I feel extra on the spectrum when I look at international TV bumpers and interstitials. Not to mention, those bumpers and interstitials from different eras, even if I was too young to experience it.

I never thought I’d say this, but I actually miss cable nowadays. It had a certain liveliness and personality and “warmness” that just hits different compared to streaming. Streaming feels more isolated and lonely in a weird way

CN’s Redraw Your World bumpers almost gave me have hope that the network would be good again, but then Zaslav happened, and was replaced with yet another soulless rebrand that is Pastel. Check It felt like that last branding that represented CN’s strengths…

This speaks to me deeply, as someone who both loved Boomerang AND first watched a lot of uploads/compilations of CN's Powerhouse + City bumpers & (to a lesser extent) 90s Nick bumpers back in the late 2000s/early 10s. I guess I've always had this fascination with culture from before my time, ever since I had access to things like TH-cam. I just thought (& still think) they were neat, & gave their respective channels a lot of flavor. Also, it's a very strange & somewhat concerning feeling to nowadays see archival videos for late 2000s & 2010s bumpers that I was actually there for & saw on TV in real time...

Apparently, being fascinated by tv idents from kids channels are just the tip of the iceberg. In fact, I'm mostly fascinated with idents worldwide other than the USA (which are mostly non-kids channels.)

Wanted to say first the guy sitting near to the creator of Mario timestamp around 3:58 looks like Jonny depp when he had his hair styled that way and the exact mustache, and the glasses so if anyone would want to know what Depp would look like if he was Japanese, the dude sitting with the creator of Mario would be him or a doppelganger for sure. Also am I the only one or the very few people that thinks the Mario story of him having to rescue the princess almost in every storyline of the game is getting a little old? I mean what is so special about princess peach or toadstool for Bowser or king koopa to kidnap her all the time? I know this is just a fantasy but if this was a real thing I'm sure Mario would grow tired of rescuing her all the time.

I’m so glad that I’m not the only one that had a fixation on TV bumpers/idents, I think they are an under appreciated art form. I grew up with Cartoon Network so I have fond memories of it’s branding but as I’m from the UK I also had a fixation on Channel 4’s 2004-2015 idents which you should check out as they are really good.

It sucks that Nickelodeon bumpers died out of creativity once they rebranded in 2017. Even if the 2023 rebrand did improve most of the mistakes the previous era had, it still feels generic.

07:45 ok I must say it at this point. I’m tired of these young ass edgy youtubers who like to freely insult something people like with the most pathetic retarded roast (example: "New Super Mario Bros 2 is… a game that exists" or in this case "and then they made…… this") and leave a silence behind like there’s nothing else to say about it. TH-cam is flooded with these same young ass youtubers with the same god retarded insults who are clearly too habituated to not get punched in the face for speaking shit online.

Very well-made video. I'm really glad this showed up in my recommendations. You made some really excellent points. I was already an adult by the time the Wii came out as I actually grew up with the SNES and the N64 back in the 90s as well as some Genesis and PS1 and of course Game Boy, but honestly I was actually pretty excited about the Wii because I like the idea that they were just going to completely change the control scheme and looking back at it I do think there was some games for the Wii that really didn't need the motion controls, the ones that truly utilize them such as Wii sports that came included with the Wii of course as well as Wii play as well as some other games that utilize that well which included Mario party 8. I think Mario party 8 did a great job with the motion controls and I know this might be unpopular but I really enjoyed Sonic and the secret rings. I actually was fine with the control scheme. But nobody ever talks about the mini games in Sonic and the secret rings. Those were a lot of fun as well. Although I'll be honest as soon as Mario party 8 came out my friends and I didn't even bother with the Sonic and the secret rings mini games anymore but we played those mini games a lot before Mario party 8 came out.

10:15 you didn't mention advance wars. The two best advance wars games came out for the ds. Days of room was the most balanced of every advance wars game and the most fair and it just had the greatest units and was the best to play.

6:34 I do agree that Mario kart super circuit is not the best Mario kart game but I don't consider it to be the worst either. I think it's really cool how in Mario kart super circuit if you drop a red shell behind you but basically becomes a proximity mine and it waits for another driver to get in front of it and then it will seek after them and take them down. Mario kart super circuit is the only Mario kart where that ever happens. Also sadly I was never aware of the minish Cap back then and first found out about it in the AVGN video when he ranted about the Zelda timeline. I finally played the minish Cap thanks to the switch online expansion pass having GBA games and I haven't finished the game but my goodness the minish Cap is awesome! I grew up in the 90s so I grew up with a link to the past and while I should have grown up with ocarina of Time I ended up playing it later but anyways I'm not even that big of a Zelda fan. I mean I like Zelda games and I've played a lot of them but there's only a few I've ever beaten. I hope the minish Cap will be one of them because I'm really impressed but I gave it is just really cool

6:00 don't buy the NES classic edition Metroid on the GBA. There's no point in doing that if you already have Metroid zero mission because once you beat Metroid zero mission you unlock the original Metroid anyways
