As a 33 yr old who’s first console was a PS1 (besides playing my parents NES) It’s nice to see some one who grew up with iPads, but still has such a wonderful appreciation for the games, history, and creators of this era.

12:12 dude, youve got a great video here but the rebrand to Nintendo 64 from Nintendo Ultra 64 / NU64 was pure BS. Everyone may have just called their Consoles Nintendos but when being forced to specify you had to say Original or Super or Ultra! Showing an obvious progression. The NU64 logo was sleek and cool and kids wanted New stuff like wrestlings New World Order and Nu Metal music. Plus Killer Instincts Uuuuultra Kombos were infamous which synergized to make the console more mature. Obviously Nintendo realised that they were losing all their famous 2nd Party studio partners and the system would rely on first party kids games, so they toned down the name, logo and marketing.

Copying PS1 games in the 90s was much more complicated than you stated here. PCs weren't nearly as popular and they were very expensive comparitively. Also it was much harder than ripping and writing.
