Each interpretation, a celestial body, orbits its own truth. Evgeny Svetlanov also illuminates distinct constellations. Thus, you, my dear interlocutor, permit me to tread cautiously. To compare is to juxtapose worlds, to weigh the ephemeral against the eternal. Mravinsky’s baton, a comet’s tail, blazes across the firmament. But this other interpretation, a nebula of its own, dances with its own cosmic dust. May the symphony continue, and may our musings harmonize with the celestial spheres.

Vechernitsa (Vechornitsa) is a seasonal form of leisure of young people (especially in village) in autumn and winter, most typical for eastern and southern Slavs.

Very slow tempo compared to most versions. Guess it's his interpretation of it. Sounds good, however.

Absolutelly stunning sonata! It's quite unexpectedlly conservative in the harmony and structure, it sounds a little like a more simple Medtner!

Very nice, I think there is a kind of 'French' element in Mijaskovsky's music so to speak, also noticeable in some of the songs, a bit reminiscent of Fauré and such, it is hard to explain. Anyway, thank you for uploading.

It seems like this is Myaskovsky's only orchestral piece to include a piano, unless there is another I'm unaware of. Thank you for making the score available!

a minor fugue is a banger. pretty interesting that mushel studied with myaskovsky. rather surprising that a pupil of the highly romantic and virtuosic myaskovsky would be so neo classical, simple and shostakovitschian (edit: if you told me that these were written by a pupil of shotakovitsch, like tishchenko I would definitely believe you). I love his use of a mixolydian sound, very convincing harmonies! its also great hearing mushel playing these himself. I feel his playing technically very wonky and unpolished, but so very much expressive, musical and insightful.

Bach is one of the greatest examples of Man cooperation with divine Providence!

この頃からですかね、オーボエの茂木大輔さんが加わったのは。 当時としては珍しい女性オーボエ奏者小島葉子さん、茂木さん、コンマスの堀正文さんと錚々たるメンバーですね。 小島さんは亡くなられましたが、堀さん、茂木さんは指揮者やソロ活動をしながら、後進の指導をされています。

An interesting composer, with a deliberate “primitive” melody and virtuoso mastery of polyphonic writing. Wonderful music. But the execution is boring. Too little agogic. And the cellist did not find the soulful sound required here. He saws without phrasing or breathing, like a saw. Well, accordingly, the accompaniment is inanimate. I advise you to listen to Rostropovich performed on YT.

当時は珍しい女性オーボエ奏者の小島葉子さんがおられましたね。 今のN響の首席オーボエ奏者は吉村結実さん、コントラバスに矢内陽子さんという女性奏者が増えましたね。 コンサートマスターの堀正文さん、徳永二男さんも今は後進の指導に当たられて、マロ（篠崎史紀）さんも特別コンサートマスターとなり、N響も新しい時代を迎えます。

I think Myaskovsky is a great composer, and this sonata is a beautiful work. Maybe his reputation suffered because of his ambiguous position within Soviet music, on the one hand writing works about Khokhozes, as if he was a lackey, and on the other being castigated by the authorities for formalism. But he is a great discovery and very underrated.

extraordinary masterpiece

Can cellists please please play this sonata more? So beautifully written, the two instruments are very well balanced, there's no moment when cello goes silent and piano plays solo and yet it's regarded as cello sonata. So soulful and beautiful. ❤
