intel ARC will work, but afaik nvidia is better optimized specifically for editing, though you'll need to find some specialized benchmarks and tests, I haven't tested intel personally

Is I5 12400 , rtx 3060 12gb, 24gb ddr4 ram, Good Enough for Premiere pro and After Effects?
yes, it should be sufficient for small sized projects, for bigger projects you will need 32 - 64 GB RAM
That Thermalright Macho is awesome! They don’t seem to be for sale in the USA through Amazon anymore.
yeah, ebay is the best option currently
but there are better budget options, like Phantom Spirit or Peerless Assassin
@@AndresReviews I have been using a Thermalright Assassin King 120 for a while, it was very cheap I think $16.99(?) Performs as well as Noctua NH-U12S
i have this monitor and my issue is the g-sync fan never turns off ever. so my dumbass i ungplug it and when i plug back in and go to use and turn it on it wont turn on. the screen flickers like its trying to turn on a couple times but doesnt and the g-sync fan doesnt turn on. and i have to keep unplugging and plugging it back ain and fuckign around to eventually GET IT TO TURN ON ANd WORK AGAIN. dunno what to do. cause i cant be having the g-sync fan running 24/7 not only the nosie which is loud as fuck and the power usage. i aint got money tto buy and replace this monitor
It's an always on type, you can't switch it off otherwise it wont work. the only solution is to replace the fan with a quieter Noctua as described in the video. In your case it seems there is some failure, you may need to take it for repair to some certified place.
@AndresReviews weird cause everywhere I've read is says it's NOT an always on. But I got no clue. If I do replace the fan what size noctua do i need can u link me it? And ty for reply

@@AndresReviews ty yah opened mine ul and yah wa s very dusty. Ty for responses
in an update yah opened it up cleaned out dust and still wont turn on. when i plug back in the front LED on bottom right coern doesnt light up and screen flcikers on and off 3 times and NEne turns back on and the g-sync fan doesnt respond. happened multiple times before i usualyl just unplug and plug back in and comes back to lfie saometimes connect an external laptop with an hdmi cable to it and it casme back but not this time sort of random ty for help definetly hardware issue
just for everyones knowledge, you secure your fans and coolers when blowing out dust, blowing out your computer the fans are connected to a power supply, as they turn when the computer is on. Blowing out dust when the computer is off will power the fans and send a reverse charge by blowing on them which can fry your computer sometimes. Always tape or hold your fans as you blow the dust off them so the fans don't spin when the computer is off
awesome info, thanks, especially considering that fans may turn with extreme rpm when using compressed air

Hi Andres, which monitor do you recommend 1080p 24" 180hz ips or 2k 24" 100hz ips for pc i have rx 5700xt
Depends on your workflow, what is more important for you, gaming or productivity?
@AndresReviews gaming, sometimes online games and sometimes story games. and is a 24" size on a 2k monitor a feature or a drawback
@@Pixon-01 frankly for gaming I would rather choose a 27" 2k with 144 refersh rate. But if that is not an option 1080p 24" 180hz would work. For the reason that 24 is relatively small screen and you will not see pixels, you will also get much better fps on smaller screen. 180 hz is good for competitive. 2k is good for 27" screens, 4k is good for 32" screens and above.

Ok, so one of my 2x27 monitors, just turned very dark on the top left (1/4) of the panel. It happened during MSFS2024 hdr play, hdr in the msfs looks amazing. I looked at the temp it was only 61, so not overheating or anything. I hope this goes away, but it was dark even on start up on that quarter.
@@AnotherCasualViewer sounds like local dimming failure. never seen it personally
@@AndresReviews yep, hopefully there are som easy to replace led's in the back. Im really happy with these monitors otherwise. The kez acer pred z57 could replace them, but in my home country cheapest is 3000usd which is too much for me
@@AndresReviews another interesting behaviour, so i can still tell what is behind, it is just much darker. But as i move the cursor around it gets even darker around that cursor, i dont know how that makes sense?
@ ordered a used xv275kp as a replacement in my dual setup. Going to open it up once the replacement has arrived, and see if i can fix the broken x27 myself, hopefully its just an led strip i can re order and replace
@@AnotherCasualViewer I don't think it will be that easy, I haven't opened the screen itself, but for some reason I think it's an integrated system which isn't trivial to repair

you can use it for more, even 1-2 month is okay, just don't use any stress testing with it extensively

Been using 34 1440p for 7 years, switching to 32 4K for Video Editing and Screen Recording
wow, great content! i might try to replicate this but might fail lol
no, you don't need no ultrawide. but the experience with a 34" 1900R 21:9 has been amazing over the last 6month
great video, man! just subscribed :) thinking of getting a good deal now for black friday, I think after watching your video, on a 32 inch curved 21:9 monitor. I mostly work with recording and mixing/mastering so I think it should be a big upgrade on my workflow.
thx;) what monitor are you currently using?
I was stuck between the g8 32' and the asus pg34wcdm, but I think I'm going go go ultra wide
Just leaving my 2 cents here. I had an "AOC Gaming CU34G2X" which is 21:9, 3444 x 1440 at 144Hz, curved and has a VA Panel. I have been using it since last year for gaming and productivity. Since last week I bought the "MSI MAG 321UPX" which is 16:9, 3840 × 2160 (4K) at 240Hz, non-curved and is QD-OLED, but also glossy. Same use-case for now. For DaVinci Resolve (video editing) I really miss the wider monitor, as you mentioned. On the other side, games are mostly made for 16:9 monitors in mind and sometimes it was a real hassle having an indie game not cooperate with the ultra-wide monitor. Streaming same issue. You have a much wider screen, but this can cause issues during recording or streaming. So content recording is quite bad, but content editing is great. I think in a perfect world you'd split your gaming and productivity setup or maybe have a splitter that switches your main gaming monitor to the productivity one, which would require lots of space and of course money. In a realistic world, I think a glossy OLED might also not be the best choice, as it does like to reflect things, if you are bothered by that. Still, it does look absolutely gorgeous especially at 4K. It's quite surreal, especially at 240Hz. Hope this might help some who think about getting an ultra-wide, which seem to get cheaper.
Wow, that's an informative comment, fully agree with everything. One additional thing is very often even those games that have an ultrawide support, instead of changing the perspective and give more field of view, instead take the 16:9 filed of view and crop it to fit 21:9 resulting in lost visibility. Similar to like IMAX movies are cropped for traditional cinema screens. Glossy screens yes, those are distracting and often hard on your eyes, but they do provide better contrast, so it depends I guess. In the ideal world it's better to have both wide and ultrawide setups and additionally matte and glossy subvariants of each ))
One thing thats always funny is when a 27" 16:9 user complains that some games on a 34" 21:9 monitor get black bars on the sides Well uhhhhhhh it ends up being the exact same physical size as your 16:9 so it makes absolutely no difference
exactly ))
Yep and 16:9 players always complain in game that the field of view is much bigger for 21:9 et super ultrawide giving them an unfair advantage
@@sylvainh2o depends on the game, some indeed give a better fov, but some instead just crop the original 16:9 image into 21:9 removing vertical pixels, pertains mostly to older games, the newer ones more or less learned how to handle ultrawides
There are 2-3 newer games that dont support 21:9. Older games have more problems. Most of them can be fixed with Ini mods. I use 21:9 since 2013. 98% of all games work with 21:9. Just buy a 21:9 and enjoy the games. You are not going back again. PS: you have 2x 4:3 and all tabs work perfektly fine with that. Some games work with that old resolution too. You play on the left in windowmode and on the right you look youtube.
what screen size do you have? 34 inch?
2 x 4:3 = 8:3 = 24:9 So no, you do not have two full 4:3 displays with a 21:9 aspect ratio. That being said 21:9 is still great for both gaming and productivity.
I might order a 60 micron metal mesh filter and see if that does a good job, if I ever get to I will update with results.
My case came with a huge rectangular removable mesh filter in the front that easily pops out and into place. I just slid the entire filter inside a 15 denier leg. Took me 2 minutes.
I just bought a ryzen 5 5500 pc equipped with an rx 6750xt 12gb and a 512gb ADATA Legend nvme with 16 gigs of ram is this good?
16 gigs of ram is a little too low, is it two sticks by 8 gigs?
@@AndresReviews absolutely! my motherboard is an mATX model, so it only has two RAM slots. given my tight budget of around $900, this was the most affordable option I could find
what tasks do you plan to perform on this machine?@@AdamYazamii
@@AndresReviews Mostly for gaming, but I've recently been thinking about getting into video editing as well
@@AdamYazamii there are games that run better on 32, but most should be fine with 16. Basic cut&trim video editing will be also fine with 16, by the time you need 32 or 64 it may be years of basic editing and learning. But of course more memory is always better. You may buy two sticks by 32 and have in total 64 on you motherboard and it will cost you around $100. But for now you may stick to what you have, especially considering gaming is your primary use case.
You can buy these from EU retailers and it will come with a 220v motor and an EU plug. It's a great product, I just bought one as a gift for my friend.
I got 2x monitors (boh pred x27), same manufacture month / year, so they should be equal, for some reason, while doing nothing, having the same settings, one of these monitors have the fans ramped up.
may be dust buildup
@@AndresReviews maybe, i suspect it might be a gsync or somethin'. it only happens on displayport and it happens immediately, so i doubt it is heat buildup. maybe ill tear it down and take a look inside.
the g-sync is sitting at 75*-74*C on idle, 300nits brightness, no overdrive only 120hz, so perhaps i do need to clean it.
75 is way too high, it may also be a dried out thermal paste
@@AndresReviews I'll open it up during the weekend, busy rn. I'll re-paste it with some extra paste i have, hopefully that will fix it for now. I'll let you know how it goes, the situation is ubearable. I dont mind the loudness when gaming, but during normal desktop use its very noticable
I would buy a Stainless Steel Woven Wire Mesh which is mostly sold for garden purpose, spray it black and use it as the mesh. Some of them are sold even down to 1mm opening. It will keep most of the dust out, while not destroying your airflow.

"Negative pressure is better for cooling “ - can you please give more details on this? From my perspective with negative pressure the air inside is less dense, thus it is worse in transmitting the heat.
@@Serg01111 it has been tested by multiple reviewers, and the temps measured are better for the negative. The air is less dense, but it is properly directed. The positive pressure stops proper air circulation, instead of going into one direction the excess air starts floating around the case. But in any way the difference is only about 1-2 degrees so not really an issue.
@@AndresReviewsthank you so much for the thorough explanation!
The best thing I found was a nylon filter. Commonly used in electric kettles. Also used in paint filter buckets. They can be found on amazon
I feel like just dusting out my pc regularly would be much easier, and temps would be better
for most cases yes, the method shown is good for extremely dusty conditions to avoid the cleaning every week

I used a much older laptop for 4k video editing. You have to know how to optimize Adobe settings. And use proxy files, not use direct files. But generating the proxies can be time consuming.
why don't u guys use proxy for 4k, it helps to play even 8k footage pretty smoothly in old systems
it is possible, but it also means added rendering, storage, extra steps, more complexity with files management on ad hoc basis when new files are constantly being added. In general proxies are good, but i'd rather avoid them whenever possible.
@@AndresReviews i understand, if you are working with 25-50 footages of raw files then it will be very hectic to manage all those proxies and also having more space for those proxies which can take up to 500GBS have a good day
A bunch of us in Canada cannot get our EVOs replaced. Samsung sends us to Amazon and Amazon back to Samsung. Their warranty and the way they treat people is a disgrace.
Looks like it matters where you buy it from, maybe try to contact samsung.usa and send it to the US, they may accept, there shouldn't be any customs payments since this is a used product being sent for replacement/repairs.
Thanks can the DT8 seal the outlet and door gaps against flood waters?
amzn.to/3MRuYbw this would work better against water related situations, but it's toxic, so be careful
I have the large version of this and love it. KAI/Shun advertises this as a "Higo No-Kami" personal steak knife, because is styled after a traditional Japanese pocket knife. The Nagao Kanekoma company, which is the only company currently licensed to sell true higonokami knives, has also started making more modern versions with VG-10 and other steels, as well as different styles of handles. The owner of the company has also been releasing special editions that are engraved or have locking mechanisms (which the traditional style lacks) on Kickstarter under the brand alphakogyo.

Quite a cool knife! Reminds me a fair bit of the Böker Kaizen, especially with that enlarged pivot collar.
Intel has recently slashed their prices very significantly, so significantly that now it actually looks as a better option than AMD. Also Intel has Quick Sync module (which AMD doesn't) that helps with H264, H265 encoding/decoding. The problem with Intel is it requires more power, more powerful PSU and Motherboard which slightly push our budget upwards. Also if you buy 13 or 14 gen Intels you risk a lottery, at some point you may face chip degradation and failure of your unit. But gen 12 as far as I know does not have this degradation issue.
Outstanding video!!!! Thank you for covering this exact topic.
Intel better 12 gen but required aio using the aircooler quite challenge unless you have extra desk fan blowing into your pc
I wanted to switch platforms over to AMD but I was able to upgrade to a 12900k. From Noctua’s compatibility they claim my D15 air cooler is more than enough. All I had to get extra though I presume it’s also factoring the 4080 super haha, was a more powerful PSU
@@borremoonkey 12900k with quick sync is awesome, in general you have a very decent system
i have never seen someone cover this topic in details. thank you a lott you just saved me paid worth of consultation! thanks andrew
