    There are so many people complaining early in the year that their system isn’t working. I’ve just changed up the journals and planners that I’m using as well.

      Yeah, January seems like the time when it's still easy to change this around. I realized that I created a setup for my past self from like 2 years ago. But today I need different solutions. 🤷‍♀️ What changes did you make?

      @ I was using a hobonichi weeks for the first time, but I don’t like the paper. So now I’m using a blank A6 notebook for daily lists and an A5 weekly planner. I found I needed more space than the weeks offered.

    I'm surprised at your opinion of the Lamy Safari. The plastic that is used for them is ABS - same plastic as is used for LEGO

    • @fannisophia
      @fannisophia 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      hat's really interesting, I didn't know this. Thank you for sharing! However, as a LEGO lover, I don't think there is a comparison here. In my opinion, the Lamy Safari lacks substance and weight, and the molding process could be better.

    A tip from an old FP user? A mistake many of us make. Buying too many pens at the lower price band at the beginning. I wish I had stopped sooner and saved up for a mid range pen sooner. Though your Sailor might be such. I don't know a lot about the Fude. But, you might not want to do that. Enjoy writing with them :)

    • @fannisophia
      @fannisophia 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This is an amazing tip! I truly believe in quality over quantity so now that I know what I prefer, I'm looking into to the Sailor, Leonardo and Opus 88 pens.

    • @t0dd000
      @t0dd000 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Maybe. I have yet to run into a pen over $30 or maybe $40 that represents a significantly better experience. Maybe ten years ago, this was the case, but today … there are so many excellent, yet relatively inexpensive, pens in the $10 to $30 range. Now, of you want specialty nibs like a flex nib or some calligraphy grind or some such … well, that's a specialty nib and you pay more for that. But for pens for, you know, writing, I don't see a reason to pay over $30. The only "beginner" pens I see on the market are the disposable fountain pens.

      @kevinu.k.7042 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@t0dd000 Yes, there are some superb under $50 pens now. We each have different wants and needs. I used to have an excellent Schaefer as my one pen. It lasted me many years and then I 'lost' it. I nipped out to the local stationers and bought a $5.00 Parker. It was 'OK' and did me for a couple of years. Eventually I wanted a better pen and bought a Lamy Al-Star. Disappointing, the nib needed tuning and some polishing, but then it wrote like a dream. At the minute I am writing with a Lamy Studio with a very well tuned nib and a Diplomat Excellence A2. Similar pens in many regards. The Diplomat, with what many say is one of the best steel nibs on the planet, is in a completely different league for writing experience. Some mid to cheap pens later I got a Pilot 823... The difference in writing experience was extraordinary. Though someone else might want to spend that money on other things. Bottom line is that a carefully chosen 'good' pen will give a much better writing experience. But, we each make our choices and those choices are correct for us. Whatever you do do *not* go to a pen shop and try a Lamy 2000! 😁 Best to you.

    • @t0dd000
      @t0dd000 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@kevinu.k.7042 I have written with an 823. It's a fine pen. Much finer than say the Asvine v126? Nope. The Lamy 2000 is simply not attractive to me. But that is a subjective thing. The Lamy Studio is beautiful, but that grip is … I'm not a fan. Anyway. Nice pens, but not worth the premium IMHO. It should be noted that I am probably going to break from my own position here and purchase a Franklin-Christoph just because (a) they are local to me, and (b) they make some really pretty pens. They are still just plastic pens like everything else, but they make some very pretty plastic pens. :)

      @ You can get the soft grip you like on the Lamy Studio, it is a metal pen and looks lovely. However some people don’t like the look of the clip. The Lamy 2000 is just fantastic, I would look at it in person though when spending more money. I hope that helps a little.
