Ah, modern sci-fi art design in a nutshell. Take a perfectly clean and solid image, and then cram a whole load of pointless extra detail onto it for no good reason. Detail for detail's sake.

It incorporates futuristic and imaginative features that defy current scientific understanding, allowing creators to explore concepts beyond real-world constraints (as you put it details with no reason). so once again what are you talking about?

@@stoidatdaeva3197 The best practises of art design are universal. Working within the Sci-Fi genre does not give you license to ignore them. Contrast, framing, flow, positive and negative space - these principles hold true no matter what, because they are based on how the human eye and brain processes visual information. Said eye and brain processes all imagery in the same way, Sci-Fi or otherwise. If you ignore those principles, your designs will suffer regardless of the genre you're working in. This helmet "re-design" is just an indistinct mass of positive space. It may feel more visually stimulating, but it's stimulation for no other purpose than the stimulation itself. It's the equivalent of eating spoonfuls of pure granulated sugar. It's sweet and tasty, but devoid of substance. The standard Tau infantry helmet is already a perfect visual design. It's actually one of my favourites in all of Sci-Fi. It also "defies current scientific understanding", without using that as an excuse for sloppy design work.

Looks like the war effort finally took a toll on the T'au's ability to produce shiny and pretty pieces of armor. This Fire Warrior is looking down right Talibani. Now they just need to trade in their fancy plasma guns for SVD Dragunovs, and their battlesuits for modified Toyota pickups with AA autocannon turrets bolted onto the back of the truck.

in the grim dark theam 100% grate but in a tau them its better with a human rather then a tau as for the tau look it looks salvaged rather then made by the earth cast still a grate modal thou.

Typical ugly Artstation redesign, losing all the soul of the original. Looks like shit, it just has a lot of details to it and very skillful craft. I hate this kind of stuff.

Great model, not so great design. Guys at GW make sure their designs don't look too complex. This helps with recognition of the image.
They’re lazy, detail and recognizability do not fight each other in any way at all.
this is pretty cool and it looks awesome, but I dont know if it really reflects T'au. I feel like the armor should be more paneled instead of sharp, jagged and bumpy. A lot of T'au stuff is based off of and inspired by asian cultures, things like samurai armor and chinesse armor. Maybe you could incorporate that somehow?
