Milliput Soldiers
มุมมอง 24K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Watch our hero as he turns Milliput into Warhammer proxies, with a little help from some Blue Stuff.
Definitely one of the better Blue Stuff videos I've seen, thank you 😊
Thanks for the kind words. and you are very welcome
I don't encourage copying stuff usually (unless it's for spare parts for converting/kitbashing) BUT when a model has been discontinued then it's fair game!!
Nice plywood. More expensive nowadays, an sturdier than osb. Great find. Cool build. I like the scale tiles/squares around the border, nice mechanic improver.
Thanks, I like cheating lol
"If you're lucky like me, you live in a sunblessed country..." Me, starring at the grey sky thru the window, felling the wet coldness without even leaving the house...i need a Glühwein😭
lol, sorry my man.
The master returns with new useful information! What kill teams you going for?
blood pact (evil guard) and some custom guard, like veteran and el classico lol. will see what bits i got
Thanks for the video. I wanted to point out that the music you use for filling and time lapse is only playing out of one side of headphones. It's still wonderful info to have. I can't wait to see how you progress in video making.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm busy learning the editing thing, and will look into that. I'm trying for a more polished look. Busy filming my next video as we speak. Hopefully I can get this figured out lol
@@lokistabletop No worries. Keep on keeping on. I think you can do a wonderful job.
Welcome back
many thanks ^_^
Hes back
eek, nuuuuuuuuuu!!!
Very very cool indeed. BTW, I miss that accent, I used to live in Joburg for a while but back in the UK now where I was born. :)
Lego works great for making mold boxes of varying dimensions
Can you also make figures in a piece using this method?
you have to be careful of overhangs, similar to 3d prints. You can partially assemble for example torso and legs, but I prefer the freedom to be able to pose the little guys as needed. But stuff like my Ogryns are assembled without armor and arms/weapons. It does make life easier
for anyone who has made a full recast out of milliput, how well does it hold up over time?
Generally speaking, I get 3 to 5 casts before I have to recreate the mold. But by then I've got enough pieces for the next squad
I´ve had the materials (Oyumaru and milliput) sitting in a drawer for over a decade, never used them. Even though I´m starting to 3dprint now, with acceptable results, your video made me decide to try cloning Adeptus Titanicus parts. Thank you!
Awsome, I can use Milliput to give my Banana Boys Custodes tits so I can make my new lore accurate Banana boy-girls without a banana.
That thicc paint tho
This is when I was just starting off making stuff lol. Been getting better
Keep this up !!! you are an awesome talent
thin your paints , brother
Eh, doesn’t look terrible, at least they’re all painted.
No
"what does he mean?" XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Great way to save money while still being able to enjoy painting and play!
well i knowe whas 2 years a go and just one vid and what hapend to poster ? that he stoped ? but as ALL other re cast vids this a ok one and why not make moldes that did have re do al the time ? thare is an A B mole makeing stuff that do pirment re cast molds i see in other vids but proly never know hope hes ok and nuthing bad had hapend
Just stumbled upon this video. Hope he's ok too.
@@TekoMuto I live, just forgot about the channel lol. Will be creating more in the very near future.
Less money in GWs pocket. Rock on
If you’re worried about supporting a company you don’t agree with, why play their games at all?
@@photonfartsqueeze6694 Company and writers|designers are two separate things. I like some of gw things (fantasy battles) but hate others so why not? They have more money than ever and i really would better keep my kidneys instead of selling them for some overpriced miniatures
@@photonfartsqueeze6694does it take alot of energy to be a shill for a company everyone hates?
@@Horsemanray No, but by playing the game you are in fact supporting their company.
@@ShowerOnceYearly I have some 9th edition marines, but I don’t play 40k since it’s a mess. I do play AoS, but by the end of third that game became a mess as well. So to call me a shill is a little strange. I suggest all of you get out and play more games. There is better stuff out there.
Great video! I might have missed it, but is there a reason you take the bits out of the mold after 4 hours instead of letting them cure in the mold over night? Is it harder to get them out when they are fully cured?
Sometimes I can leave them in, but I like to be able to batch paint. and waiting a full day per model isn't time efficient.
Exelent video, What i do is make a Milliput miniture/modal ect, make a slilicone mould of it in high temp resistent silicone than make a load of metal minitures that are stronger and nice to play table top/ paint ect.
That sounds cool! What kind of silicon do you use to cast metal miniatures? (and how many casts do they last for?)
@@SomethingInMyBasement BBDINO Silicone Mould Making Kit, Liquid Silicone for Mould Making 30A, I dont know how many it makes as im still making modals and the mould still have nbot broken, I get faliures but i just pore it again and again until they come out perfect maybe 2/8
@@lutrueson9000 thanks! I’ll look into that 🙂
I believe the top part of the mould has better detail because you've squished the blue stuff in all around the master. Have you tried removing the bottom part of the mould and redoing it? That way you could probably get the same level of detail on both halves. Thanks for the video 👍🏼
also putting the mold half to set in a freezer to harden up even more, so less likely to warp slightly after taking the piece you molded out for casting.

if you can build some sort of hard container with wood or some other hard material, you can probably get better quality from these under pressure from a bench vice or something.
I've tried using a G-clamp setup. The problem is the blue stuff is kinda squishy under pressure and it tends to distort the bits. Like cheap toy soldiers that is basically textured flat surface. I have a setup with a 5kg weight that seems perfect for this application
Nice video my man really useful little tips like the mould form and index points, Thanks for making a useful and easy to follow video, Liked and subscribed and will recommend, Cheers Brother from the UK
I fixed a car radiator with milliput in the 1990's I was a poor student with a shed of a car , the car had a metal guard covering the radiator and it broke off and slid between the engine and radiator slicing the radiator with a 5 inch slice. water was pouring out so no way could I drive it I took it to the garage and they said it needs a new radiator and the price for the replacement was a lot over £200 in 1990's I was skint and had no idea what to do and I remember that milliput was good with water so I checked the packet and it appears to be ok(and I had no other choice) so I got the entire packet and made a massive lump of it and slapped it on my car radiator spreading it out and covering the hole ran the car for about 10-15 mins to make sure it was warm and also it was not leaking then re-squashed it back down and then left it overnight the stuff set like a stone for the next few months id check it everyday , but over the months and years it just held position had that car for another 5 years and that milliput fix was still working even when I took my car to the scrap yard on its final day
Really cool video, nice clear instructions. Your finished product is really amazing, looks store bought. Looking forward to more videos :)
Really awesome video, I see a TH-cam master being born . I love the vibe
