    AS for the lens cap , the push on cap just slides off even just turning the camer upside down. Its now available in Cann RF mount which I bought last week, it has a 39mm filter size but no filter or screw in lens hood will fit !?

    The Pentax M42 lenses had some of the best glass ever produced. I am a Leicaflex SL shooter with a Twin-Cam Leitz Wetzlar Summicron-R 50mm f2, what I found amazing is that the SMC Takumar 55mm f1.8 is the ONLY serious competitor which can rival and match most of the best Schneider-Kreuznach, Zeiss Oberkochen and even Leitz lenses, on the market of that era. I found the Pentax Spotmatic F and Spotmatic II a bit too loud.

En attendant qu'il arrive de Slovaquie pourriez vous m'indiquer le diamètre de l'objectif pour essayer de lui trouver un parre soleil, il paraît que le Zeiss Tessar 50mm f2.8 est sensible aux flares. Seems like these lenses coudl be hit or miss whether you get good one or a dud. The shots look great from yours, yet other reviwers results were very soft and with terrible contrast, esecially shooting toward light. It's a shame, because I love the idea of this lens, it could really tranform ones experiene of a larger camera

    Late I know, but I just found this interesting video. Comment (1) I have lusted after a Leica since 1955 when at 18 years I had my first (unpaid) professional shoot. The local photographer lent me his Leica plus his electrotonic, strobe flash (rare in those days). I never had the income since to afford one. Comment (2) I bought my first SLR in 1975 for a group trip of academics I was taking to China in 1976. I chose an OM-1 (Zuiko 50mm f.18 plus very fine Tamron 70-150mm f3.5). At the reunion after the trip the OM-1 was declared to have the best images against the very large contemporary Canons an Nikons. The camera with the closest images was the shirt pocket sized Rlollei 35mm. I still have that OM-1 and lenses and it is still the best camera feel in my hands as an 86 year old. Comment (3) Did you compare modern Zuiko glass with an adapter on the OM-1? One reason we all bought Olympus in the 1970s was the knowledge that it was the top medical lens maker then - and still is.

    That's just great. When I bought my MFT olympus it was a conscious decision to ditch large full frame body and a bunch of heavy lenses in favor of a small body with a standard zoom. And now I have an MFT body with a quickly growing collection of primes... with another one on the way.

    Hey everyone, I decided to order 17mm1.4 25mm2.0 35mm1.4 50mm2.0 50mm1.2 to test changing mounts ranging from M43, EOS M, Sony E, Fuji X. For the sake of my curiosity and your favor, I am able to change any mount between any of them. Still, I have to remove the inner ring from all the mounts (the black part inside mount). Particularly, the M43 mount on 50mm1.2, focus seems to pass infinity, so I have to put a very thin paper between mount and the lens, for the lens sitting a bit further to the sensor.

      I tried changing 50mm F1.2 EF-M to Fuji X mount (from either 25mm F2 or 50mm F2, they are both different) and I noticed the inner rings differed between all three! Are they easily removable and can they be put back when you switch back to original?

    • @UP209D
      @UP209D 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@sn0rbaard Yeah, easily removable, they are screwed into the outer ring, you just screw them out, and they are not fitting to other mounts, so better to leave them out.

      @@UP209D instead of putting a piece of paper between the mount and lens can't you just adjust the hard infinity stop on the focus ring? I've calibrated my focus ring and it was very easy to do, I think elsewhere on this channel he explains how to do it

    • @UP209D
      @UP209D 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@sn0rbaard You can put 2 fingers through the inner ring (any 2 fingers that fit), then push the two finger against the inner ring (to give friction and lockup the inner ring) while rotate the outer ring, you can use with rubber gloves, they might generate more friction. The inner ring comes out to the side of the lens. Yeah, thank for head up, I ll try to calibrate the focus ring, I haven't done that before actually.

    There are actually three (3) versions of the 1977-1982 FM… call them FMi FMii and FMiii. The third version is the one to get because unlike the first and second versions the focus screen can be changed relatively easily without removing the top plate. If you don’t shoot fast moving subjects looking to reduce motion blur or shoot in bright light with fast lenses f1.4 or better then the FMiii is the best value out of FM, FM2, and FM2N. Bonus is you can mount pre-AI lenses. Most eBay sellers don’t appear to understand the differences between the FM versions.

    My father bought an OM-2 new in the '70s and after I took up photography as a teen, he bought me an OM-2n with 55mm f/1.2 as a gift. Unfortunately my camera and lens was stolen during the San Fermin festival in Pamplona in 1987 (I was sleeping in the park!) but I still have his OM-2. Beautiful camera and I'm still loyal to Olympus/OM System. Thank you so much for the great video, and for refreshing my memories!

      Thanks for sharing your story! Sad that you lost your camera, it proves that theft and pick pockets were an issue already back then, not only today … but it’s nice that you still have got your father‘s OM-2!

    My first serious camera was an SP500, and I now have 3 Spotmatics 50 years later.The meters have all packed up, but that doesn't matter as they are still the best handling SLR ever built (I spent 45 years in the photo trade so have played with most). Yes, changing lenses is often a pain, but some of the Takumars rival anything ever made. My favourite - the 35/f3.5, still available at very low prices.

    Like your presentation - and your pictures. I have just acquired a Va II and paid GBP140, so you can still get these at a very good price (probably half that of the really no better Vb). The Xenar/ Tessar ;) lens is excellent. Why pay GBP1000+ for a Rolleiflex 2.8 which has probably had a hard professional life?

      Congrats on a nice deal on a great camera! I find that the Rolleiflex 2.8's are a bit front-heavy, so I'm not a huge fan of them anyway ... apart from the price tag!

    You do not seem to know that camera too well?

      Hehe, what makes you think about that? Because I didn't explain the mirror pre release / stop-down aperture feature properly? :)

    Thx for the review. Dumb question, using a full frame camera, can you crop in a 50mm to get a 75mm look? I like 50mm, but sometimes I seek the extra lens compression that 75mm gives to make the background appear bigger.

      It depends on the camera model of course, but most full-frame cameras that I know have a function somewhere where you can set it to "APS-C" crop. So the image on the monitor and in the electronic viewfinder will adjust to that, and the files of course are automatically cropped as well. Note that your resolution (in megapixels) is much smaller then - by a factor of 2.25.
