      @stevendigitalbutler 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, 1st of all your IR remote control must be Tuya/Smartlife compatible, which means your App can control the air-con operation. If that is the case, you would create a new Automation scene - When device status changes (ie window open) then Turn OFF air-con. Hope this helps

      Hi, I am not sure how your set up is but based on the above, it seems that you have a door sensor and a window sensor and if either one open, you need the switch off the air-con. is this correct? If it is, then may be look at the automation scene, under the IF section, make sure that either condition can trigger the OFF sequence. If you set it to ALL, then both the door and window needs to be open before the air-con OFF sequence will be triggered

      @@stevendigitalbutler Hello, there is no all option on my Smart Life application, there is only ON and OFF, and during the test the sensor stopped showing the status of whether it is connected or disconnected. Maybe I should delete everything and try reinstalling or try the Tuya Smart app. I have a house for rent to tourists, I have 4 air conditioners, 4 IR controllers and I need to install 6 sensors. Now I'm only trying one sensor for one room. Guests open the window and turn on the air conditioner. Your video on youtube and your help mean a lot to me. Thank you very much.

      @stevendigitalbutler หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, how many sensors do you have in a room. Just windows or windows and door? The ALL condition met is usually right under the IF word. Assuming you only have 1 window sensor and when it is open, then you want to switch off the air-con - automation should start with "when device status change" and action (THEN section) should be switch off air-con. Since you say you now no longer can see the sensor, it might be a good idea to delete both devices and pair them again. Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes

    I'll start a new thread. Just to clarify...here's what I'm trying to do... I have two plugs. "Room 1" is connected to one plug, "Room 2" is connected to the other. What I want is to set a scene, that turns off "Room 1", when "Phone 1" leaves the area, and the same thing for "Room 2", when "Phone 2" leaves the area. (Let's keep it simple, and not worry about turning it back on). HAS ANYONE DONE IT SUCCESSFULLY? I was successful to make it work on "phone 1", but can't make it work on "Phone 2". I have set "Phone 2" As an administrator... It gets messy, so I want to understand... From my phone, I enter "Room 2", then go to "top right pencil icon", then I go to "Share device", then "add, and then enter a region, and account to "Phone 2". (are you with me so far?) Now on "Phone 2" I have access to "room 2", but when I try to set a "scene" when location changes, and I'm trying to "control single device", I have nothing listed. So let us try another way... I click on "left top home icon", than "home management". There I click on "my home name" and enter "Add Member" close to the bottom, and I set "Phone 2" name and account number. So now, I'm working on "Phone 2" I accept the invitation via "Me (right bottom icon"--->Preferences and I accept the invite. Now when I'm creating a scene "when location changes"---->"leave"----> apply location. And when I hit then ---->"control single device"---- choose a "room 2".... AND HERE, TWO OPTIONS. "Switch 1"----> (on, off, or reverse switch) and "Overcharge Switch"---> which gets only (on, off) I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IS WHAT... And this is the way I've had it set-up, just "switch 1-off". And when I left with both phones... "Phone 1" worked, and "Phone 2" didn't. (I watched the status on them outside) Sorry for this long post, but I had to be sure you understand it well, and maybe offer some ideas.

    • @stevendigitalbutler
      @stevendigitalbutler 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, you have an interesting situation. 1st of all, when I try to use location on my Smartlife App, it says that this function is still in Beta, which means there may be some bugs in it. My App only allow me to restrict the zone in a 100 m radius. At 100 m, you most likely need to leave the house before the scene triggers. No 2: when you are on Phone 2 you can see Switch 1 and OverCharge Switch, which suggest that the 2 switches are from different manufacturers. But you can access either one. All you need to do is to name properly? if you already name them Switch 1 and Switch 2 and Switch 2 is showing as OverCharge Switch - this I have no explanation. the problem is - when you are trying to set Phone 2 with Switch 2: the confusion seems to be not knowing which switch to turn off - so can you just pull out Switch 1 from the power socket? This way when you are setting up Phone 2, you should only see 1 switch (and it should be Switch 2). Sorry, couldn't be much help. Do keep me inform if you can figure it out. Oh one more thing! can you check if Phone 2 has location turn ON and the App have permission to access location?

    • @rafraf4725
      @rafraf4725 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@stevendigitalbutler First thing I checked was if the Location option on. Honestly, I have no Idea what the "Overcharge" option do. Everything is just as you described in Tuya, as it is in Smart life. Maybe, because it's in beta , they are still working on it. When I'm setting Phone 1 I have only "switch 1" listed, but when I'm setting up Phone 2, I still have "Switch 1" listed, not "switch 2", and also the "Overcharge" as a second option, but no clue what it does. And I left with both phones to check it out, so I could see if any of the plugs where on, or off, and as I said, mine turned off, the other one, no change.

    • @stevendigitalbutler
      @stevendigitalbutler 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @jaredchew21, unfortunately, the Tuya or Smartlife app does not have a way to tell if you are at home. There are 2 possible way I can think of, that may solve your problem: 1) Set your automation to only turn on lights when door open. There will be no turning off lights the next time you open the door. So, this way it will not turn off by the door sensors, but you will need to manually turn it off when you leave the house. 2) If your schedule is fairly fix, you can set the automation to only run at a certain time. Assuming you usually reach home at 7 - 8 pm. You only have the automation to run at those time. Once it is out of the time range, opening and closing the door would affect your lights. Hope that helps and if anyone have any other ideas, please share it here too.

      Hi @mattshih5653, Usually turning ON lights after "x" minutes after motion is detected is possible, just add a delay timer befroe switching the lights. But switch OFF, I have not find away to do date from the App. We are using the device status change setting to turn ON or OFF but there is no way of saying turn OFF light after "x" minutes, only if no motion is detect. The delay function wouldn't work because there is no looping function that say after "x" if there is still motion, don't switch off light and wait for another "x" minutes to test for no motion. My motion detection runs on a 30 seconds cycle, which means it will check for motion every 30 seconds after the light is switched ON. If no want is in the room after 30 seconds, it will automatically switch OFF the light. But if you are still in the room, it will still switch OFF the light but immediately switch it back ON. If you are there for a long time, this can my annoying.

    Once installed and working, it will alert every time when door is opened. Can I set it up so it is silent when I'm home, but when leaving home I can activate it? Is that a setting in Smart Life?

      Hi, Unfortunately, I don't think that it is possible. The door sensor doesn't seems to appear in the automation or tap-to run section. Looks like only way to do it now is to switch the notification ON or OFF manually. I'll keep looking and if I find a solution, I'll update this here. Should you find a solution, please also post back. Good luck

      I have worked out a way. In the door contact settings, it had four alerts set Door Alarm, Low Battery, Closing reminder and Tamper Alarm. I turn off the Door Alarm and Closing reminder. The I create a new scene in Smart Life and call it Alarm. I set up two conditions i.e. when door alarm is off and door alarm is on, then activate Message centre. This scene can be enabled or disabled on the scene screen. When disabled, no alert is sent for the door on/off or reminder. When enabled I get a notification for the door on/off. That seems to work fine.. @@stevendigitalbutler

      Is your new router Wifi 6? I have not tried it, but devices seem to have problems connecting via Wifi 6 router. Some say that disabling the AX function in the router might work. Again, I have no experience with this. The only thing I suggest is to go through Tuya and or device manufacture documents and see if they mentioned anything on this. Here is a site where, hopefully, you can find an answer. Please let me know if you find a solution. Good luck

    Thanks for the tutorial. Very good. Can I ask some questions, with the 'Motion Alarm' function. If ticked, does the alarm sound goes off when motion detected? how loud is the alarm sound? and can it be set to alarm sound only at particular time for example night time only from 1am to 6am? Thanks.

    • @stevendigitalbutler
      @stevendigitalbutler ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your kind words. For 'Motion Alarm' - this is assuming that you do not have an alarm in your setup and you are just using the App: the model I tested does not give an audible alarm from the phone. Just a push notification and vibrate when motion is detected. I am not sure if another manufacturer has an audible alarm coming from the App. As for schedule to turn the alarm on or off, I have not been able to send any smart scene to do that. sorry couldn't be more helpful. If you do get it to work, please let me know.

      thanks for the feedback, will try to do without music on my next video. As for turning on lights after sunset, go to the Scene>Automation tab. then the "+" icon at top right. Select"When weather changes">Sunset/sunrise>Sunset> then select the timing you prefer>save. Then "Next". In the "Then" section click on the "+" icon and select the device(s) you want to activate. If you have many lights to switch on, I suggest you make a group 1st and then just activate the group. Hope this helps

      Hi, these are Wifi only devices. As long as you have an internet connect and a router, you are good to go. No hub required. Just make sure that when you buy your devices, they are wifi only and it is competible with the App you are using. Some brand will only work with their own App.

    • @stevendigitalbutler

      Yes, you can. As you mentioned, you need to change to a smart switch, which will involve some wiring work. Make sure that both the sensor and switch can be control by the same App. Then the logic will be the same as per my video. Good luck and do let me know how it goes

    I would like to implement this scenario but I'm not so practical: if the presence of a customer is not detected for 5 minutes then turn off the air conditioner through the relative smart PIR.

    • @stevendigitalbutler
      @stevendigitalbutler ปีที่แล้ว

      1st you need to have a Tuya competible Universal IR Blaster to make that work. If you have, then the logic would be similar to my video. Let me know ho wit goes.

    • @enricolazzerini9993
      @enricolazzerini9993 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevendigitalbutler I'll try to explain the question better: I need help because I can't understand the "PIR status" and "Nobody has passed" functions of the motion sensor to implement the following scenarios Platform consisting of 1 Tuya zigbee wired gateway + 1 zigbee motion sensor + Smart IR Wifi both acquired from the Tuya App platform Object1: check for the presence of guests in a room. If a guest goes out, the absence check begins for 15 minutes, but if he returns within that period of time, the count must start from zero. After 15 minutes without detecting any presence, a smart IR must be activated to turn off the air conditioner. Object2: set a magnetic contact on the window which, if it remains closed, allows activation of the air conditioner with its remote control, otherwise not. (obviously implementing a smart socket) Update: I understood that: pir status means it has detected a movement. After a period of time which is usually 30 seconds but can also be different depending on the detector, this goes back to waiting for detection and "no one has passed" appears until the next passage is detected If pir state means it detected human presence and after 30/60/120 seconds change to none passed until next pir state change, I could try like this: If PIR Status = no one has passed (therefore it is in this condition after 30/60/90 sec from when it detected the last presence...) i will delay 15 minute action which will switch off the air conditioner as long as the scope of validity is still no one has passed (condition which remains valid if PIR status is not activated again...) But it doesn't seem to work because the scope of validity serves simultaneously and only for the trigger and not to condition the execution of the action.

    • @stevendigitalbutler
      @stevendigitalbutler ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually the 1st place I would suggest you look at is the Wi-Fi. Both the phone/tablet and the bulb need to be in the same 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi. It has to be 2.4 GHz. Also, ensure that you reset the bulb and put it into pairing mode, which is indicated by a fast flashing of the bulb. Once it is flashing, only then can you start the pairing process. Hope this helps Do let me know how it goes.

      This particular plug is rated for 10 Amp which I think it is too low for Air-con. There are others that is rated for higher Amp. Check your air-con manual and see what is the requirement and get 1 that can handle the load but I would stay away from using smart plugs. If you have a split air-con, usually that comes with a remote and in such cases I will get a universal IR blaster to switch ON/OFF the air-con that way
