"I am here. I have a body. My body-is my body taken by all the conversation we have? My body is here. My mind is here. And my feeling is here. Are there other energies or not? I must know. One must know. One is made out of how many energies? I see that when these energies are related, more together, I am open to a new vision, to a new intelligence which I was not open to before, and which gives me a feeling of-freedom, which I never knew before. The relation between these energies gives me a freedom. It is another energy which usually in my life I cannot have if I don't feel that. This relation is very necessary. Because this relation makes appear a new energy which human beings can have-which they are made of-to have this energy. That is what Mr. Gurdjieff wished to show his pupils."

if she wrote down absent interjection I am sure it contains a great deal. Whether you or anyone else likes it jeanne was told in front of a room jammed with others that she was the "diable who would destroy my life's work" GI gurdjieff '47. I asked dushka howarth, G's daughter, in the early oughts if this was accurate and she replied it was as she was present. She refused to answer whether Jeanne ever spoke of this and how on the basis of this warning she took over the operation of the work. My memories of her interactions with Clive in the late70s right before his death are a matter of bitterness to me.

Jeanne Salzmann was her married name from her husband's family name: Alexander Salzmann (no particle) as he did not descent from nobility. Her maiden name was Jeanne Matignon. What did it mean to her adding the particle "de"?

I know that the husband's family name was in origin 'von Salzmann', later, as with all aristocrats of german origin, when French had become court language in Tsarist Russia, changed into 'de Salzmann'.

How to remain attentive and awake*in-front-of* that question? I don't want to limit anything or know-*All*-about- that, so that -is-the-end-of-that-once-and-for-all of that mystery and diamond question what is attention? I certainly don't want to appear to know-*All*-about-that or , so that-is-the-end-of*that*, what it means to work because I don't. For the writer the question is "Can I*Remain"? Not to kill that question or turn it into the corpse of a question or an answer or -I-know-*All*-about that. *Can* something remain awake and in attentive*in-front-of* that question*without* * turning that question into the rotting corpse of a question(which*It* would do given half a chance), answer or that-is-the-end-of-that once-and-for-all that some It can bank; the life is in the searching not the finding.. " What is attention? *There** open the gates of Heaven. Attention is...., and *There* the gates of Hell.(you know that Chan story) *Can*(is it possible) I speak of*My* attention?.. Can*(is it possible) I *Remain? A man can search all his life for that diamond question. There is some much in that little Chan story " searching for the Ox which the writer remembers as searching for the bull I'm glad to say I-*don't_know*- *All*- about attention. I(instinctively)tried to keep as far away- and hide from, Madame(because she scared the living shit out of me), but she was was always banging on about *Remaining* (but then she was always banging on about *some*_thing something), and only now sixty plus years(and so many deaths) later at what is the very end of my life does that have any meaning for me. All the time I am being fed question after question, but then this is the way of questioning is it not? "Ekh, Brother! Here on the Earth if you speak the truth you’re a great fool, whereas if you wriggle with your soul you are only a “scoundrel,” though also a big one. So it is best of all to do nothing, but just recline on your divan and learn to sing like the sparrow that had not yet turned into an American canary." pip pip
