    Came across a Mac Pro - BTO.CTO - Mac Pro2,1 A1186 - 2138 with two 3GHz Quad Core Xeon X5365 (Clovertown) processors. It has 5 gigs of ram and 4 hard drives, a 250 and three 500s. Very little modern software Mac software will run on this machine without major and expensive mods. Been trying to install several different versions of Linux onto it without success. Most installers are not recognized and the ones that are recognized, start but all stop at some point without giving any error codes. Etcher will not run on Snow Leopard and hard crashes on El Capitan - system just turns off about 3.4 of the way thru an etch. I got it for the price of going to get it, a drive of about 200 miles. Studied and followed many methods for installing Linux on Macs but none work so far on this machine. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Where do you find the black glue sticks??? Thanks

  • @rickcassani2810
    @rickcassani2810 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Black glue sticks are a must. Instead of a glue gun I carry a small butane torch (about the size of a lighter). I heat the glue stick and apply it to the emitter much like chapstick.

      That is a Knapheid partition. If I remember correctly, it was very costly; around $1000 installed. The factory option was less, but not available at the time.

    Hi, I’m also in the industry and we have found over the years PVC clamps for electrical conduit work the best and are cheap compared to other options. No wire snags or cuts with this method given you install them according to angles and tension.

      How does one get into an industry like this? I'm brand new into the residential alarm system world and learning about low voltage. it didnt take to long for me to stock up on some new fancy tools, I've slowed down now but there's still plenty I wanna get for myself. now I'd like to know where the "big bucks" are? for my part, I make an okay living, but I dont have that many hours, 30-35 hours weekly, so I guess i'd love something where I can work 40-50 hours? Thanks!

Looking at the Roque I think this might be the one!

    Amazing you got to put Linux mint on it! I found my macpro1,1... local church threw it away near a dumpster so I snatched it. Spent about $85 on new ram and new 3ghz processors and flashed it to 2,1. It’s a fun machine, running lion and El Capitan.

    The M12 2402-22 is your answer to a compact drill/driver with a hex chuck. The only time I brought out the impact or hammer drill was for masonry, large hole drilling, driving/removing lags or stubborn screws. I found the hex drill/driver to be perfect for low/med torque screwing and drilling... still my go-to 90% of the time, although I'm no longer in the tech install business.

    @13:33 is when he opens the cargo door. A word to the wise: people's attention spans are short. A video like this should be chopped up into smaller videos by content 15 mins or less. A video on your bag. A video on van cargo organization. A video on cab organization, etc. 20 seconds max about why you're making the vid.

      @@digitaldna2938 It wasn't a bad video, though! There was lots of good content about your experience and how you set things up. It's just most people won't stick around for a video that long. You'll get more views making it shorter.

    Nice setup. I have a 2017 Promaster 159" ordered/purchased new. Also do A/V too. I Bought cabinets from American Van. I have permanent space for boxes of Cat6, RG6, Speaker wire etc, 8'/6' ladders inside. Love being able to lay a rack down or carry a huge amount of boxes of wire for a large prewire. Also have dedicated sections for Crestron devices, Sonos, and lots of other devices we use all the time. Also have spots for my Brady label maker, fasteners, Milwaukee power tools, wall plates and inserts/bullnoses, patch cables, HDMI cables and other stuff. Have had a few problems with the van though unfortunately. At 71k miles, had to replace cylinder head#2, radiator, battery and a couple of other things.
