The Victorinox Hiker Swiss Army Knife The Ultimate Lightweight EDC.
What can I say about the Victorinox Hiker Swiss Army Knife you might ask? well a lot!!!. This beautiful little 3 layered Swiss Army Knife by Victorinox packs a practical punch with the replacement of the classic corkscrew with a super usefull #2 Philips driver. The addition of the tried and true Victorinox wood saw and two cutting blades make this Swiss Army Knife a must for any Hiker, Backpacker or anyone looking for a compact EDC that can get the job done. I was super stoked that Victorinox had included the pin on this particular model giving this Swiss Army Knife a competitive upgrade. Should you consider buying this Swiss Army Knife??? Bloody Oath. Thanks for watching. #victorinox #swissarmyknife #bushcraft #survival

How to survive Kapooka! Top 10 Tips From An Afghan Vet.
Another elite SAK review by the AussieAxeDude👌 the Hiker looks like a great little model. You should do the Hunter XT next. Great video bud.
Cheers mate I seen the Hunter XT on sale last week really cool looking knife. Indeed the Hiker is a nice tool. Thanks for watching brother 🤙🤙
Have you heard the rumours that victorinox are bringing out a model with an upgraded blade steel some time this year?. Would that interest you?
I have heard rumours about the upgraded blade steel mate 🤙🤙🤙 I will definitely be keeping my eye out for it. Cheers for watching.
Did a paracord wrap on the knife and hatchet. Great set for $35 right now. Definitely real nice shit, er, stuff for sure lol 😉
Nice mate sounds like a good upgrade to this awesome low budget kit🤙🤙🤙 a terrific price if you ask me man these tools have held up 👌👌 cheers for watching.
That is to bulky for a normal person to carry for everyday.
lol funny seeing peoples different experiences. getting screamed at ( face ripped by up to 3 instructors ) but seriously Kapooka is not hard anymore get fit before you go and youll be fine.
So true mate 👍 cheers for watching.
>prepper gun >no irons Okay then…
Valid point mate 👍 I got the Wilson combat ghost ring and front post sitting in the safe as back-up cheers for watching 🤙
$34.98 at Cabela right now
Pretty sweet deal mate 👌👌
Any idea of the total weight of all the tools?
Can't remember off the top of my head mate but it was fairly lightweight 👍👍hope this helps thanks for watching.
Thanks for the review. I think I’m going to buy this kit now
Great kit 👌👌 cheers for watching.
"Good for plucking the wife's unibrow" - you're killing me...🤣🤣🤣🤣This is my EDC for the last 20 years...
🤣🤣🤣 glad you enjoyed mate. Great edc for sure 👌 cheers for watching.
Great info here... cant wait to watch more. Subscribed
Appreciate it mate 👍👍 cheers for watching.
How did you wrap the handle?
If you go into remote country in today’s age, you are worse than a scroat, you are an idiot and thankfully a dead one. Relying on a field dressing knife for survival is plain lunacy
I did kapooka almost 15 years ago. Discharged after a few years service and now i want back in and going through adf careers. Even though ive been through it all already and know exactly what to expect, im still here for tips lmfao
Good luck with it mate cheers for watching 👍👍👍
The knife is intended for field dressing an animal. It was not intended as a survival knife. It is a bone saw. It has a gutting blade. The main blade is perfect for reaming out the rectum. It’s easy to see that you are not a hunter.
I bet you are perfect for reaming out a rectum you scroat clearly you have never hunted remote country this could become a survival real fast.
It’s a HUNTER. You have called it a Hunter and the Huntsman
If you observe closely at 0.18 mins into the video in the top left corner you will see a written txt acknowledging my slip of tongue🤙🤙 thanks for watching mate 👍
It seems like every swiss army knife I see, with all out there; I can never get what I'm looking for: like good grief why can't they incorporate a nail file on one like this in your video. There's thing's I could do without, but that's not one of them. I want a nail file, scissors, knife of course, can opener I guess, a saw: maybe; any suggestions. Please help!
The Mountaineer is the one for you my friend although it does lack the saw. That or the Companion hope this helps 🤙🤙🤙
@aussieaxedude154 thank you, so much; I'm going to check that out! I think: I can do without the saw, but not a nail file; haha!
No worries 👍
The nail file is hard to come by on the larger Victorinox swiss army knives but if you check out the wegner swiss army knives the Evo18 has the stuff you are looking for.
Sir your accent is amazing
Thank you very much 😁😁cheers for watching.
I could watch this eccentric bastard talk axes and knives all day💥 let me know if that old cruiser comes up for sale great video beautiful location.
😂😂😂 cheers brother will do. Thanks for watching mate 👍
Nice accurate review mate! That size axe can get a lot of work done and still be quite portable.
Thanks for watching legend the perfect in the mid range axe 🤙🤙🤙
Went through '78 (Grunt). I'd hoped to give my 2c, but just too ill. So I'll limit myself to this. This is, by far, the best page, with sound advice minus the usual hyperbole. So listen to Axe & you'll be right. (BTW, re my last post. Had instructor not ensured I'd copped a sufficient dose of the CS the exercise would've have been pointless.).
Cheers for the positive input mate 👍 take it easy old fella 🍺
@@aussieaxedude154 You're welcome, take care.
Awesome video mate I'm definitely buying one next time I'm in the Stihl shop👍 going to do the same mods but might stain the handle more. Cool ute and beautiful location.
Appreciate it dude🤙🤙🤙 great little axe for the price I'm liking it more and more every time I look at it👌 cheers for watching mate.
@aussieaxedude154 I have seen on some other reviews that the handles can come loose did you have any problems with this?
I did notice the axe eye was rather dry when I was conducting the mods, gave it a good soak with boiled linseed oil and haven't had any dramas bro 🤙🤙
@aussieaxedude154 noted thanks for the info.
Yes, damn cheapest thing in a Stihl store.
Definitely is mate good value for money. Cheers for watching 👍
Right on!
Cheers for watching cuz 🤙🤙🤙
Next level Jonny 💯
Cheers for watching brother 🤙🤙🤙
I bought two and put 28” handles on them kept one and gave one to my brother, they make great all around axes!
Yea nice mate 👌 sounds like a sweet upgrade 👍cheers for watching.
Hurry up you wombat
Thanks. I own a few of the pump Remington guns here in Oregon. Great guns. Thanks for showing off the fun and reliable pump guns.😊😊
No worries mate 👍 they are super fun guns to use I also have the 7600 in 308 🤙🤙quite a unique rifle cheers for watching bro.
Interested in the best ‘survival’/‘bushcraft’ tomahawk (friction fit) for the Australian bush, needs to be sufficient weight and quality to process hard twisted knotty dead fall, but never much thicker than 3-4 inches really. Needs to be able to split branches by holding the blade and handle in line with the branch and then dropping them on a wooden anvil/log together so the blade sticks in the log and you twist the branch to leverage it away from the blade to split it. So needs to be heavy enough and sustainably durable enough to do this for yrs to come, while being light enough to choose to carry on your belt for everything Native Americans used it for Thanks for any suggestions 👍🏻
I'd suggest the Sneddens razorback hatchet mate Australian made for Aussie conditions 🤙🤙🤙
@ Thanks, yea they do look amazing 👍🏻
Very nice
Cheers for watching mate 🤙🤙🤙
@aussieaxedude154 i plan on watching more of your content.
I thought this was going to be a bit chunkier than I wanted but it has become a great tool for even everyday carry. I rarely use the small blade but all the other tools are handy. Even the much maligned parcel hook ; I use that a lot to pull rope, yank out tent pegs and yes, carry pot lids and firewood parcels. I also carry a magnet in the crook of the hook too. There is also a small hole behind the cork screw designed to hold a pin. I use the pin, the lens and the tweezers to take care of slivers and the pin and the added magnet to fashion an emergency compass. Also, I have added the small micro driver to the corkscrew. It’s a $3 add on but it is very nice to have for my sunglasses.
The Explorer is definitely one of my favourite models mate 👌 sounds like some cool extras to add to your SAK cheers for watching.
Always chop upwards when pruning (if possible)
Thanks for the information mate👍 cheers for watching.
That’s a prandi axe head you changed the handle for what do you mean
I was wrong but that’s the same head prandi uses and they’re cheaper. handle might be shorter
No worries mate I know these are made in Italy same as Prandi🤙🤙
Great little hatchet! Wider blade and head shape makes for a decent carver and very versatile camp axe. Great video mate!
Definitely a great little axe mate 👍 nice and light as well 🤙🤙 cheers for watching bro.
Love the Stihl hatchet! Had mine prob close to 10 years, still going strong, no dramas. Well worth the money🪓🪓
Great little axe bro 🤙🤙 I like how light it is.
Cool hatchet 👌 I have had my eye on the AX10 for a while do you know where these are made?
If it wasn’t made in China I’d be very surprised
Thanks dude👍 the AX10 looks pretty sweet. They are made in Italy. Cheers for watching mate 🤙🤙
@aussieaxedude154 Yea nice bro that inspires much more confidence.
Great SAK have 3 special edition and a black scale and 3 standard red scale models.
Yea nice mate I really like the black scales. Cheers for watching.
Great little axe mate.
Cheers brother 🤙
Nicely done sir. 1885-1949 Evansville Tool Works. Evansville Indiana USA. Mine is old and is an awesome axe.
Cheers mate👍 what an awesome old axe the saying they don't make them like they use to definitely hits home with this one🤙🤙 appreciate the info dude thanks for watching.
I have a 3 1/2 pound Evansville I refurbished.
Great knife which the tools are limited by only your imagination how to use them. I own three of them, and one I’ve owned for over 30 years and is still in great condition. That’s an unspoken quality of Victorinox, their SAK last for years if you do a modicum of care.
Could not agree more mate. Very handy tool exceptionally good rust resistance cheers for watching 👍👍
@ yup. Agree. My oldest Champ has no rust. I do recommend getting a pouch for the knife which keeps the fuzzy bunnies 🐰 out and prevents scratches on the scales.
whereabouts you at in aus? i found this video looking for wild bush food in victoria cos i was curious.
Central West NSW mate top of the great divide 🤙🤙
Thanks for the review, been looking for a good reasonably priced hiking axe.
No worries mate 👍 cheers for watching 🤙
Thank you for sharing! Great video :)
Thank you for making this awesome axe👍👍 a pleasure to swing it.
Hey mate any advice for people struggling with social anxiety wanting to get in? Been a dream since I was a kid but getting over that initial hurdle is tough.
Honestly mate this will cure it💪💪 you will be so busy you will organically not give a shit and automatically bond with your fellow soldiers 👍 the physical exercise and awesome stuff you will do, will melt that social anxiety away and give you a feeling of self worth✊️✊️ You can do this🤙🤙
@@aussieaxedude154 Thats good to hear, appreciate it 👍
I prefer the Hercules and Workchamp. Those small pliers are surprisingly effective at removing fish hooks and such, and the metal file/saw in the case of the Workchamp is also useful. Since I anyway pair my 111mm SAK with a fixed blade belt knife I am okay with the increased weight for the extra functionality in either a pouch or a pocket slip.
Yea nice mate I have had my eye on the Workchamp for a while looks like a decent tool 👌 cheers for watching dude 👍
Hunters real benefits are the center set blade (dead center line of handle) and more comfortable handle as there is no hot spot caused by the locking flat driver. The gut hook doesn't protrude as much and without a lock pushes beneath the handle scales. It is a good safety blade for getting through clothes for first aid, or getting out of waders that get filled with water; and cutting wet cordage, as well as making better feather sticks in some wood.
Completely agree mate very comfortable knife to use👍👍 cheers for watching 🤙
The one and done multitool package for outdoors. No tool on it isn't top of class. Worth getting the 'victorinox fireant' insert for the corkscrew and covering it with some 'heat shrink tube sleeve' to protect it from wear. I have also gotten some use from making the flat driver into a lockable chisel, just make sure you only file/stone grind down one side (the angled side).
Yea nice mate a lockable chisel would be far more useful 👍👍 appreciate the idea thanks for watching 🤙
carried the same one on me since i was 12
An elite tool🤙 big fan of this knife especially with the black scales. Cheers for watching 🤙
Thanks for that review Aussie. Im going to purchase the outrider. Iv got the Huntsman, but im going to pass that on to my daughter. I want the outrider, it looks more substantial. It has a Philips driver too. 👍
No worries mate 👍 highly recommended a great tool and surprisingly lightweight🤙🤙 big fan of the hidden Philips. Cheers for watching 🤙
