot 50fps. When you calibrate the focus motor to zoom you can switch from zoom to focus on the right handle, I used the AF for this shots. Also it only works for AF lenses. I hope this was helpful . You will love the camera, but please use a support rig 🙌

I just planning to buy one, just still haven't decided the 6K or 8K version is better for me
The 8K will give you acesse to better shadows and cleaner image, but a lot of storage is needed as the codecs options are more limited. Is a tough decision.
And the frame rates on the 8k are way better. Really tough decision. But when I'm ready to buy, I'd go for the 8k
