I'll be posting my latest market vlog this weekend and I realized I must find affordable market $150 will become my max so I def understand it being a waste to only break even
@@everydayskinco I will definitely lookout for it to watch and support your channel. I hope you are able to find some cheaper markets also 🤞🏾
@ speak it! Cuz this season has been rough
I love that you find affordable markets to participate in 🙌🏽
Hey, new subbie here! How long did it take you to start your business and is it expensive? Congratulations on your business! May Father God Bless You!!!😇
@@anqunettecooper9457 thank you for subscribing. It took me about a year of testing my product before i felt knowledgeable enough to launch my candle business. Starting a primarily candle business is somewhat expensive with all the testing required and additional expenses to get started for equipment, supplies, softwares, subscriptions, etc.
@TrescentsbyTarita Cool beans, Thank you for responding! God Bless!😇
i have started making my diffuser by using ethanol denatured alcohol as a base. bt people are complaining about fragrance smell so can u help with what i need to change
@@medikondurianusha4633 what were you using before trying the ethanol denatured alcohol? Are you getting better feedback once switch to this base? I use a premade base from the flaming candle that works well for me
You can always use small amount of Vaseline, white crafting glue or small amount of acrylic white paint to test ur colors instead of wasting your actual wax. Just a thought for u
@@FranHarris-v1x thanks for the information 🫶🏾
I'm in las vegas NV and when I inquired about doing a farmers market the cost was in the hundreds of dollars and you had to have an actual business license to vend. I am used to doing hot air balloon festivals where the events are 3-4 day events. They start early at the crack of dawn and go well into the night I think the latest was like 10pm. I sell handmade hair bows and am used to bringing in a couple thousand per event.
@@lizcarter6938 thanks for sharing 🙏
I vend at a farmers market twice a month, and the fee is $10. I typically make between $150 and $250. In the Fall and Winter sales pick up so the range grows to $350 to $500. I sale soaps, candles, diffusers etc. Hopefully it will pick up for you.
@@jessicaclyburn2680 thank you for this information. What area are you in?
Hi trescents by tarita this is my first time watching your video❤
@@jahairamartinez9771 thank you, i appreciate your support 🫶🏾
I don’t know if it helps or not but I watched someone else and they were doing 3 parts base to 1 part fragrance. It’s stronger so I guess it would depend on preference. He was doing 4oz to 1 oz and filling with a syringe and I think it made 15.
@@Lori410Ty thanks for the information 🫶🏾
the registration fee is not too bad if you are doing a few markets, if you only wanted to to one it would have been too high for that. your pumpking candles look great on the stall.
@@clairegillies I felt it was a reasonable cost, it was just unexpected. Thanks 🙏
Wait what? An extra $25 why would he not collect that before hand that’s strange but still very reasonable fee
$25 😭😩 I dream of these type of fees…

I saw this method of marbling a few months ago and was like yeah I'm using this method because its quicker! lol your candles look goodt!
@@Askyamammy83 thank you so much 🙏
the candles look great. do you always have to heat gun the tops, i've made a few candles for myself but have never tried that.
@@clairegillies yes, I do just slightly. The way it dries it dips around the wick.

Showing some small business owner love 🎉 I really wish I could find affordable markets like this in my area❤ these fees are drowning😭
@@everydayskinco believe it or not this was my most expensive market I’ve done. Most of the markets i’ve done have been $35-$45 and one was $80, this one was $101. How much are the markets where you live?
@@TrescentsbyTarita oh wow 😩 most are 2days and $500 for the 2days

Hey, new supporter 💕 I also have a small business and just started doing markets. Can you share the details of your tent? Would you recommend it?

What wax are you using
@@ivonvalle2683 i use a blend of GW-454 (coconut-soy) and white beeswax from hive and honey
Hi new to your channel, how is the ht, thanks for sharing, great video
@@ivonvalle2683 i have great HT with my wax blend and the fragrances i tested in this jar are falling leaves and toasted pumpkin spice (from candle science)
You put a lot of work into that setup. 😀
@@Chicago48 yes indeed. I look at it as a long-term investment. I can use things for years to come if taken care of. 👍🏾
Hey fellow candle maker!! Your set up is beautiful! Congratulations on a successful pop up! I love doing them and can't wait for the fall/busy season!
@@asenseofscents thanks 🙏
its a lot of hard work, glad you weren't in the red, and hope it was a fun day.
@@clairegillies it was and my kids got an opportunity to come out and help support. I can’t complain. 😄
Are 3 wicks recommended or just testing? Are these your go to wicks? Have you tried CDN wicks? I need to order wicks but no sure which ones.🐝🕯️🙄
I didn’t try CDN’s with my testing. I like HTP’s and use them in my normal vessels. Candle science has a 3 wick recommendation and a 2 wick recommendation but it depends on your wax. What type of wax do you use?
thank you for sharing your wick tests, its so interesting to see how much of a difference a slight size change makes.
@@clairegillies thanks, it’s no problem. With unique jars like this there’s not much information online about them. Glad i could provide this information. Hopefully it is helpful to someone 🙏
You did very well!!!
Also i didnt see you use 99% alcohol to wipe you jars out, use the heat gun to dry it. the wicks will stick better, wait 20 mins before pouring the wax
Word of advise. use a hot glue gun to place the wicks down. When you do the marble that way let it sit over night so the wax wont cause it to blend. Pour the wax at 140 to 150. I will be uploading videos to show people how to marble
@@BlackBloomCandleCo. thanks, yes, I typically pour at 140-150 when marbling. I poured a little hotter this go around. The wick tab stayed secured to the bottom, but the wick came out of the actual tab. Are you suggesting to hot glue the wick around the tab? I’ve never had an issue with my wicks lifting using the wick stickers to secure them?
@@TrescentsbyTarita Hey thats cool it still look great, We all learn from our mistakes
So sorry this happened to you ❤️no zelle, the payment should go through their website, I think that could be a red flag but I'm also new to the vendor market space
Congratulations
I hope you screenshot all parties and share in these vendor groups to warn others.
@@nolabae i absolutely did!
Love it sis! Good luck at Faire market!
@@cleckleysclassclass5895 thanks 🤞🏾
People suck, I always call the location to see if a event is actually taken place there.
That sucks!! Dispute those charges!!!
@@ardie24 i will absolutely try to
Hello, I hate that you got scammed. Did you try to dispute your chargers with Zelle? When I look for vendor markets, I actual go up to the place to see if an event will be held when the flyer said it would be and then I will reach out to the coordinator and ask questions before I pay my fee. I also google vendor markets to look for last year's event and do research for this year's event. Just be careful because it is a lot of scammers out there. Hopefully you can find some legit markets. Also look at different youtubers from your area and see what events they are signing up for. Hope this helps.
@@vmcexpressions4342 this definitely helps, thanks for the suggestions. 🙏
These look amazing ❤
I like them. There not to bad
They look so good solidified. I like your marbeling technique. The other technique takes forever. I'm going to try this method again.
@@SimpleeSylvia thank you 🙏 yes, i had to change my technique for practicality purposes. Like you said the original way i marbled took too long. This is much faster.
I like watching you start this. I want to learn to do this for gifts to my family and friends. If you learn how to color the oil, I would like to know. Great job! You are honest and likeable.
@@chrismedina4497 thank you , so much 🙏. I went to candle science and learned how to make them. The ingredient list is only 2, so they are pretty easy to make and fairly inexpensive. However, not every fragrance works well. So test them to see what works. Good lick 👍🏾
I just got those from CS in Orange and haven't made them yet. I love your marbled version! Something I have done to help stablize wicks is use wooden food skewers and tape two side by side by using blue painters tape on just the ends or you could use elastic bands if you don't have tape...puts enough pressure to keep them side by side and run the wicks up between them. They are long enough to lay them on top of most vessels. I discovered this solution when making dough bowl candle and needing something long enough to rest on the top and also hold wicks. Hope this makes sense!
@@lynnschreiner2452 thanks for this suggestion. I was really struggling g with stabilizing the wick
@@TrescentsbyTarita happy to share it! I cringed when you pulled the wick out of the tab. Hate when that happens to me!! I have those same wick clips you were using and they are tough to get the wick into and many times I pull the wick from the tab. So frustrating!
