I have seen, Manatee, Alligators, Alligator Gar, Tarpon, Mullet, several species of Turtles, in the water and on land, Squirrels, Nesting Peregrine Falcon, many species of birds, Screech Owl at the visitor center, and Butterflies!

Liked the music, glad you shared your experience, but had the ability to doze off in the middle of viewing. Thankful I didn't have to walk through it all.

oh you took the Eastern route most folks choose it..I live near the Western Route and I love the forests and wilderness of the Western Route!

How often do you fast?
I normally like to bring the new year with a 72 hour fast and then go into a rolling 36 for the month. But hiking that many miles really requires some food intake. I normally only eat 1 meal a day and sometimes some butter in my coffee in the morning. I like to switch my fasting up so my body doesn't get use to a schedule. So far it's been working.

9-17 miles a day, just depends on weather and a safe place to spend the night.
Good for you for doing this. I keep thinking I'll get to a point where I can take a long hike, but it seems like there's always something I have to attend to.

@@kathibrown6770 I understand not wanting to hike alone, it's difficult. It hard to find someone who can or will walk the same pace; really have to find someone you can get along with for such a journey.
