I think it's disgusting that talented people are turned away for their appearance. So what if she had dreadlocks? Nothing wrong with them and she was beautiful just the way she was. They deprived the world of the full potential of her talent. I'm so sad to hear she passed away. Your voice will live on beautiful lady. RIP.
great video. not enough people talk about doug and his leadership during the early days of the gin blossoms. i hope more people hear his story, i believe he was one of the most talented song writers in the 90s but he was cut short.
Just more proof of how dark and twisted the music industry is. Imagine how many good songs we never heard because of em
Great work ! ❤❤❤❤❤ love his voice!
"Although I nearly drowned, I know what it is to be thirsty..." RIP Doug Hopkins
I am sorry life wasn’t nicer to you Q
Wishing peace to Doug, solace to Bill and good health to Phil.
❤
Welcome to Vsauce, Michael here!
Diane luckey was lucky for "goodbye horses".... *or was she?* 《Michael from Musical Vsauce》
What an awesome real life story. Thank you so much for sharing the light that this young lady presents to the world. You did a great service by making this video!
Thank you for the information. I love her music.
Amazing. That was a great one, like a really good movie or book…Biggest plus for me, is that I was previously unfamiliar with this artist, Maggie Rogers. I can’t wait to start listening to her music, getting her albums!
Really neat story. Enjoyed how you told it.
I still remember this song when I use to play skate 3 like 13 years ago I loved it and it’s been on replay for me ever since
Thank you for this video I’m sad her career did go anywhere
I thought this was a Vsauce video
Not a one hit wonder, the only wonder is how she never became bigger than she got.
And damn, I didn't know that Diane Luckey had a few seconds in Philadelphia the movie. That was an Oscar winner back in the day and in all the theory videos about her over the years no-one else has mentioned that !
Awesome storytelling! Really never knew the history of The Band.
Good stuff. Always love checking out your stories, and happy to see you here on TH-cam!
Thank you!
Jam & Lewis did NOT create New Jak Swing. Teddy Riley did & it was coined by George Jackson when he started working on the movie New Jack City.
Teddy Riley was definitely an important pioneer. But Jimmy James and Terry Lewis belong on the Mt Rushmore
@@patrickhicksmusicstories absolutely along with LA & Babyface and Prince. But we can't throw around titles all willy-nilly. Ted is the king of New Jack Swing.
@@mrmiggedy123 I agree with that
She was amazing in both shows!!
Janet was also on Different Strokes for a while. I believe that was in 82
Correction. Janet joined the FAME cast in 1984.
You’re right, my bad
Song was perfect for that scene!!
The movie actually I feel killed the song, it's like everyone tied it with a trans serial killer. I personally find it very bohemian, and always took the song as a true work of art, very enchanting, mesmerizing and indeed a captivating beat....
Great video man 🎉!!!
What a cool story and video. RIP Diane.
It's such a weird song, which makes it perfect for THAT scene. So haunting and ethereal. I love the cover by Crosses
Crosses version is great.also the version by airborne toxic event
Diane Lucky Rest In Peace. Gone but never to be forgotten! Great Video, thank you!
The only song she ever put out was goodbye horses. A one song wonder
You just commented without watching huh?
That's really sad. Sorry she never got the recognition she deserved, nor her bandmate that wrote the song!
I enjoyed this, thank you
She made her mark in this world. That's for damn sure.
I always thought that song was the PERFECT weird to go with that scene. Like nothing else woulda fit like that
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell the story behind the song? It’s about the Indian Bhagavad Gita. Goodbye Horses I’m flying over you is about reaching spiritual enlightenment. It makes the song even more beautiful. 🙏🏼♥️☮️🕊
That would be the story OF the song. What he told is the story BEHIND the song.
What happened to Vsauce bro 😭
Love the video! I just released a cover of “Goodbye Horses” if anyone is interested in hearing it! th-cam.com/video/2y_EoGuwo_4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1HlyLQjSWGp88nIB
Her version of the song that featured on Philadelphia is beautiful.
Such a great song. Check out my cover! th-cam.com/video/2y_EoGuwo_4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1HlyLQjSWGp88nIB
"Woh no sir..."
Gracias por la información
amazing story!!! thank you
Massive fan of this song and I hadn't heard the Jonathan Demme cab ride story.. fascinating. As you say it's sad that she never received the credit or reaped the benefit of her talent but she has left an indelible legacy that bands like 'Indelible Scars' and 'Tone of Arc' have honored with outstanding cover versions of her iconic track. Respect! 🙏💙
She has a voice as beautiful and iconic as annie lennox imo!❤ It always baffles me how some people can be so popular and memorable while others fade into obscurity even when they have everything working in their favor. I guess part of it is having the right people backing you up and one having the tenacity to push through, and the other part being timing and luck. At least we'll always remember Q for her voice and the amazing songs she brought to life 😓
Goodbye horses, hello Regan
Is a favourite song of mine as well as others here in comments ... I want to share an extra ordinary cover in full spirit of the original ... Powerful stuff ... To me it is in full tribute th-cam.com/video/MXDXLQshLEo/w-d-xo.html
Wow!
Makes one wonder: How many Q Lazarruses are out there? She deserved a career in her chosen field.
More than you'll ever know.
There are so many genius songs sitting on vinyl, tapes, CDs, and especially hard drives that never will reach a wider audience, maybe because the creator didn't intend it to be spread or because it lacked whatever it took for it to become famous. Also, so many talents out there who never realized their potential.
This is my new hyper focus song
Ive never heard a better song.I doubt I ever will.Sad that she passed. All things pass, into the night...
Such a great song. Check out my cover! th-cam.com/video/2y_EoGuwo_4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1HlyLQjSWGp88nIB
