It is going to need some attention to the electric over hydraulic system, good thing l am done for the year. The 1440 is very dependable, l just wanted 4wd before l put certain hay fields back into row crops.

I am hoping to replace a Farmall 706 and a White 2-85 with this one tractor, we will see how that works out.

What a machine, beautiful!
Shows you how well engineered and made they are. There are still a lot of them in use after 40 some years.
Good looking and sounding machine 👍
Thanks 👍
Real nice tractor

Nice clean machine Fred
@@AnglesideFarm Thanks Steve, it has a few hours on it but they have kept up the maintenance.

The first of the IH rotaries, relative bought a new one in 1978 to do custom work. He did work along our two JD 105's for two years.
@@truthandfreedom885 There was a couple of 105s around here back in the day, one brother had a 95. They were simple and dependable, his had a spike cylinder, not ideal for corn.
@frede5656 Dad farmed 2000 acres in the 70's and we started combining barley in mid July and we were usually still combining sunflowers in November. I was 9 years old when I started running a combine. I got an 8 track player in the combine and went up and down fields all day long listening to Head East, Steve Miller, Triumph, Nazareth and other great 70's bands. Great memories

Its clean for a red machine. Just keep ut oiled and greased u b fine
Nice. Run it!
Obsolete the day it was new. Pretty cool.
When I was a kid, my Dad worked for a guy who owned a New Idea Uni-System. I remember in later years it was worn, tired and cantankerous, and parts were getting hard to come by. Never knew that the design originated with M-M until just recently, however. First time I've ever seen the earlier version!

Nice tractor
@@richardjohnson5883 Thanks, l think it's a good one.
My father bought a new 756 in the September of 1968 serial number 9264 so it made it a fairly early when, every time I see a 756 I have to check out the serial number LOL, you got yourself a damn good tractor
Switch to LED lights then all you need is on and off lol
I had one many moons ago. Excellent tough old tractors BUT when it come time to put money into that engine you might cuss it. Everything about that engine will cost almost twice the money over a 400 seris motor. Big problem is only 1 oring on the sleeves. I believe that motor would be a 30 to 40 thousand hour motor if not for that. We overhauled ours twice because of that. Made 9000 hrs 1st time, 2nd time i think it was around 11000. Ran it around 1500 hrs and sold it. It also had a turbo with around 90 hp. It was our go to rig. Just a nice little tractor. It spent app 250 hrs a year on a pto grain dryer plus all its other duties
@@craignepp524 l talked to the last owner when l picked it up, he just had the Case-IH dealer put o rings on the sleeves and they rolled rod and main bearings in at that time. It would have been a good time time to do sleeves and pistons as well but he chose not to. Considering my plans for light duty use l should be alright for many years to come. I am aware of the price of repairing that Robert Bosch injector pump versus the American Bosch on the 400 series (l own seven), given all this l am still happy with my purchase.
We have always been international guys. We never owned a 756 diesel . Come close buying a gas. Father in law owned 756 diesel. Had trouble with it starting. Cold hearted. Once you got warmed up ran good. We owned 706 diesel for years with the glow plugs. Had good luck with it. Very easy on fuel.
We have had both in the family, for the first year or so we had trouble starting the 756 diesel, but after we discovered the 'start' position on the fuel shut-off, it started much better. If you pull the shutoff half-way it increases the fuel pressure, the same is true of my 826 with the 358 German engine. We remind new operators to 'choke' it to start.
I always like the D310. I worked on one once. Always thought they sounded really good
My brother has one, but you knew that, lol!
@@frede5656 Yes but if you keep adding to the fleet, I’m going to have to stop over and reevaluate your inventory lol
We had a Vista. It was an easy driving tractor for me when I was a kid.
What breed is this looking very beefy!! Shorthorn?
You guessed it.
Hy! What is the difference between a soybean seeding drum and a corn seeding drum for sowing machines? Is it possible to sow soybeans with a corn drum? Thank you the answer!
I use a 144 hole drum to plant soybeans and a 36 hole drum for corn. You would have to speed the gearing up on the 36 up to achieve the population for soybeans, but it is possible. International also had a 72 hole drum, l used to plant navy beans with that. I hope that helps.
@@frede5656 Thank you very much for your help! Maybe you don't know a store where I can buy soy drums? It would be important to deliver to Hungary as well. Unfortunately, you can't get a 400 cyclo soy drum with us, we only have sunflower and corn drums.
What town or state?

Nice video. I was considering getting a bulk loader for the same gun, I think I'll try it out. Thanks!
I am very satisfied so far.
Hi, we have parts for your machine. We can offer free products and commissions for videos. Are you interested?
That looks expensive LOL
I took a fellow County man's advice, "its a farm dozer now, put the cheapest stuff on it you can find and you still will not wear it out again."
One year later, is the Harbor Fright impact still working good?
It is but l added a one inch Ingersoll for the heavy truck work.

I doubt it opens quite that far, l will measure it next time l use it.
From the first i would not started thats deffinity diesel going into base now your problems just got way bigger
Thanks for showing it cutting on both sides.
I usually open up the fields by making 6 rounds and baling that for silage bales. When l come back l can cut back and forth without lifting the head, this makes for the fastest turn l have found.
It is restorable, gonna be expensive, but the bones are there.
The engine parts are hard to find and very expensive when you find them, even without the added problems caused by the fire. You can see the cylinder head was off already, he was working on finding a replacement for a cracked sleeve.
@@frede5656 I'm involved in the industry, a good starting point would be the STEINERS Catalog.
@@Snuffaluffagis. And, a second choice is Allstates Ag Parts. Also know as ASAP. Fergieman
When my brother was gathering the parts for Dad's SMDTA he had to wait for the one company that still makes the engine bearings to run a production batch, there was no old stock to be found. In all he was a year finding sleeves, pistons, rod and main bearings as well as the complete gasket set. I may do a video on that tractor, there seems to be some interest in these dinosaurs.
I see plenty of people telling you where you can find parts which is true , BUT the part they seem to be ignoring is that you HAVE TO HAVE $ MONEY $ to be able to buy the parts with . With the fire destroying the building I'm guessing the owner has more important things to spend his remaining money on besides a show tractor that will see very little if any field work once it's restored if he decides to still restore it sometime in the future .
Big Oof.
too bad on a rare tractor
You know the history on this one too!
I agree with the last comment its fixable I had a barn fire with a john deere 60 1955 burned everything on it 2 months later after replacing every gasket, seals and alot of parts it that old tractor fired right up I got lucky because the crank case was still full of oil and the pistons were steel not quite done with it but it runs
Good day from Ontario So r u sayin if pistons weren't steel they would to have been changed? Thanks
@@donvoll2580 well most likely but the crank case was still full of oil so maybe not at the time I didnt know that they were steel because that when I bought it was in mint condition I started working right away and it run very good then the barn caught fire I thought it was no more than scrap metal until I started taking it apart maybe this thing can be saved and sure enough it is
@@buckshot8176 Well that is good Thx
My neighbor had a shed fire. He saved every one of his antique tractors. It just takes deep pockets because the insurance company will never pay enough to bring it back.
@@hturbo1007 you are absolutely right on that
Where are you located?
It is not for sale. It belongs to a good mechanic friend of mine, l have a straight super md for parts and we have talked of a 400 diesel donor. It will run again in some form, but maybe not 100% historically accurate!
That's fixable!!!!!!
Very sad
I saw the smoke when you were leaving :( - hopefully it will be a simple fix.
