Starlet Nights
Australia
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 24 มี.ค. 2022
Welcome to the channel, my name is Matteo (I also have a real name but I can't pronounce it).
The adventure begins in the land of Canberra, some say it's the best country in the world.
Everything started with a 3rd-hand Toyota Sarlet EE91 with cracked windows and oxidised paint
Weird sense of humor: ✅
Several install videos will be recorded at night (because work), hence why the name "Starlet Nights".
But I'll also record videos on weekends, events, and whatever comes to mind, car-related... hopefully I'll get better at this, please bear with me :P
Come along on this Starry journey, subscribe to the channel, and watch me make countless mistakes!

IT'S OVER
Yep, we are at the end of this journey and the Starlet has got to go. But the future looks brighter than ever, watch to find out why.

So much fun! In Germany we don’t have races like this - a pity! We are driving the same Starlet in „light purple metallic“ - with lighter wheels: VW Lupo 3L Fuchs Schmiedeleichträder - 4.4 kg each rim.
@@taymot2131 Amazing, I lived in Europe for a while and yes, there wasn't much besides track days!
WOW ! AWESOME !
Nice car happy days❤
Man, how did you find that ultra low mileage Paseo gauge cluster??!!. My head exploded when I saw the mileage! 🤯
Haha to be fair it was about 220k Km, but I brought it back that much for the lols
Hey mate how much did you end up lowering front and back?
Back is max low, (about -14cm) front about -13cm I believe, something round those numbers
The old one wheel peel... noice
Haha yeah I refuse to put a wheel cover
Rims are 16 inches?

It was fun following this project, curious to see what comes next.
Really appreciate it mate, more news coming soon 😉
😢😢😢 I think you will miss your Starlet...🤷🏽
I think so too 🤐
😢
Doesn't have ABS? somehow generations survived without it. Keep a safe difference and no problems.
In normal conditions it is not a problem, but speed+rain+busy road makes it kinda unpredictable. The ABS was actually the main reason the late EP91 Glanza beat the EP82 GT on the track 😉
@@starletnights1Yeah I agree with you, especially on Australian freeways where people are crazy, everyone’s tailgating, it’s best to have ABS and stability control these days. That and there’s no crash structure in a starlet, if you get hit over 50kmh you might not live.
@@WTCHME spot on
That looks like a fun little track! Would like to run my twincharged aw11 around that!
It's definitely worth a go!
tracks been there for over 30 yrs no secret at all use to be used as police driver training course , hill climb events ARC did few rounds there in late 90's if you want a real hidden race track check out Catalina Park in blue mountains NSW

I just did this mod to my EP81 starlet but it should be the same for 80 or 82 starlets. For those interested you can use Toyota paseo sway bar parts: Bolt front Stabilizer, Toyota 48819-10010 (2x) Bracket front stabilizer, Toyota 48824-20040 (2x) Nut, Toyota 94182-10800 (4x) (or 8x*) Retainers for cushion, Toyota 90948-02032 (8x) Front Stabilizer cushion,Toyota 48817-10020 (8x) Bolt, Toyota 91611-60822 (4x) Toyota 91612-B0822 (4x) *I couldn't find these but the 94182-10800 nuts above also fit you just have to supply your own washers Hopefully this helps someone :)
@@stefa4013 thanks mate, appreciate the info!
@@starletnights1no worries, thanks to you as well mate. I had the courage to do this mod because of your videos. There isn't much info on starlet upgrades so thanks for sharing your mods and upgrades :D
@@stefa4013 that's amazing to hear, thanks mate!
Shhh. Don’t tell anyone about it, because that'll just bring in the yahoos and give the ACT Government a reason to shut it down and turn the land into "the new premiere housing estate, nestled between Canberra and Queanbeyan".
How true, they have never been supporting motorsport tbh
That rs3 owner understands Audi doesn’t know how to put engines in cars to make them not understeer lol
Hey Matteo, would you be interested in an Ep82 Turbo Starlet in Canberra? My project has stalled!
@@Elhuena maybe, please send me some details on starletnights@gmail.com 😃
Just a stones throw from my place. On a clear day I can hear the climb. And the GoKart track next door, and the Dirtbike track next to that, and the oval track up the hill.......

great content. i ordered one exactly like yours. quick question, how did you remove the handbrake cover? i unscrewed mine but seems like it was stuck with something in the back. any tips?
@@neverendingblissxx yes the cover is hard to remove, i actually left mine on because at least it didn't slip, but you should be easily able to remove the trim while it's still on!
@@starletnights1 i need to remove the cover coz i bought a ashtray with a cup holder from Japan, which is hard to find. Let's see, will give it a try again.
@@neverendingblissxx i gave up because i concluded it had to be broken to be taken out, happy to be wrong though!
Saw the traffic lights thumbnail and was “hang on, I think I DO know that place!” Clicked on it and Bingo! 10km from where family lives. Went there first time about 3mths ago too. I’m certain I saw your car. A very distinctive blue number 39 and a Renault fan (grew up Belgium with 205s and Clios), but it wasn’t very hot day…..have you been other times more recently? Anyway was just spectating. There was a monster Audi that got best time in all sessions as far as I can remember. FYI all: it’s much steeper up AND down than GoPro’s make it look and occasionally they’ll make it a two-lap timed event.
@@mbbb9244 nice, thanks mate! Yes I raced here quite a few times, there used to be more Renaults here but they all disappeared this year. I think you're referring to the red RS4?Unfortunately last i missed the two lapper as it filled too quickly 🥺
@@starletnights1 Yep. The red RS4. Next time I go I’ll do a bit of homework on the who’s who

@@scottjacobsen2889 it's a great little track, these events are great fun and affordable too!

Where did you get your air filter? I am in USA so it is hard to get Toyota Dealership to assist ordering OEM parts after providing part numbers. Thanks 😅
I have got it from Repco here in Aus, I am sure your retail shops should be able to get you one, even if on special order.
I want to add a pressure gauge to visually check it anytime
I was planning to make a video on gauges install but things got sideways. Basically you need an oil filter relocator to be able to add a sandwich plate for the gauges' sensor as there won't be enough clearance otherwise.
