Our Dog Goes Potty w The Lick Sleeve
"We were blessed to have Dr. Allman do the surgery to repair our dog, Rudy's, torn ligament in his back left leg. He sent us home with a Lick Sleeve and Rudy adjusted to it right away. It has enabled him to stay comfortable while his leg heals and he has not bothered his incision site at all! Rudy's had to wear the 'cone of shame' in the past, and it was an ordeal to keep him comfortable; also, his long snoot required a cone that was disproportionate to the rest of his body, making it more of a burden. We highly recommend the Lick Sleeve and are grateful to Dr. Allman for taking such good care of our boy." -Caroline C.

I saw a couple of these ads and it was like seeing this time through the clouds. My dog hates umbrellas any kind of awnings ever since she’s a puppy she’s nine years old. She’s gonna have TPL surgery tomorrow, but I got the licks sleeve about two weeks ago, I came across it on TH-cam. I’ve put it on her every day. She doesn’t even care she has it on. This is gonna be life-changing. The operation will be stressful enough, but without not worrying about a collar, it’s a godsend. Thank you for inventing it, God bless

Great video thank you for sharing. I can’t believe you had two knees done. I’m freaking out when my dogs gonna have one done in two weeks. I saw this product. I bought it last night because my dog the same way she’s a big Labradoodle and she hates the cone. She doesn’t even like umbrellas or any patio furniture umbrellas. She walks away from them looks up Adam like they’re evil so this will be a game changer. Did you leave yours on all the time? Is there a Certain amount of time you can do that or nobody’s answered my questions yet I keep trying different videos God bless you guys. Good luck with your ginger too. I’m sure she’ll be fine.

Can you guys answer my question if you can how long can you leave it on for? Should I have it taken off during the day when I’m home with her or can I leave it on 24/7.

Great video I just bought one of my dogs having TPO surgery in a couple weeks. I’m so happy not to put a cone on it. She will freak out. She hates umbrellas and anything over her head so this is a life game changer. I think can anybody tell me how much you can leave it on at night during the day all the time? Thank you in advance.

Our girl just had acl surgery a week ago. I got lick sleeve before operation so we didn’t need cone. It’s been amazing, she’s so much happier with no cone , no licking or chewing of wounds easy to use , I would definitely recommend and although expensive worth every penny.

I recently used this on my pittie who underwent ACL surgery on her back leg. For the most part the lick sleeve helped but slides off her butt and constantly needs to be hoisted up again. I did see another version of this whereas a light harness goes up around the front legs into a collar. This certainly helps keep the lick sleeve intact. This lick sleeve is better for front legs vs. back.

Most people go through a terrible time putting a cone on after spaying or neutering. Can you design a lick sleeve for that surgery?

Doesn't fit well on a dachshund at all. Pees all over it and it slides off when under a blanket.

This doesn’t make any sense. Maybe it’s just me. But if you’re putting this on a right leg and you’re wrapping it from left to right, it’s going to pull the clip back.

Sounds like this was elective surgery and I’m surprised that both knees were done at the same time… Was that to avoid two separate anesthesias?

I didn't find this useful until about a week after CCL surgery. Although it is probably relatively easy to put on post-anesthesia, I found that my dog's leg was too sore to put it on until the leg healed a bit.

Idiotic and unusable. My male dog wants to stop and mark every 10 or 20 yards when we take a walk. If i had known that meant having to unwrap the lick sleeve for every walk, i would have never wasted the $105 it cost (including shipping).

You don't mention the one glaring problem. For male dogs, you have to unfasten or remove it for them to pee, then put it back on. This is a HUGE issue. I would not have purchased the lick sleeve had i known that.

Hey there John - sorry you have an issue with that, our customer service is waiting on standby for your call - please don't hesitate to reach out. We have a money back guarantee and would be happy to help. We do know that some male breeds do not have an issue with this and can go to the bathroom just fine however since this isn't always the case we recommend partial removal or full removal for bathroom breaks! As always we appreciate the feedback and we love improving and iterating our product to be the best it can be!

Purchased two lick sleeves for my 100lb female German Shepard / Husky mix for post TPOL recovery now in 5th week. Purchased one to wear and other in the wash from getting wet on slushy/rain walkabouts. I was initially anxious given she always manages to remove any type of bandages in past unless wearing the cone of shame. Admittedly I failed to fit the strap properly on first fitting and she managed to slip it off when I was not looking. But subsequently once tightened properly/snugly she just fully accepted it without any complaints (she talks husky talk) and it has remained on without any issue for past 5 weeks Although no longer really required I plan to use it until stitches are fully dissolved. Just make sure to keep it snug if have a wily coyote like mine. Highly recommended.
