Is this meadowtree farm? 😅
What do you give your calves a shot of when you bring them home from auction?
Good cattle and looks like good prices too you did a great job on them
you have made a good job of them they are credit to you .
I'm guessing the price is per head?
Can you please explain to me why these calves are not out in a field eating grass with the mothers? Surely both mother and calf are hugely distressed by this forced separation?
omg
Nice and easy to understand english speaking thank you
Over here in the Netherlands the local anaesthetic and sedation has to be done by the vet. The calfs are not allowed to be older then two months, Thats the law. and they get rimadyl in the muscle (pain killer for 3 days)
Welcome back! I've been applying all that I've learned through your videos and the little ones are doing great...recently I bought a dehorning iron, so this video comes just in time. Cheers!
Hey great videos, glad you're back. When do you castrate the bulls?
Another enjoyable video you are very well organised pleasure to see your calves
Do you deep litter them, then muck out after each batch has gone through?
Yes, they get bedded up daily, then all gets mucked out and disinfected after
Just found your page. Thank you for sharing. I'm hopeful of getting an FBT on 30 acres. Do you think 50 calves is a feasible number on this acreage? I was looking at selling as stores between 9 & 12 old. Before the next batch starts
How old that calf starting to be given calf starter and water like that?
I give as soon as we buy them so anywhere from 2 weeks old, they only nibble to start but by weaning they are eating very well, gives them a really good head start
Your set up is so nice, I want to copy it. Sir would you mind sharing the measurements of each cubicle? Planning to make the same for my calfs, thanks in advance!!! :) from Miggy & Gabby Forecastle Ranch - Oriental Mindoro Province, Philippines
Love the herd brilliant farming
What age do you usually put the calves on to once a day at?
Pretty awesome looking set up you've got yourself there, all of your calves in the video are certainly looking pretty impressive, even the slightly smaller one that was finding it a little tougher than your others is looking pretty good too considering. Also, just curious as to what age to you usually begin the weaning process on your operation? Not sure how much longer the calves in this video have to go before weaning, sure looks as though your white coloured calf will do just fine, she's already a brute in the size sense, and clearly happy to eat up your chosen calf starter feed. Certainly wish you and your family the best there, it's very clear that you're very knowledgeable at rearing top quality calves, along with a very clear intent to care for their overall welfare, I truely hope your operation is quite profitable for you, you've clearly been honestly earning it. Sorry to hear you're not in the best of health yourself, hope you're health does improve soon. Thanks for finding the time to share with us whilst you run your farm. Kind regards 😀👍
Calves looking well did you raise many this year?
Bought 66 this year and so far they all seem to be doing very well 😊
@@cornishcalves9216 Handy number fingers crossed they all stay healthy all the way through

Hi great videos. Do you manly rear bull calf’s?
Awesome I work on a beef farm in Essex great job 😎
A healthy 2022
Thank you for all your videos helping me raise calves in Seattle!
Thats amazing to hear! Hope they all do great for you 😊
Happy new year! From Launceston Cornwall. Learning lots thanks
Not far from me at all! Happy New Year
It's a funny time of year really wet and mild we've had a bit of pneumonia in weaned calves and milk calves luckily they seem to be over it now nigel seems to be doing fine your calves are a credit to you
Thank you 😊 Nigel has recovered so well its almost hard to believe this time last week I thought we would lose him, yesterday he went in with the other weaned calves and is just back to his usual lively self 😊
Love your vids we have some bad pneumonia at work what do you suggest
100% vaccinating them, I rarely get any with pneumonia. But treatment wise I use Alamycin LA and metacam and always put a rug or blanket on to keep them warm, I'll treat any calf with a temp over 103.5, usually can catch it early using the thermometer
Thank you for your videos. I have just found your channel and have been looking at your past videos. They are excellent and I commend the care you give to your calves. I am trying to learn the very best practice in rearing calves. I pour my hot water into my cold first of all and then add in the milk powder last of all and then mix. I wonder if the milk powder hitting the hot water would be detrimental to the enzymes in it? I also wonder about the use of Alamycin LA on every calf. Would you not consider that overuse of antibiotics? Just a question, really. I am just curious. But absolutely great videos and your calves and stock are an absolute credit to you. You are an example to all of how to care for calves and give them individual and meticulous attention. Well done!
Great to see your back nice video 👌
Thank you I appreciate it 😊
Do you clean the calf pens every day? And do you clean them by hand?
The pens get bedded up every day, they get fully cleaned after each calf is weaned and moved into a bigger pen, depending on where the pens are we either do it by hand or take down the front which is very easy and bring the loader in then disinfect ready for the next one
@@cornishcalves9216 40 years ago I raised veal calves. It's nice to see an operation that raises calves professionally as opposed to so many places where calves are just tied to a wall and neglected.
Glad to see you back 😊
Thank you 😊
Anymore videos coming up? Really enjoyed the ones you have done to date, very nicely presented.
Hi yes making one today, been hectic with the new calves but hopefully have one by the end of today 😊

Hy bro
Hi i would love to visit and view your system, pls 🙏 do get back and let me know
How many calves Male and female.
Calves are looking very hungry and I'll.
You obviously don't know, these calves are fed the very best and are ad lib so in no way under fed. They also have all their vaccinations so aren't ill and went on to make top price at market. You can easily educate yourself by doing some research. Thank you 😊
Don't separated calves from their mother.
Better they are hand reared than have no life at all. Their mothers were dairy cows.
Nice cows nice Daihatsu truck
Thank you, we have about 8 on the farm! Great farm trucks, getting harder to find now though!
Bloody fine cattle you have and your troughs are brilliant
Lovely video. Really looking well. I got ring worm as well been a good year for it
Thank you 😊 they are growing up so fast, doesn't seem 5 minutes ago we were bringing them home form market!
Ringworm?
Yes they get ringworm, doesn't bother them or hold them back luckily, it's a fungal infection
Excellent looking calves you must be very proud of them all take care
Thank you, I'm very proud of them, they are amazing creatures
Nice big calfs there huge looking good
Looking well
What vaccine do you use on the Calfs for the cough. I normally give them a shot of hexasol after buying. Last year was the frist time I I used the vaccine and I ended up you antibiotics on them all I was going to try the vaccine up the nose
I use Rispoval intra nasel and swear by it, no losses in 3 years since I started using it. I give 7ml of alamycin on arrival as well
You've got some bonny looking calves there, well cared for and it shows, well done.
Your cattle are all looking well big prices this year for them
Thank you very much, very pleased with them, makes the hard work worth it!
