The Ride: A Love Letter to Cycling in Vancouver
Riding in Vancouver is nothing short of world-class.
It has everything you could want as a cyclist, from straights and hills along the ocean to winding roads through lush forests and towering mountains-all within a few kilometres of a diverse, bustling city.
We teamed up with four talented cyclists to share the experience of riding Vancouver’s most iconic routes: Stanley Park Loop, Spanish Banks-UBC, Demonstration Forest and Horseshoe Bay-Whytecliff Park.
We’d like to give a huge thank you to our cyclists and team partners for helping us bring this project to life:

I've done all those rides except Demo Forrest, will do this weekend lol, they left out Deep Cove and Cypress mountain climb, Iona but soo many "epic" rides in Vancouver. We are lucky to live here as cyclist....at least in the Summer 👍👍

Everyone of them don't mention the risk you take every time you hop onto your bike as it can be your very last time. All those routes they talk about are litter with crazy drivers of Vancouver. The number of accidents and deaths every year to cyclists is ridiculous in Vancouver 😮💨
All these routes are dangerous. There is no space for a car and a cyclist. I go across the border for beautifully built cycling routes, with most of them totally separated from traffic. Check out Rails to Trails for examples of cycling routes where you don't have to compete with death.
You are missing the west coast king of climbing special... The Triple Crown. Or any of the over 800meters mountain climbs.

Try to join a cycling club.
The roads here are great but the gravel and trails here...top notch. Our system of trails is next level.

I am 65 years old and just cannot find gravel roads that I am able to cycle. Any tips would be much appreciated!
