I've only crossed Netarts once. I'd say it's difficult in the fact the channel can change. It's also a long bar. I would suggest going with someone that knows the area. If you've got Facebook join the PNW Jet Ski group. Alot of the members go out of Netarts.

@@Jeremyfishingoregon ya I’d like to smoke, vacuum seal and freeze it. Would be nice to stock up. I view it similarly to hunting. Financially it hasn’t been in the cards unfortunately. Checking in on prices this year and I see they went up considerably too. 😔🤷‍♂️

Yeah, space, and I would need a bigger truck for a boat is my reasons. The only things that I notice is not being able to walk around, and being restricted by size. They close the bars or restricted them by boat size. The jet ski can handle alot rougher water than alot of boats can. I've fished tuna and salmon and bottom fish on a ski and love it.

@@Jeremyfishingoregon I have two, 2009 Yamaha VX Deluxes, and I put the JetSki Collars on one of them just to see how I like them. I like the purpose of the Collars, and they do add a lot of flotation capacity, but they affect the skis performance more than I thought they would. They sit low enough on the ski that the back 1/3 of the collar is skimming the waters surface. On my ski, this caused me to lose about 4 MPH on top-end and hurt my fuel economy by about 10 miles per tank full. Given I am 7 miles from my neighborhood boat ramp to the pass to the Gulf of Mexico, then I run 15 to 20 miles offshore to my fishing spots, that’s a big deal since I am not configured to carry extra fuel at this time. I was 15+ miles offshore last year when an unexpected windy front quickly blew up. I was in 3-4 footers in no time. I started heading back in and it was so rough, I could not get up on plane. I was on/off the throttle a plowing max water, burning max fuel. I made it back thru the pass a my fuel warning buzzer started talking to me when I was still 5 miles from the boat ramp. A friend was on my other ski, which does not have the Collars on it, and he still had 5-6 gallons more than I did. Normally the skis burn fuel to within a gallon of each other, depending on how we ride. The 2009 skis are not configured good to try and add fuel on the water. The fuel fill port is low on the ski, just above the rub rail. If I keep using the skis for offshore fishing, I will upgrade to newer skis that are more stable than these and not go with the Collars. I will also add a rack system like “ Jet Ski Brian” did on his…he has figured out a very nice setup;-). I think Brian is up around the Virginia/Maryland area? They are capped off, so no water gets in the hull. There is literally no other way to install them on a ski.

@@Jeremyfishingoregon all if the rod holders I see are mounted by sliding under the back seat screws then screwed back on, same in the side, and if any drilling, it’s just those 3 little holes, mounted on exterior. If that’s not the case with yours it’s a stupid design for a vessel. Again, not giving you a hard time it just doesn’t make sense. My other channel is a wave runner channel too and that’s a Bitchen rig

At the time it was price, availability, and the fishpro was having issues with the IDF system. If it wasn't for that I probably would of went with the fishpro.

I absolutely love the fish pro, I was even considering buying one myself, but I couldn’t bring myself to buying another seadoo after all the problems I’ve had with mine over the years, Well done mate!! That machine will give you years of reliability, You won’t have to replace wear rings and carbon seals with the yammy
