Hey, I'm Mike, and I like teaching people and making jokes. That's why I decided to make a TH-cam channel. Now I can teach people AND make jokes. This channel consists purely of psychology and neuroscience videos that anyone can enjoy. There will be simple videos to explain psych/neuro concepts to the layperson. There will be more in-depth videos showcasing stuff that even those familiar with the subject may find interesting. There will even be videos where I maybe possibly do both if I can figure that out.
If you're wondering, I'm a psychology major in college at the moment, but I'm about to graduate VERY soon with a B.A. in psychology, so that's about as much as I know about this stuff.

The Tunnel That Never Ends
Did you know that some people live with tunnel vision 24/7? This condition is called retinitis pigmentosa. Join me as we explore how it works and how we can learn to think like a neuroscientist from the research surrounding it.

Interview With My Mother | Retinitis Pigmentosa

I recently interviewed my mother, who has retinitis pigmentosa (RP), about her life with tunnel vision. This is her story. Sorry, the English voiceover is still not complete. Look out for a community post when I've finished it. Link to the RP video: th-cam.com/video/VtBPJ3kqDtA/w-d-xo.html

Weed is being accepted by more and more people every day, but is it for everyone? No. The answer's no. This was actually originally for a class assignment, but I figured why not make something bigger out of it? Found you on reddit! Love the vibes and facts, hope to see more!!
Good luck! Just got diagnosed at 35.
Excellent interview. Great Angel, right in front of you. I love her❤.
I have X-Linked RP and I knew I was different at a very early age. I am also very myopic with astigmatism. I'm not sure which flavour RP is in your family, but it's hard to imagine being your age and not knowing you might have it. The tell tale sign is night blindness, definitely a slow adaptation from light to dark, flashes of light in your eyes, or a slight restriction in visual field. I had all these symptoms by age 5-6. Weirdly, I have retained some useful central vision and with some minor visual aids, I can still do most things. There are some great wearable low vision glasses on the market at the moment, IrisVision, Esight and Eyedaptic are the more reputable brands around. Great video. P.s. there is a great Facebook group for people with, and who have relatives, with RP. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great video! As someone with mid-stage RP, this video was very interesting.
Excelente entrevista, son preguntas que ayudan al entrevistado y a las personas que adolecen de una discapacidad. Se queda uno contagiado de ese espíritu de lucha emanado de una fé muy firme. 👍👍👍

Great video. I sort of wish more was known how chronic depression/ abuse effects the teenage brain. I also wonder if those who have been abused as teenagers may be more likely to use weed to escape their problems. I personally think cannabis is less damaging to development than depression + abuse. I didn't start smoking till I was 19, but I did start having depression at the age of 7, and it's kinda sad that more research isn't really known because it is rather uncommon to have chronic treatment depression at that age.
Also, I think mental health issues have been on the rise in young people, and without the proper mental health support, I'd assume they'd be more likely to self medicate.
Thanks for the question and perspective! You're right that cannabis is in need of more research when it comes to how it affects other factors (e.g., mental health) and vice versa. One thing we do know about cannabis is that it is associated with increased depression and anxiety (note: correlation =/= causation), but that relationship may be a lot more complex than we thought (Butler et al., 2019). I was, however, able to find a study that found that adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are associated with increased cannabis use in adolescents (Hines et al., 2023). Hopefully this info helps!
