I can give you a tip guy told me. Once you make a heap of ball stinkers put them into a small bucket and roll them around. That will flatten out any sharp bits on the sinker because as you know lead is a soft metal. But yes as long as you do it safe you will save yourselves a heap making your own weights

What are using as bait?

motor oil with glitter. I always push the lures too, so satisfying tricking the fish rather than baiting them in with scent. If I needed to eat I would use bait for sure though haha
