    Very good video. If you put a piece of fabric between the edge band and the iron it may still get hot enough and protect the edge band from getting burn marks. That is what is done when ironing clothing.

    Thanks for an informative presentation, I have a pile of walnut milled from a tree on the property that I was going to try my hand at making octagon pedestals for a local taxidermist. I have approximately a 1000 board feet of 18" wide mostly clear boards that have been stickered and stacked in the shed for 3 years. It will be similar to your project with the exception of being constructed with raised panel "doors" for the sides. The biscuits should work well.... I was wondering how to position everything while gluing the sides. Thanks again, Dave

    1:00 Guy says he's been using 32mm for years and doesn't know it's 5/4".....

    • @marsdeimos4301
      @marsdeimos4301 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It isn't though. 5/4" is 31.75 mm. If you make two holes and space them 5/4" apart instead of 32 mm, it makes hardly any difference, but since this is about making a series of equally spaced holes, a row of 20 holes spaced 32 mm apart will be 15 milimeters longer than if they were spaced at 5/4".

      @@marsdeimos4301 It's 5mm less than a 1/4".... (0.200) actually.....actually it's less than that if you take into consideration half the distance of the first and last hole.

      @@williamskrainski8407 really, because what does 0.25 mm matter? accuracy is over-rated. 0.25mm per every 32mm over let's say a YARD so you can understand, let's see, that's only...
