@@garypotter1985 I thought so too. I'm glad I got up and asked or I don't think I'd have had the opportunity. Although had that happened, I'd have refused to do the exam without a warm up. I'm hoping that's the case!! I get my results in a few hours and have been stressing since!! I really want a distinction!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@ I’m also an adult learner, and the examiners tend to know that. I have had some truly awful exams, but my lowest ever was a merit. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. If you’re trying to get all 8 at distinction then that’s some bar you have set yourself. But saying that I have set myself the goal of distinction in my first diploma, but that’s mainly because it’s either distinction or just pass. Best of luck and keeping my fingers, toes and eyes crossed for you 😂

@@garypotter1985 yeah I've been told they mark the performance exams A LOT harsher than the practical grades. I ended up with a distinction so it turns out I was stressed over nothing!! I stand by the fact that the aural was harder than what is in the grade 4 practice book. They were longer. Wow. How different is the diploma to the practical grades? It's a big step up I imagine? 👊🏻🎹

@ oh yeah it’s a huge step up, there’s some pretty big step ups from 6-8. It’s a recital, so no scales or aural. I’m playing 7 pieces and aiming for around a 38 minute play time.

@@crystalmontalbano9798 yeah I added my own repeats to flesh it out a little bit more but it's heavily based off Pam Wedgewood's arrangement
