2:40 A Doe Super Major by the looks of it. Designed by George Prior. As a young lad in scotland, i was fascinated by the one at the estates lumber mill. They used it to drag massive trees out of the forest and then haul the bulk trailer to the sawmill. I can still remember the synchronised roar of both engines and the smell of the heavy black exhaust as it pulls these huge trailers of trees.

Having this absolutely has to make you feel like Duncan or Paul with all their vintage machines....Really awesome piece of history..I am starting the build of my 1928 Morgan/GN special restomod..Mine in keeping with the English cyclers will be a Morgan/MG special....I will let you know..All of us cycle car collectors have to stay together...Even across the pond...

I watched this last week and as my X military 65 plate 2a 88 has started to slip in 4th up hill so after watching I thought mmm try the pipe from the cylinder 1st which I did today but after the test drive later it's still slipping so I am ordering the same clutch and plate as what I think you got LOF clutch kit for road spec and alignment tool, Must say I am not looking forward to it as I have never done a clutch before either. Thanks for the video winter job for me too and whilst its out I too can get some other jobs done in those areas given access.

What are the dog clutches on the back axle for? As soon as either one is declutched it won't move because of the diff - or is the diff lockable? 🤔

Look on TH-cam for "Taryl Fixes all" He does videos from his lawn equipment repair shop. Yeah he looks a bit frightful but he's full of good information and where to find obsolete parts. If you find one of his videos with an engine like yours He may even give you a part number and a leed to someone who remanufactured the parts you need, you may be able to contact him, IDK.

Build up the collet jaw faces with hard-facing welding rods. Skim a little off the shaft where it mates and do the same. Then have them both ground to match each other. You could also open up the gap between the collet teeth by 0.5mm or so. Then you can tighten the ding-dong diddley out of it.

I made a tensioner for a 57 Chevy’s windshield wiper cable assembly similar to what your tensioner on your spool steering looks like. The easiest way on the wiper in retrospect would have been to take a piece of banding metal like what you attach things down to a pallet with, and grind a couple slots in it so that you could bow it and force it onto the cable in the span that doesn’t matter,Since it only moves back-and-forth about 5 inches, and let its springiness keep constant tension on the cable. But On steering, your way is the way to go! It can’t have springiness or it could affect the tightness in a hard steer. very cool machine for sure! I’d rather rig then eat and I’m hungry all the time! Ha ha!

braze apiece of suare bar on the counter shaft and make the sproket fit the square with a flange one side and threadand nut the other that will stop iy jumping about and ratteling just a thaught ttfn&ty

How about filing a flat in the middle of the shaft ( like the ends ) then a locking bolt into a threaded hole in the sprocket .

What a great meeting with the most interesting assortment of early racers. In 1971 I went to Montlhery to a sports car race. It was a magic circuit the banking was in full operation and there was no better sight than the Matra Simca 670 v12 at full chat. I will always remember it screaming at full speed on the far side of the circuit made the hairs stand up on the back of your neck!

Everybody should have one! mine came from a local farm, it had been left outside for 50 years unused, the magneto was rotted in half as was the fuel tank, 10 days later with some used bits he lived again.
