Binge watching since Sept 2023. I can't get enough. I love this show from when I first saw it in the 90s.

What an enjoyable documentary about an amazing singer/actress! I'm a retired opera singer in the Netherlands, and some years ago our company performed Leonard Bernstein's "Candide" -- using the scenery and wardrobe from a recent production by Scottish Opera. And there, among the costumes, was the dress worn by a certain P. Routledge in the role of the Old Lady. One small point: it's always mentioned that Hyacinth's son Sheridan was never seen, but in fact a glimpse of the back of his head is spotted in one episode, in the back of a departing taxi...

The others were also fabulous. I got fond of almost each one which shows how good they were. I always got the feeling that Elizabeth was really a very clever woman who had to underlay herself to keep Hyacinth at bay.

i do support work and i have many a Mrs Bucket wannabes. happily, though once i refer to them as such they usually drop the ego and demands and accept that i'm just there to help. same with any dads army, are you being served and 2 ronnies quotes. the list could go on. even had a 96yr old quote me one from "the young ones" when i asked if she had a video/dvd..

Her facial expressions were also so brilliant!

Hyacinth BOO- KAY, intruded onto our effite Yank Telly airwaves via the PBS television network in the late 1990's! Cringe-comedy at it's bloody rude excellence !

Some of my fondest memories are attached to watching this on Public Broadcasting Services in the US with my daughter. She was probably 8 or 9 when It finally hit PBS in the US. We watched faithfully and in odd situations, one of us would quote an appropriate catch phrase. When she was a junior at university, she studied in Edinburgh. She told me she'd gone to Jenner's on Princes Street - and walking through the china department found herself surrounded by Royal Doulton. She immediately said, "with handpainted periwinkles!!!" - when she realized she'd said it out loud, she beat a hasty retreat (giggling all the way). Love this show!

I've watched this sitcom in America for over 25 years!!! The best show with a great cast of actors. So funny!!!! My daughter, who is autistic, just laughs when we watch this show!!! Actual talent, all natural talent.. Good luck finding such talent today.

I love this show so much. Every character. I'd watch with my wife in total dismay. Confused at my hysterical laughter at odd moments when Hyacinth reminded me of my mother in law.

I have to disagree with the statement that Hyacinth’s family did not want to better themselves! After all, Onslow watched a lot of Open University programs!

I am a 76 year old American fan of "Keeping Up Appearances" and loved it so much! I couldn't stop laughing at it and loved all of the characters in the show, am so thankful it was produced!❤❤❤

Thanks for posting this - hadn't seen this particular episode before although have watched KUA since it began and I was just a little kid then. Great show, great actors, great writing. Great memories. Things like this always makes me think that those of us who grew up in the 90s really were the lucky ones.
