Damn, that should’ve won Grand Nationals!!!
Would have swept all captions at GN
Everything was so smooth and well done! 6:18 was my favorite part with those trombone slides, and was the greatest to hear!
Yeah I quit guard so yeah
I'm in guard. I was literally like behind that thing in the back. And yeah, my name is Shanaya. It was fun. It was good, Monday 15 and yeah, so fun. I'm sorry it keeps saying sure. I don't know why it's being shirt.🎉
Call me old fashioned, but I love shows with few to no props.
Kids marched their asses off, such visual demand
5:05 such an amazing chord easily my fav part of the show
can i ask what section were you sitting in here? i’m looking at getting tickets to 2024 finals for my dad and i and would like to sit about this height
Lower Suites :)
I recommend this section for semis and quarters BUT finals night the closer you are to the 50 and the field is where it’s at. There’s nothing like it. The energy and the emotion consume you.
Tryna get good handicap seats for ‘24 recommendations pls!!
That chord😩 2:25
Wow, that's very impressive! Those xylophones make it sound like you're in a magical dream they sound so good.
this is way better than the flo marching recording
4:48
this venue fuckin blows. I hate lukas oil so much.
I don't mean to be joking but... Did they dance and prance and "Spamalot"?.. LOL.. On second thought lets not go to Camelot. It's such a silly place. Where is the cat they stepped on? Wait nobody understands the joke.
They DID have to push the pramalot....
2023 BOA Grand Champions (they would have beat Avon and Carmel)
I think so too
@ThisisourYear-wt3md no they don’t.
Could not agree more. We were aware of the fact that we were gonna get second at Champion of Champions since Blue Springs was gonna be there, but most of us were just excited to get so see them and perform against such a high level group. I was quite sad when I heard that they dropped. Us winning by four points for the second year in a row was a nice side effect though. Hypotheticals don’t diminish the experience of the players in the band, it stimulates interest and excitement in the activity. Also, how did you know that my band when to champion of champions? Did your band go as well? If so, which band are you in? I wonder if I saw you guys.
@ThisisourYear-wt3md no I wouldn’t. I don’t think anyone would. But that’s not what I’m arguing here. First of all, I, and I would imagine most others, mean no disrespect to any of the groups that actually did win when you complement another group. When I make a comment such as this one above, im saying it to build up the group im talking to, not tear down the other successful groups. And honestly, on a broader scale, I think it’s good for marching band as a whole to discuss who everyone thinks would do the best and thing like that. That’s why sites like HornRank exist. It can a: expose people to more excellent shows beyond the 12 grand nats finalists, and b: it can help show designers and directors to make their programs better either by talking about what makes top groups great, and what slight differences there are that make certain groups slightly better, or if they direct those top groups, they can hear what the general community thinks about their group/show and how they can improve in the future. While yes, some feelings may be hurt, that is unfortunately something that inevitably comes with anything that has a competitive aspect to it. Where one group wins, another has to lose. When someone theorizes that one group would have won, that also means that they think another group wouldn’t have. I understand your point, I really do, but I don’t think that we should ignore the people on the receiving end of the complement, as they deserve to hear what the populace thinks of their show.
No question they would have been in serious contention had they went. Incredible demand and really clean at this point in the season.
Looking for the name of the piece that starts at 4:50, specifically when they start toe down marching. Does anyone know the name of that specific piece? That shit it epic as fuck
It’s Lacrimosa by Mozart, and I’m glad you liked it! One of my favorite parts from the show
The rush from Australia (2008 movie) it switches to lacrimosa at 5:05
CK is one of my favorite drum corps. The brass sound is incredible. Not their best musical selection in my opinion. The GE effect is dispersed and confusing. I’m probably getting too old 😢. But what a great ending!
Musical magnificence. Had the drill been more exciting this would of been the winning show. Beautiful crown
I don't agree, the winning group did not have more exciting drill
Programs are becoming more & more effeminate.
Cope, they tell a story in a beautiful and musical way, watch military bands if it pisses you off that bad
Effeminate how? This was epic as fuck
Gah’damn! I forgot how much I love marching band pieces! They seem to have incorporated sound effects I would never contribute to a marching band piece/performance! Haven’t done marching band since 2015 in high school. So maybe I’m just out of the loop.
Voice overs/effects are more commonly used in shows now for GE. However, some corps still create great shows without them!
did they slow down the tempo during the brass feature?
They might have taken it down a notch. The only reason might be for the watered down double tonguing at the end but that’s all I can think of rn
10:58 who said Crown doesn’t do screamers.
This was their first year having one!
The opening hit from 2005 would like a word.@@christopherhelm5454
Was the french horn player injured!?
Stress fracture. He did only the solos and ensembles.
when ur drill writer also writes for crown so now we're doing a crown set for a christmas show....
WHAT
Cadets 2012
My favorite program of the season.
Omg. Thank you so much for posting this. This is my new favorite recording of their finals performance and it is way better than the Flomarching recording. They deserved so much better than 3rd. This show has given me goosebumps since they debuted it. In my eyes and ears, they won it all. 👑
i wanna listen to y'all practice. came from tiktok and did not expect bjork but that was a nice surprise. great number!
awesome recording. do you have any other shows?
I don't, sorry!
@@MollyKFavret no worries :)
I was not a fan of this show when I first heard it. But man what some crazy good brass players. The more I watched this show the more I started to enjoy it. Great job again on the sound quality and getting sucked into the show. You guys deserved 2nd if not 1st, but we know how that goes. At least we got best brass this season. Grats on 3rd though
I agree that I like it the more I listen to it. Definitely didn't deserve first but I think it deserved second imo
Should have been #1. More entertaining and musically superior to the other Corps. Only one that really kept my attention the entire performance.
Drum corps are a package, crown has the phenomenal music, but only great visuals. While their main competition have the lead in visuals
Visuals and percussion have always pulled their score down come finals time. If they can work on those two, they can easily be a Top 3 corps year after year.
@@Ganon136 their percussion has been worked on with the new staff, best percussion writing in years and placed 3rd in finals. It's really just visual that needs work
@@iainoam2565we must be watching different shows if you think crown was cleaner visually than bd
@@Ryan-dz7mg no once did I say crown was cleaner in visuals over BD. I said drum corps is a package deal, where Crown has "phenomenal music, but only great visuals" meanwhile their competition (bd) has the lead in visuals.
3:53 no way they just hit the griddy on us
Anyone else hear from the movie 1917 "night window" in the beginning 😁
Yes! Interesting choice. One of my favorite war movie scenes of all time.
I’m sorry, but making that mello player run from the 25 yd at 3:53 to their spot for the hardest brass feature in 10 years is inhumane 😂
Crown loves a good run and gun.
This was literally me! Probably my favorite sets to rehearse over and over....
@@kaylastanz5828got your cardio in for the entire offseason
@@kaylastanz5828it was you??
@@kaylastanz5828couldn’t have been you cuz it was literally me and I hated those rehearsals.
judgement by the unfair judge in DCI
crowds are not judges**
@@Ace_v120 Considering 85 to 90% in that Crowd has marched either DCI, DCA or another contest so they know what they are talking about. In addition to that, take any crowd reaction against this reaction from that same evening. Here's your real winner.
@@excidium8729I just don't agree. Crowd favorite shouldn't mean winner. Not because the crowd is unqualified as musicians but just because the most enjoyable show doesn't mean the best performed show. I think this show deserved second but the brass is not the only caption and the Blue Devils were insanely good
Crowd favorite for sure!
I got to see this in person at the Bradley classic comp it was so amazing 🤩
5 snares 2 quads and 4 basses?
Yeah we had a sick bass
@@swagman3879 you actually did!
I think they should switch to contra marching tubas
As one of the sousas in this I 100% agree
Sousa are always sharp and a bit to bright. Contras give a more mature sound
Congrats at winning state this year Signal Mountain! You all were awesome! - From a Betsy Band flutist
