That time I auditioned with a local band and failed

Organizing my files, I found this video from the time I tried out for a local band. They really did a good job with the covers they were working on and seemed like great guys. Maybe I didn't have the look, or maybe it was my voice, my schtick, too nerdy forgetting the lyrics? they totally didn't call me back lol. I am not ashamed to be embarrassed let me know where I screwed up. Credit for the ...

Like your voice, nice original music, interesting lyrics.
@@rosenelzor1210 thank you! It’s about my grandfather. He used to sing the chorus and we just thought it was the dementia. one day my sister asked what he was singing and he revealed it was a love song from Korea but he had forgotten the words. There were times he tried to escape saying he wanted to go across the sea. The poor man had nearly forgotten everyone and everything in his life except someone he fell in love with in Korea.
This song totally reminds me of the 1960's. Identity. Alienation. Looking for a meaning amidst the existential despair. Far-out!
:) It's definitely a wild ride we are born into. Thanks for giving it a listen
I know this vid is now 2 years old. But I would like to know what nut and where did you buy it. Also how much work was needed?
@@stehairy a.co/d/4h65qZc I am no luthier and I had no trouble getting things spot on.
Is that an adapter? That u used for the line in out. Basically like the adapters they make to plug-in a guitar sized jack into a headphone sized jack?
Ya just look up 3.5mm to rca stereo on amazon
我可以提供好的吉他
Sounds good to me! 🤘
When they going to make a 4 push pull pot one with jimmy page wiring? I’d buy em all day long
They need to make as many different styles as the can. These things are the bomb
Why bother with this ? Is the guitar going to sound better?
so far it's been pretty funny. people pick this up and play it thinking it's a Gibson and comment on how good it plays then they notice the headstock and try to walk back their positive comment.
0:56 - somebody died? )
My tuner definitely let me down
Why do people buy these garbage copies?
You can buy 15 for the price of a comperable Gibson.
There are better guitars for less with QC, warranty and support. And working components, correctly placed bridge etc... the only reason to spend more on a Chibson is because you care what the headstock says... if you just want a good Les Paul the options are endless. However they don't say Gibson on the headstock.
Mine no longer says Gibson on the headstock 😁 it now says Chibson. And everyone that plays it wants one. What started as a joke became something really amazing.
@@bryanmanx Fair enough but you never know what you get. Sometimes it simply can't be intonated because the bridge isn't in the right place etc... electronics non functional, sub par craftsmanship... in the age of extremely good sub 400€ guitars I don't see the point. I got a Harley Benton SC550+ for 370€. Perfect all stock. Locking tuners, EMG pickups, very high quality fretwork, beautifully made. And I can send it back anytime, I can get a refund or a discount if somethings off and I prefer it to some real Gibbons, like a Les Paul Studio, which is quite bland in comparison, no binding nothing. 10 years ago sure but now you can get amazing guitars from actual legal manufacturers for less than a Chibson + basic upgrades. But if you sanded off the logo fair enough. I'd rather mine just says Epiphone or Harley Benton or Cort or Ibanez... the age of cheap guitars has begun. Don't believe me? Buy a TE62DB. 158€. Lake Placid Blue is my recommendation. Neck perfect, pickups wonderful, pots fine, build great, action super low, fretwork near flawless, just gave it a polish and rounded the neck a little for a vintage feel. It's superior to any Squier and I would use it even if I had a Fender because I'm not afraid to scratch it or damage it. Best Telecaster I played since a made in US Fender, which was different nor necessarily better...
@@221b-l3t yea I've got a really good 86 strat that feels like it got blessed. Recently picked up a $160 schecter that is surprisingly good. I've also got an f hole Kay that I've had since new for nearly 30 years that is fantastic. I assumed this chibson was gonna be a junker when I ordered it but I was just curious more than anything. I do see a Harley benton in my future. I've heard many great things. The chibson will always remain as a funny quirk of a guitar that leaves people shaking their heads. If it ever warps or does some weird Chinese stuff I can guarantee my $600 in upgrades will go right over to the Harley benton. BTW if anyone ever tells you that pickups are not important they have never played with those duncan Saturday night specials. They had a bit of a price tag but damnit man.
@@bryanmanx Duncans are okay but if you want true perfect tone, go for Toneriders. Alnico 2 Classic are replacing all my Duncan and Gibson pickups. I actually would wager my SC550+ would beat the Chibson. Because it has annoyed people. If you told me it cost 1500€ I would think wow, the fretwork is nicer than my Gibson and the tuning stability sure is better with the 14° headstock and reduced side angle behind the nut. Plus they have a cutout on the neck so high fret access is good for a Les Paul. You can always return Thomann stuff so I highly recommend giving either the SC550+ or the TE62DB a try. I have very expensive guitars but really my Harley Telecaster and Tonerider Epiphone are my best sounding guitars. Depends where you live, America can be expensive with shipping from Germany but Europe it's hell of a deal. Not quite sure how they do it. People who never heard of HB just assume it's some boutique Telecaster that cost two grand or more. But DEFINETLY try Toneriders. Half the price of Duncans and they sound better than plenty of original 1958 PAFs. Alnico 2 Classic that is, I can't vouch for the rest. My JB/59 loaded Les Paul is retired. Sound not satisfactory. I'll sell them both for two sets of Toneriders one for the Les Paul and one for the Gibson. It has nice pickups, Burstbuckers. Great stuff. But it doesn't come close to the Epiphone in sound now. I also put in coil split CTS pots and an orange drop capacitor. So lovely... give it a try if you're into value. I'm annoyed now my expensive guitars don't have locking tuners because the ones in the Benton are fantastic but it feels wrong putting them in an LTD or Gibson... regardless I will proceed. Tuning stability goes above what the tuners cost or what brand they are, especially on a Gibson style guitar that's not exactly super stable. I swear my Gibson is the worst. The Epiphones have the reduced headstock angle and that helps a bunch. Shame Gibson chooses tradition over function... but it's what the people want.
Thanks for the demo! I’ll have to try it now! I want to hear more development on your riff. For some reason it’s stuck in my head now! 😂 👍
Can you run pedals into the spark and record over a clean tone as a pedal platform?
I'm sure you could. Probably better to just get the spark riff for that use case
Lead playing shows an Ace Frehley influence.
I can see that.
Love it, a good use for junk mail !! Nice on changing the name out, so others don't get taken in the secondary market ! Cheers!!

I can tell you what did it. See the bass player has an exact replica jazz bass backup? Did you bring a backup microphone?
You may be onto something
I noticed the bass was on too loud, drowning out your voice. I've also noticed this happened to me too when singing with a band, as well as others that it happens to. Because you sound Fng great! Don't give up like I did. It's a lit of work, disappointment, but I'm wondering why your not famous. That bands not good enough for you.
you sound good to me,man. I give you kudos for putting it up for all to see and hear.
Thanks brother. Here I was expecting alot of negativity and laughter. Appreciate ya
They probably figured everyone would be trying to solve the puzzle instead of listening to the music since you're obviously Pat Sajak's son and look too much like him.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
The alternative thing you could have done was get smaller letters saying 'Not A' to put just above the Gibson logo. 'Not A Gibson'. To be honest I don't know why the manufacturers don't do that.
Ha ha! If I get another I'm totally doing that
That was dope
Thanks brother!
You were just fine singing and performing and your look is alright. Being the frontman is the hardest job in the band.
Thought it was pretty good

For a couple people sitting around having fun ya it can be. Not going to fill a room or anything

@@bryanmanx I am not sure what to call it perhaps metal or light metal maybe If there is such a term.
@@valueofnothing2487 ah out of tune basic rock guitar
Just kidding..but when you hit 20 strums on distortion and then go to clean and say "I think I"m out of tune now.." on a Les Paul....brought a chuckle to me heart :) Ever thought about the string butler? Works a treat for Les Pauls to keep in tune. Good video as I'm looking into tiny amps for room sound. Thanks for the video and Best Regards and Best Wishes!
He he ill have to look that up. I seem to always be out of tune lol
I have a Chibson SG and I LOVE IT!!!!! did some minor action tweeking, and changed the pickups. That's all !!!
That thing is a peice of junk.
I guess you are painfully trying to justify a Gibson purchase you made?
So you can plug this into any powered speaker basically? Can you link to that cable you bought? If the speaker has left and right can you run it into just mono?
amzn.to/3ti6Bh6 this is the cable I used
Keep on rocking, and having fun no matter what you choose to play!! 👍

Would you say this is a good 'beginner amp' for someone starting to learn? (Bass guitar, in my particular case)
It's ultra portable. Not too loud so you won't offend anyone when you play running with the devil for the 82nd time. Id say it's a great starter practice amp

I just got a silverburst chibby. Intonation and hardware are dreadful. The rest is like a real gibson. So I need to invest around 500 in it to make it great
Excellent. The hardware and intonation are the easy part. Can't wait to hear how you made it awesome!
Hey Brian, Who is the seller? would like to order one and replace all parts that you did. Nice sound and looks
the link to that particular guitar is no longer valid but here is the seller www.dhgate.com/store/20687482#st-navigation-storehome
I own a 97 studio and did about the same changes. Bought it used with 496/500 pups and to keep up I changed the pots and wiring, switch and jack. For more reliable I changed the bridge and tailpiece, the tuners and nut. Now it rocks and supposedly I took away from the value but I would never believe that.
All that matters is how well they play. They are not Pokémon cards 😁😁
Also how much you want to play with it. So every individual can get better at guitar. Both my guitars are art as much as tools because I love looking at them.
@@sparkyguitar0058Ya its super important to feel inspired when you look at them.
