I dive, free-dive, hike, run, kayak, and a wee bit of cycling. Often go to remote areas for multi-day trips and Garmin smashes it. Switched to the Fenix 8 and love it.

Why "miss" the apple watch features while running? If apple marketed a 1inch iphone for running we would buy it and thats what we have haha. I use my fenix 24/7 and take the apple watch running in addition to my fenix as a 1 inch iphone (for apple music - emergency cellphone etc)

about the sleep with garmin. you can tell the watch when you usually sleep =) so acutally you tell it 0:00-8 am. then the watch will record the wakeup time and tell you you were awake in the middle of the night!

In past I have a lot Garmin then AW and now I buy Garmin Fenix 7 pro SS and sell it . I find now I dont need these all Garmin features to train hard and good . I need only basic HR measurements and other basic staff . I don’t need some watch tell me what is my recovery time or how I to train or my body battery . I find only HRV metrics , HR and some basic sleep time to be just enough and good GPS when I run or skiing and to know pace and distance . In my cardio and gym only reliable HR is just enough. Biggest problem of AW is battery life …..

It has been a month, how is it holding up? I am considering getting one but unsure if I want to go with leather

I bought this and within 90 minutes of use the main compartment leather attachment to the zipper came loose. There is an inherent defect in the zip - which leaves a gap, that gets exaggerated easily. Bellroy suggested I fix it with pliers! Poor quality. Shame for what should be a great product.

Does the Nest Protect also have a heat sensor/alarm?

New band ... I think some company (if not Apple) will offer an adapter so the old bands can still be used with the new band connection... that could be EVERY band company.

Yea I bought nest too. POS sensor failure after 7 years and now the $200+ unit is fucking worthless. You worthless engineers and your planned obsolescence is of no use to this society.

Congrats man ! Just bought Tudor Pro as well and have my Diet Pepsi Rudor as well 😊! Amazing watches hope Tudor doesn’t release “slimmer” versions of these awesome models! Got the Heritage love it and the Pelagos LHD I’m not sure if I’ll jump on the FXD ones as I love that blue dial only those lotes of minute dots on the bezel are bit too much plus the inner dial is not same as the “older” version as my Pelagos it just doesn’t give me the kind of 3D effect or maybe it’s just me being used to my Pelagos Black dial with that cool roulette date wheel! Loved this video. I have my Tudor GMT and the chronograph . The Chronograph has been spending lots of wrist time. the gmt is being left behind for the same reasons of wanting to be under the radar. I am playing with the idea flipping the GMT and get the Pro and keep the Chrono as well. What you think ?

I’ve been looking at this watch for a while now, visited loads of ADs and none of them had it in stock for me to try on🥴Anyway, to cut a long story short, I came across one for sale a few months ago for £2500 on Chrono 24…full set 2022 unworn….made a cheeky offer for £2300…and the seller accepted my offer🤗…turned up 4 days later….and I haven’t stopped wearing it since…it’s a perfect tool/daily wear, yes it is thick, but honestly, when it’s on the wrist, you don’t notice it (it’s thinner than my Omega planet ocean 42) I used to rotate my watches every week, I have a new 2021 41mm date sub, a Tudor North flag, a Tudor Big block silver dial, a 42 Planet ocean and I was lucky enough to have been gifted a 1979 6263…but I have to say, I’m totally in love with with this BBPro, ticks every box 😊

13 mini for life!

I didn’t take as big a leap as you did…I traded my 13 Pro in for the 13 mini. The big heavy 13 pro made my hands and wrists sore after a while and the weight made my shorts feel like they were gonna fall down when I was walking. The mini is a total breath of fresh air and I can’t understand why the sales numbers caused apple to cancel the mini..I hope apple releases something smaller again in the future.

I agree with most of what you say. I don’t want it to be smaller though. From day one I wished Apple Watch was more manly/more rugged/less feminine. I’m an apple fanatic so have everything apple, so buying a garmin just didn’t appeal to me. So if anything I wish they made it even more beefy 🙂. I do also agree that everything that garmin/fitbit has should be native on the Apple Watch as well. But just like with sleep tracking, it’s been collecting the data for years but just now released the native app. Everything you wished for can be got with an app. Like the readiness. Athlytic has that, it’s the first thing I check in the morning. I think Apple just tries to get it perfect out of the gate. Even with sleep tracking native now, I still prefer auto sleep’s display of the sleep stages, makes it much more readable, we read time on a 12hour clock, not a graph, so wish they changed that. But it’s also the first in the line of ultra, so I’m assuming it will get a lot better in the coming years

hows the battery holding up brother

You only talked about a week batterylife on the garmin. The worst was 11 days with 6hrs biking and 5 runs. If I only do 5runs a 30min to 1 hour I can easy do 12-13 days with mulitband GPS and charge it when it has 12to15% so I could also do longer. Those are my experiences

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I too, used to own and wear a Garmin (Fenix 6s Pro) and did so day in, day out for roughly two years. I bought my Ultra a few weeks ago and it has only left my wrist to be charged. For a daily-wear smart watch, the Ultra wins hands down. I have an iPhone, iPod and a Mac computer so live in the Apple ecosystem. The Ultra, therefore, fits in seamlessly and just works. I get a solid 3 days of use (including 2-4hr or tracked workout during that time) and this new battery life is the biggest winner for me. Aside from that, general day-to-day functionality of the Ultra just beats the Fenix in every way. I will still keep my Fenix though. I lead Duke of Edinburgh expeditions in my spare time and, for the longer ones of up to 5 days and no guarantee of easy charging, I will take the Fenix. As a backup. Keep up the good work, and keep well :-)

Bought my 13 mini after Apple's launch of the 13 series. Ngl was the best purchased Ive ever had. My BH deteriorated to 83% over the course of my 2 years of use. And at that BH, my SOT was lasting me only 3-4 hours per day with wifi and 4G. Ive thought of changing the pro, but had my battery replaced. Trust me, my SOT now lasts me 7-8 hours with wifi and 4G; very impressive! Not gonna regret my decision on staying with the 13 mini for many years to come by !

Only one thing i dont like about it. Battery is too small.

I am getting that gorgeous red mini

I’ve switched to iPhone in search for compact smartphones. The iPhone 12 mini is my first iPhone and the a year later, I’ve purchased iPhone 13 mini. The battery performance isn’t that bad and overall, the mini iPhones are at par with their bigger siblings especially when it comes to features. The iPhone mini are more comfortable to use because of their small size and they fit perfectly into the pocket making it unnecessary to have an extra pouch. Because they are compact, they are lightweight as well. I will most likely stick with my iPhone 13 mini for many years to come and I won’t upgrade to newer iPhones unless there would be a new mini or the next iPhone SE would remain compact like the current SE 3rd gen.
