Finding the "Best" Speaker for HO Scale | NMRAx Clinic
มุมมอง 1.3K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This video is noticeably different than my usual "cover a topic in 5 minutes" style of video, but I think it turned out quite well. Look anywhere on the internet and you'll find debate over which kind of speaker is "the best"? Well, I wanted to answer that question on a budget of $0 - and I've done just that! So, take a look at the live NMRAx clinic which aired this past Saturday, where I prese...

John Abatecola Interview | TSG Multimedia | Beginnings to Today
As a prairie boy, I can explain why the coal load was increased. Coal was not stored at every yard due to yard size restrictions in most small Canadian towns. Water was available in each town so crew's could water as needed but had to travel extended distances with only the coal on board. With short tenders the extended range was much needed.
Now that I have seen the entire video, my compliments on the detail given and the fun towns and the map that help a local guy like me visualize all the detail. A really great job. Thanks so much. Bob
TRAINS let’s go
Me in the USA with the Rápido UK Stirling Single ( x2 ), 15xx, Titfeild Thunderbolt, and a jones goods on order
Esquimalt..... (Esck- Qu-why- Malt) and Naniamo (NA-Nie-Mo) A town that became a suburb of Victoria BC, located on the south shore of Vancouver Island.
Three words…Scale Sound Systems. Saves a lot of time and effort with high quality speakers designed specifically for the model
SMH none of those horns you said in the video are what came from the sound decoder. And it's not a version 5, it is an essential sound unit
Looks great Drew! Very insightful!
jon did a face reveal ?
I have two of those tankers
I appreciate when manufacturers make complete manuals for the decoders available for download. And with the complexity of all the features mapped in tehre I wish the different manufacturers would sit together and harmonize more of these features so that as a modeler it is easier to work with different brands. I make this comment constantly since I wish more millennials would fancy the hobby. Simplicity is key. Another huge topic is downloading decoder firmware as well as sound files without a manufacturer specific programmer board. And yet another suggestion is to clarify weather DCC ready means DCC only or if soundboards and a space for a speaker is built in.
The rails went straight East-West. The orange Sun raised right over the tracks, slicked with shinning morning dew, in the tropics the Sun raises fast but just on time out of Sun came the RDC, swinging gently left to right on its suspension system, gleeming ss.. childhood memories of an island on its way to Marxist hell. Not long after, a nasty Soviet engine towed the RDC converted to a sad passenger car, windows removed for ventilation in suffocating heat. Time to leave.. Yes there were RDCs in Cuba, brought in prior to 1959, air conditioned confort, sleek delights...
People need to realize, on the Y6b, the exhaust should be CONSTANTLY synchronized (does not sound "articulated") EXCEPT when starting out from a standstill. "Simple" articulation was only used for maximum tractive effort when starting a heavy train. After gaining a little speed, the Y6B would switch to COMPOUND operation, where the rear cylinders exhausted into the front "low pressure" cylinders in order to "use steam twice". Therefore, under normal operation, the Y6B sounded like a normal 2 cylinder steam locomotive, no "offset exhaust"! You would only hear the exhaust from the FRONT CYLINDERS...I wonder if Paragon 4 knows this...🤔 In other words, the Y6B, as well as any other compound "Mallet" type locomotive, almost NEVER sounded like a four cylinder engine...! It would be more accurate on a Y6 (or any other "Y") to program the chuffs for no double-chuffs at all...👍
Would this Alco pa work on a dcc ez command center bc I wanna get it but I don't have the money for a power cab rn sadly lol thanks for the awesome video.
Hello Drew, I hope you are doing well, long time no see!!
Thanks. I really love those two heavyweight coaches. Would love to see a whole consist of them. March 23, 2022.
great product and enginering now what? fun stuff keep it coming
Nice Tribute. This was very cool.
Thank you Drew
A very nice tribute to this gentleman's work. Good to see you're back, Drew!
g scale,, man that is a dream, that the wife just keeps shouting down
Hopefully Rapido will do a RDC 4.
With what Sam said towards the end, it occurred to me that mastodon models are nonexistent. Even if it were just 475, that opens things up for the N&W Ms.
Ghhhgghhhhhhhhhhhjjjjjjhhhhhhhhhh OPI
Nice review. I just received my Santa Fe PA-1 & PB today. Having fun with it so far. Only ran the Locomotive A unit. Keep up the great work.
Do You own any of the Bachmann Thomas Ho or G scale Models
Nice
Drew, watched this again. Great shots, great editing.
Kool interview Dew. Nice episode.
I'm stoked about you doing the Southern E8s! With the roof "torpedos" tanks! I have 3 preordered in fact. Don't tell my wife. But. Why did you do 6901 and 6905 when Walthers just did those a year or two ago! Argh!! Plenty of other units to choose from! Especially 6900.
A lot of information about the Canadian Cab, thanks guys!
Awesome Presentation!!! I am not a true "Steam" fan. I only model diesel locomotives.
Awesome video Drew, pretty stout looking locomotive!
Awesome, I hope they make it in n nscale eventually as well! Didn't realize their h.o. models were that detailed.
Highly informative production by you & Tony Cook-Many Thanks
Ay your camera works now lol.
Yeah haha. This video was recorded before I got my current computer. The M1 Macs just seem a little off in terms of... functioning 😂
@@DrewatNorDelMRRC Oh, For sure.
Funny you mention the home road acquisitions, my line is acquiring one for its light rail mainline!
Nice! It is really an interesting prototype - and that is coming from someone who cares much more about steam than diesel!
very good podcast, great insight into Rapido. Keep up the good work
Thank you, will do! I got burnt out, but I've got videos pumping out in the next week - I'm back!
Another great video. I really like what Shane and company have done with ScaleTrains. I love their models and where they are going! Thanks guys!
Thank you!
I first saw Drew on Sparky 107 107, and I've seen a few big interviews.... I'm glad I got an opportunity to catch you guys just being yourselves. I'm glad to see the younger generation excited about the hobby!
Thank you! I really appreciate it!
Your next interview should be with Tina Marie from The Majove Railroad Company. She has an awesome railroad layout and has done spectacular weathering jobs on her locomotives.
I will look into her. What do you think would be better - the live or recorded podcast?
Live is the best!!!
Another great video. I really appreciate how Trainworld/Trainland sponsors these videos and lets us get to see different manufacturers and their management. And Drew's energy is so great. These four made this an entertaining and informational video. Thanks Drew!
Thank you very much!
the 1057 currently resides at the south simcoe railway in tottenham, ON... currently sitting dormant as it needs significant repair.. currently estimated at around $500K-$1Mill depending on what they find if they started work on her... what would have been nice if the $$$ from the 1057 model went towards the south simcoe railway and helping them fund their railway..
it started with firebox damage around the mud ring.. then over time as they didn't have funds at the time it got worse... more things wore down and rusted out.. although the crew does have her running gear all lubed up and can me moved if needed..
Thanks for the information! It is truly sad how history like this goes through such rough times. But, it does have the advantage of being in well-enough shape to move, so only time will tell what will happen!
Great video. Learned quite a bit too.
Glad to hear it!
Nice tour.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
Great video! Now I want one.
Thanks!
Well done scene the loco looks to be on fire.
That's the intention! haha
Awesome channel, I heard Athearn Trains is trying to do an interview with you guys soon. I'm sure if you contact them they will.
Nice, thank you! An interview with them would be cool, may I ask where you heard about it?
